this song is not only just a banger, but it fits in insanely well with the fight, almost like a duet between mimosa and chai both fighting for the attention of the audience
more than that, mimosa is from marketing, she's the one who chose "dispose of" instead of "kill" in the fine print, so basically she's telling him he didn't know and shouldn't be hurt
You know? for some reason I imagine Chai starting to sing this spontaneously in the middle of the boss fight and Mimosa just decides to going with the flow to enchant the audience even more.
Holy shit, I feel robbed playing the licensed version after hearing this. No disrespect to Fiona Apple, but this duet just feels so much more powerful for a boss fight.

@@NEO0950 But interestingly, Chai's parts in the boss fight are the female vocals. Which makes sense, the lyrics do fit a bit better that way, especially with the parry sequence at the end.
@@sevntohno8728 Vandelay Side Story and Finalizer Wave happen during the male vocals and the final parry struggle also follows that order; though I suppose it's not as definitive as that sounds, since the Space Channel 5 bit alternates it. (Also on just the parry struggle alone, the repeated reply "They're not secrets not lies if you don't know" feels thematically appropriate since all the Vandelay bosses are continually baffled that he makes the best out of a bad situation, he's done explaining himself to them)

I feel that I prefer only Wolfgang's 5th and Invaders Must Die over the original compositions. The rest are fitting much better, but the 5th is, well, a classic, and Invaders have no competition, period.

I thought that Mimosa was gonna be the typical diva personality, where her demanding nature and flashiness far outstripped her talent, but then when she decided to make Chai a part of the show, she immediately became one of my favorite bosses for that reason alone. As you said, it really was artist v artist here.

Spoiler warning I just noticed something brilliant about the artwork used as background for the video. It makes Korsica part of the team image without spoiling her turn to the heroes! She appears as a stylized billboard in the background like Mimosa, but her pose and position let her fit right in with the rest of the heroes. Foreshadows her turn without spoiling it. Absolutely brilliant.

Imagine when Chais health goes below 30% there was a heart beat sound effect every 2 beats like "beat, beat (one full rest period) beat,beat" and if you got below 10% it would the heart sound effect would beat on rythm since it would be natural for Chai to be filled with even more adrenaline and dopamine when drasitcally low hp.
Actually if your at low health, the music actually becomes worse sounding. Makes sense since your performance is going downhill and turning into a disaster
@@uncroppedsoop Cult of the Lamb actually did that, every time you get hit, the music becomes muffled and echoy for a momment before slowly returning to normal to simulate the pain felt
This fight was EVERYTHING to me, my god this track was perfect for Mimosa's fight. I never cared about dying, because it meant I got to jam to this all over again! 🎸
one of my fav bosses. I know some people wondered why you have to stunn her but the point is you have to deal a maximum of dammage in a short time if you don't want the fight to take forever. Also the fight wasn't repetitive from a phase to the other. without saying it was a pleasure to get rid of one of the most despitable characters in the game. the whole level just made you want to give her a big slap in her ego.

This game was such a surprise, at the beggining it was fun but ok, as far is it gets, the game got very dificult with lots of combos and a real learning line for timing attacks with the beat, I'm shooked how this got released with no marketing and Redfall was market to fail 'o'

I played the non-licensed version when I first beat the game, and this was the song for my fight against Mimosa. I remember getting distracted because I liked it way too much, specially because Mimosa moves at the beat of it. Died so many times for getting distracted XD.
idk enough about rogue other than the two both clearly have a seductress thing going on. but mettaton is definitely because mimosa is a big performer, even deciding to use the fight against you as a performance, which is also what mettaton does
man i still dont know how the hell im supposed to actually fight this lady. when shes in the air, i cant apply the increased stun debuff, but i need to stun her to do damage. also she spends 80% of the fight in the air. Eventually I just brute forced it with enough Pick Me Up spam, but this was rough and I got like a C rank.
@@jgn I think he was more alluding to the difficulty of switching to such a fast paced jazz rhythm being jarring enough to qualify as a Souls boss, though I would more equate her to late game Revengeance difficulty.
