It's so fucking funny to me that the bad guy's mind control plan came about all because he hates advertising, in a game that got absolutely no advertisement other than "yo here's this game peace". 😂😂😂😂😂
I don't think advertising was Kale's problem, but rather his inability to accept differences in opinion. Or rather, people having opinions in the first place.
The entire game is one big videogame industry parody. Rekka: Mistreating employees, harsh working environment and copyright strikes Zanzo: Creative leads with childlike vision and no ground of realistic goals or budget management that overwork their employees while most of the ideas are never finished. Korsica: employees and leads that came to the company that take pride in their work and want to produce a great result, inspired by masterpieces games only to be met with the reality of the crappy videogame industry that all the other bosses represent. Some of them resort to leaving big companies and collaborating on indie titles against big companies. Mimosa: Over glamorous advertising with no substance, just like triple A companies make false promises and always end up under delivering to the consumers. Roquefort: Stingy game companies that underpay their employees or don't give enough budget for features like proper servers making their online games borderline unplayable. Thinking only how to bring the most profit on the table no matter the cost like aggressive monetizations. Kale: Companies that find every aspect of the game too much work and would rather get free money for barely doing anything, releasing half finished videogames for quick profit.
I think what people forget to mention, is that this also prevents the game from needing to be unlisted later down the line. Licenses expired? Just change these to be the regular songs now, no more licensed ones, no more work needed later down the line, game still can be sold normally. It's really just the best of both worlds.
@@mateusineo8755 I'll be honest, while I prefer whirring to surfacing, I really wouldn't care much if they ended up replacing the songs over time with the streamer mode tracks.
The way they manage to make all of these songs original while giving them the exact same vibe and structure as the licensed versions really is impressive. Overall I think I still prefer all of the licensed tracks, but it's crazy how similar they sound while still being distinct.
for once, the final boss gain the place of the favourite boss. it had all a final boss needs. a bastard you want to punch, a game mechanic that asks you to call every one's help, a badass music and an amazing stage, an epic final and the greatest ending with the best last word. Watching this fight, you cannot tell this isn't a final boss.
@@optimaltt6070 There should have been an achievement for Finishing him off with the "808 Gigawatt Cat Attack!" 808 starts the fight and she finishes it.
The best I can gather for lyrics. (With help and collaborative effort) Steep pitched roof on a cold gray night, A shadow 'cross the moon under my flight Somehow I felt the pain of your hunger My will to resist was pulled out from under It stood tall and I began to shake my blood coursed strong as you readied your take I nodded once and that was all it took in a blink you were over me and my world shook And when I said it was understood You had control once you lowered your hood My pulse quickened to impossible speed Your fangs sunk deep and you began to feed And now I just can't hide Spellbound and mesmerized You got me hypnotized Spellbound and mesmerized So I'll give you what you want (What I need is now what I want) In a blink I am yours (Give it to me and I'll give it to you) With a flash and a squeeze it's my turn to feed Unspoken promises with mutual need She whispered to me as our blood mixed: "You're the seventh son of the seventh son, your fate is fixed" Now I'm a phantom; a ghost unabsolved I'm bound to move shadows when the day dissolves Surely no bullet; no wooden stake could never end this fog that refuses to break And now I just can't hide still bound and mesmerized you got me hypnotized still bound and mesmerized I'll give you what you want (what I need is now what I want) In a blink I am yours (give it to me and I'll give it to you) Whispered: [So I'll give you what you want And what I need is now what I want In a blink I am yours Give it to me and I'll give it to you (So I'll give you what you want, And what I need is now what I want) x2 In a blink I am yours Give it to me and I'll give it to you So I'll give you what you want And what I need is now what I want In a blink I am yours give it to me and I'll give it to you] Repeated hardly audible gasping* I'll give you what you want (what I need is now what I want) In a blink I am yours (give it to me and I'll give it to you) Repeated and hardly whispered into fadeout: (Time, dissolves, without, the truth) Repeated 2 lines in: Hypnotized I really love the vampiric text here and the one-on-one uhh 'action' subtext, a really cool song altogether.
