Legit, when I first saw a Shellsnapper dig underground in the first side mission with Talanah, I was like, "Hold on... that thing can burrow underground?". It was almost like having Rockbreaker flashbacks, except you're facing a giant tortoise or turtle with an invulnerable shell that also allows it to fire a giant beam of death when you hit it too often, and has weapons mounted on it. I definitely know why I don't like facing them much... though they do offer a good challenge.
I just finished killing this magnificent beast. This fight was so fun!!! I remember fighting this thing with Talanah and all I remember me saying is “Wait, this fucker can jump too?” And got body slammed by this guy.
My reaction to shellsnappers in trailer: Ok, this machine looks interesting, wonder how we are going to fight it tho. 🤔 My reaction to encountering shellsnappers for the first time: Wait, it has a shield? And it can hurl giant iceballs?! 😰😰😰 My reaction to shellsnappers after further progression: IT CAN HYPER BEAM AND CAUSE GIANT EXPLOSIONS WITH IT'S OWN BODY?!!!! 😱🤯 My reaction to shellsnappers after further more progression: Oooooooh, If you hit the shield, it actually absorbs the hit to gain more energy to power it's attacks! Makes sense. 😁😁😁 My reaction to shellsnappers now: Since shields absorb damage, can an overriden shellsnapper hyper beam as well? The answer is yes it can.
Cloaking technology and a pulse to distrupt a Focus. It's almost as if the Dreadwing was designed to not just germinate the biosphere, but to prey on Aloy in particular.
I may be mistaken, but I don't believe Dreadwings were designed for seeding the Adamantium Wreath flowers. I'm pretty sure that they were always combat machines all along designed by HEPHAESTUS, but DEMETER co-opted them for the seeding purposes.
I had a glitch where far from rest would play for Apex tracker burrowers when the shellsnapper wasn't even alerted, I tried this near the site with spikesnouts and Snapmaws but didn't have the same result. At this point, maybe Guerrilla likes the burrower too much. Did you have a similar glitch too?
I've had this glitch as well & i have had it with the spikesnout/shellsnapper spot a couple of times. The far from rest theme will play but the shellsnapper won't show up lol.
Not a fan of this one.A walking fortress like a shellsnapper should never be able to jump so high. I want the math of how it can do that. The fact it can also absorb and store attacks then dish it back out doing insane damage is absurd not to mention u have to chip at its plating slowly. Painfully
Once you get better gear, he's a breeze. Only thing that makes the fight longer is farming the shell Bolt's for upgrades but if I'm not worried about farming, It has a weak spot on it's belly that deals a ton of damage when it explodes.
The math is that someone - *CoughHaephestusCough* - DID calculate the torque strength required for a turtle-form to jump, and simply scaled the parts necessary while using other different lighter materials internally, behind the shell. Remember: Dinosaurs existed in the world and were quite capable of getting around, due to their bodies evolving in such a way where a giant run down a smaller prey. And here, we're talking about a computer able to calculate what's necessary down to the nano-scale. The math, therefore, is assumed. Shellsnaappers are not fast, so naturally their strength is in *force,* just the same way a bulldozer can push materials around, but it's terrible on the highway.
@@CaptainPilipinas Do you mean where they come up from the ground? If so then yes they do this but i don't think they have these machines in this part of the map.
@@HorizonThemes you get it. alright. so on the same page. yes. from my current observations so far from others I usually see them in the desert areas of the Forbidden West map. I would try to encounter them in the forest/jungled areas, but if there was a quick video for me to see at least out there instead....
@@CaptainPilipinas They always show up for me in the desert area too. There might be a spot in the forest area i haven't checked yet, I'll have a look when i get on in a bit. It would be a shame if they didn't have any in this area as it's perfect for these machines.
@@HorizonThemes I have seen. a screenshot anyways. I have not devled deeper into youtube seeing it in action though. it would be an Unfortunate ripoff ig they just market it, hyping it. rather than let the machine do it Realistically in in-Game encounters. you may try to experience that again since you are further into the sequel now, yeah.
