Sometimes mishandling during shipping can cause blade misalignment, or parts can be worn down from years of use. This video shows how to re-align the blade so that it matches the grid printed on the cutter.
Hi , I need some urgent advice pleas. I have one of these machine but even though the blade is sharp it will not cut through paper. I notice that you can see a minute gap between the blade and the red bar when the blade is fully down would cause the blade not to cut properly ? I have spent hours trying to work out why a sharp blade wont cut through 15 pieces of paper. Cold it be a blade misalignment? I use this guillotine for my work and without it i'm stuck. any advice most appreciated please.
My 858 is not cutting. I just sharpend the blade. I think it misalined. Do you have any other video's that explain it better. Or is it as simple as adding a washer. What thickness should the washer be? It their a Trouble shooting guide? OR any other support.
Kind of a useless video - what are you doing and why. You added a washer. How does that make the blade "straight" - mine isn't cutting square, which renders it pretty useless. Does anyone know how to do that?
Hello, That is what this video shows how to correct. You can use more or less washers (or different thickness washers) to change the angle of the blade against the frame. The cutter should arrive cutting squarely, but sometimes if the cutter is dropped or some other mishandling it can cause the blade to need adjustment. Sincerely, HFS
Did you just replace one of the washers? I've been messing with mine for 45 minutes and I can't get it to cut square. It came out of square and I finally got fed with it enough to try and fix it. Other than having to always manually align the blade it's awesome. Any help is appreciated.
You should only have to add a washer on one end or the other, depending on how the blade is off. The cutters come straight 98+% of the time, it's usually mishandling during shipping that can cause the frame to shift.
Thanks. I loosened the "fence" and shifted it over to make it square. And thanks to your video I was also able to correct the foot plant. Now if I can just mount a laser to project a line along the cutting path it would be perfect.

hi, not quite sure if all you do to fix is adding an extra washer?, also I bought this machine from amazon but I think I am missing some parts. I emailed you and called you but no reply yet. Please message me to answer some questions I have, thank you
Why are you just doing things without saying anything, and to make matters worst the camera angle in not in place so we can see exactly what you doing. Not helpful at all