its the seventh son* the seventh son of the seventh son is a being of great mythical power according to multiple religions and idelogies, since it's highly unlikely that your family has 14 male sons in a row
This might help. I'm certain this song is about vampirism. Most likely lyrics from what I can tell: (unsure) (unsure) Somehow I felt the pain of your hunger My will to resist was pulled out from under Hair stood tall and I began to shake My blood coursed strong as you readied your take I nodded once and that was all it took In a blink you were over me and my world shook And when I said it was understood You had control once you lowered your hood My pulse quickened to impossible speeds Your fangs sunk deep and you began to feed And now I just can't hide Spellbound and mesmerized You got me hypnotized Spellbound and mesmerized I'll give you what you want (What I need is not what I want) In a blink I am yours (Give it to me and i'll give it to you) With a flash and a scream it's my turn to feed (honestly kind of hard to make out these lines) Your fate is fixed Now i'm a phantom- (unsure) Unbound to move shadows when the day dissolves (Hard to make out clearly) If I had to guess what the song is about, it seems likely to be Chai referring to Vandelay injecting robotics into him, similar to vampires spreading vampirism. "Nodded once and that was all it took" referring to Chai consenting without really reading the consent form for the surgery. Perhaps "spellbound and mesmerized" refers to Chai being mind controlled by Kale. "I'll give you what you want" likely referring to Chai proving his Vandely robot arm kicks ass (Kale should be proud his product is this successful), or that Kale wants a fight and Chai is willing to oblige. "What I need is not what I want" is likely Chai needing his arm fixed, but he doesn't want the baggage of being a Vandelay lackey or experiment. "Give it to me and i'll give it to you" could mean Chai getting revenge against Vandelay (Kale) for giving him something he did not want in the form of Spectra mind control and being hunted down as a defect. Give me suffering and I give you suffering. These are just what I think the lyrics are, and what they might mean. I stand by my statement that the song is about vampirism. It is too obvious. I posted this same comment on the other lyrics comment as well. Hope it helps you out too.
@@Tetragramix Oh duh, that IS the word Spellbound XD Absolutely vampiric, though I was thinking more on a general scale, where capitalism drains enough of its host (the people) to maintain itself as it is. Kale is looking to upset the whole individual consumerism thing in favor of absolute control, from what I understand of his plot. Under that, "What I need is now what I want" could refer to agreement of what someone else believes is what they need, like saying 'you need a band-aid' to someone with hiccups and them agreeing. Regardless of any message, I've had the song stuck in my head for too long, it just goes so hard. xd
@@albhis I'm pretty sure this song is about Kale, like the other boss's songs fit them, but I tried to interpret it for Chai. In the case of "Capitalism", I think it makes more sense that it would mean technological society as a whole, not Capitalism specifically.
My favorite part was how he took off his jacket for another jacket... Thrice, though cant say i totally liked this boss it got real annoying sitting there for a minute not being able to do anything against the z-shields until he attacked and i got to use macaron once before repeating the cycle, and sometimes he didn't even go for the arms
some of your special attacks can break through it actually, high pitch punch iirc was the one I used that will open him up in that phase and he often tried to counter attack me after using it which let me double punish with the Macron call in
Yeah I think the middle section of the fight where you have to target all his gear with the appropriate allies is REALLY annoying, and not because of the concept. It's just in execution he sometimes spams all his other attacks for minutes on end and, if you're unlucky, it can take FOREVER for him to finally use the attacks you need to counter in order to beat that stage. There's just no way to progress other than waiting for him to use specific attacks that let you hit him back, which is REALLY frustrating sometimes when you're playing on rhythm master and watching your fucking rhythm bar tick down while rng decides Kale is not going to use his key attacks for over a minute straight. You have to perfectly parry everything and smack him constantly just to keep yourself from dying due to rhythm drop until you get an attack you're allowed to interact with, it's a really stressful stall-fest. Feels like he should be programmed to use those attacks on a set timer to ensure that can't happen. But overall I'd call it a minor flaw in a very fun fight. Great character to hate, pretty exciting fight outside of that middle part, and a genuinely fun challenge on high difficulties.
This slaps so hard *Like 808* The fact this man got boxed by a cat and LOST makes me giggle when I think about. And the fact every comment I see about it is some variation of "808 gave him the four piece no biscuit" makes it so much better
Perfect Drug is great but a song that outright goes with the characters will always be best; not 100% on the nose like MGR boss music but you clearly see the parallels in the lyrics and between our highly talented slacker bois and really the moral of the story.
@@kue5053 bruh QA-1MIL rekka mimosa and kale all exploded zanzo got a severe concussion and some broken bones And roquefort got crushed And korsica almost died before they gave her robot implants THE ONLY THING LEFT OF REKKA IS HER BELT
So funny thing kale was the boss the probably killed me the most on my first playthrough so by the time I finally beat him I had a D rank which I wasn't so proud of, so I decided to fight Mimosa, rougefort and of course kale with my knowledge of what to do and what to avoid and man I FELT LIKE A GOD PARRYING EVERYTHING HE THREW AT ME and I ended up getting an S rank on all of them. So long story short never limit yourself and remember you can always be better
Exactly, when I did the challenge for the wall to do No DMG on Kale it took probably a few hours taking breaks each day but I did it eventually and accidentally got a 2-for-1 cause there’s also doing ANY stage with no damage
I like how both this and The Perfect Drug can kind of work as theme songs for SPECTRA; "I'll give you what you want", Kale is going to brainwash all the Armstrong subjects into buying Vandelay constantly.
OFFICIAL LYRICS There's truth on a concrete night I shot across the moonlight under my flight Somehow, I felt the pain of your hunger My will to resist was pulled out from under Hair stood tall and I began to shake My blood coarse strong as you readied your take I nodded once, and that was all it took In a blink, you were over me, and my world shook And when I said it was understood You had control once you know what you heard My pulse quickened to impossible speeds Your fangs sunk deep and you began to feed And now I just can't hide Spellbound and mesmerized You got me hypnotized Spellbound and mesmerized! I'LL GIVE YOU WHAT YOU WANT (WHAT I NEED IS NOT WHAT I WANT) IN A BLINK I AM YOURS (GIVE IT TO ME AND I'LL GIVE IT TO YOU) With a flash and a scream, it's my turn to flee. Unspoken promises the future will lead. She whispered to me "if our blood mixed, you're the seventh son of the seventh son Your fate is Fixed" Now I'm a phantom but coast on the song I'm bout to move shadows when the day desolves Surely you would've known whats at stake Could never end this spark that refuses to break And now I just can't hide Spellbound and mesmerized You got me hypnotized Spellbound and mesmerized I'LL GIVE YOU WHAT YOU WANT (WHAT I NEED IS NOT WHAT I WANT) IN A BLINK I AM YOURS (GIVE IT TO ME AND I'LL GIVE IT TO YOU) So I'll give you what you want And what I need is not what I want In a blink I am yours Give it to me and I'll give it to you So I'll give you what you want And what I need is not what I want So I'll give you what you want And what I need is not what I want In a blink I am yours Give it to me and I'll give it to you So I'll give you what you want And what I need is not what I want In a blink I am yours Give it to me and I'll give it to you SO I'LL GIVE YOU WHAT YOU WANT (GIVE IT TO ME AND I'LL GIVE IT TO YOU) IN A BLINK I AM YOURS (GIVE IT TO ME AND I'LL GIVE IT TO YOU) Hypnotized Hypnotized Hypnotized Hypnotized Hypnotized Hypnotized Hypnotized Hypnotized Hypnotized Hypnotized Hypnotized Hypnotized Hypnotized Hypnotized
Now I get the jokes on tumblr that Kale is a homosexual homophobe, holy shit (still, I really like how either version's lyrics fit the theme of SPECTRA but each with their own take)
All the Streamer Mode songs that replaced the regular, licensed songs are meant to capture the feel of the songs they replace. Too Big To Fail captures the instrumental feel of 1,000,000, also made by NIN, for example.
Yeah, this song just works waaaay better then Perfect Drug for the fight. Like, I think the entire streamer mode soundtrack is better than the licensed music, but this song is just so much better than it’s licensed counterpart that it’s kinda hard to believe.
interesting decision for them to make the final boss OST so horny, but the sex QTE definitely caught me off guard when Chai and Kale started making out halfway through the fight
It's not actually in the game itself, and it's a reference to how the base song, "The Perfect Drug," Also ends. Personally, I think the licensed song did the ending better, but this is still great.
Not gonna lie, not since Handsome Jack have i seen quite an interesting and funny Villain that i both loved seeing and wanted to punch in the face so hard. Well done to the devs and writers.
Personally I like listening to the unlicensed versions of the songs. They fit with the bosses and villains better or fit better with Chai's experience and his adventure. The copyrighted licensed song, Perfect Drug doesn't feel as good in the game's story. This song is much better at expressing Kale's personality and his evil plan. The lyrics tell much more about the fight and the song as a whole also feels more intense for a final boss battle. (Edit rearrange of sentences and more elaboration on how I feel about the song. The comment itself remains pretty much the same)
Wellp. I was absolutely psyched to hear Perfect Drug during Kale boss battle (one of my favourite NIN Songs. And it fit so well!). But Streamer version is indeed cool! It doesn't mimic PD, but simply reminds of it, yet it is quite different. Guess I have to replay the whole Masterpiece of a Game for the altered experience.
Damn, im new in the game and i just finished the game with almost every level an S rank on hard difficulty. And i never knew this version existed. Now im going to pass the whole game again😅
I don't know why, but the official lyrics, "Surely you would've known what's at stake." sounds too much like "Surely no bullet, no wood stake." and to be honest I feel like it fits the overall vampire theme of the song more than what the original lyrics say. Plus, it sounds more cohesive with the following lyrics "Could ever end this spark that refuses to break." But that's just me.
This is the one boss theme I think is better than its licensed counterpart by a large margin for the fight. All the others I edge towards the licensed theme but this one fits way too well.

It was made specifically so that content creators wouldn't get DMCA accusations, so if you exclude the licensed music, and put credits on the screen or in the description, you probably should be good
