@@ProfessorHeavy1 what I really love is how they had her also do it for some of the buildup to fighting QA-1MIL so it's an established character quirk that they use for her actual fight's buildup.
Had a chat with the director about why he did a cover instead of the original. His response: The issue with the original was working with the game. During the verses it has times where the beat “drops out” which we were worried would be a problem for players to identify the beat. Really wanted the song in there so we opted to cover it so we could add in the “claps”
Sounds like a problem that would be easily fixed by adding a clap track. I rather think a mechanical license was much cheaper than getting a full usage one. Mechanical license allows people to sell their covers. Even worse if they wanted to ask for the stems. Those costs can range from 50k to millions. While a mechanical license is a few cents to a few bucks.
@@WesmoenI believe the clapping in the original song we're done on separate stems and it would have been a pain in the ass to reassemble those stems to incorporate in the game's data
@@MrXabungle depending on how the stems are mixed. Guitar hero and Rockband games had overlap issues as well. Made charting and sound syncing harder to do. Especially with older pre-digital songs.
Playing the game in normal for the second time on a new file I managed to play the entire game getting a ranks and b ranks and almost not dying but the second last boss gets me everytime
This fight just feels so in sync with the music. I know everything is, but her attacks, with my dodges into combos, were almost in perfect time with the guitar riffs, moving and fighting just was so easy to get into a rhythm with this.
It's really satisfying to play this game. It's like a dynamic quick time event that actually challenges you, but also telegraphs what to do, so you don't have to think too hard or plan or strategize. You just gotta pay attention, loosen up, and feel the rhythm. It's as relaxing as it is exhilarating!
You know what I like about this game's bosses? The sudden mechanic changes throughout. Like the pipe throwing section in this one, i was like "OH SHIT HERE WE GO!"
So interesting how this particular song seems like it's talking about Chai and how his teammates might find him annoying, stupid and pompous. But it can also be talking about Rekka's relationship with her coworkers and how they view her as a general headache to deal with and perhaps incompetent at her job.
On that topic: Chai - tea flavor Peppermint - tea flavor too Macaroon - confectionary good with tea. Also a tea flavor. CNMN - tea flavor again. Rekka - a spicy ramen. Zanzo - Sanzo brand sparkling water since he also has his own brand energy drink. Korsica- Corsican pear spice, which pairs well with tea as an additive. Mimosa - cocktail of champagne and citrus juices. Roquefort - an expensive bleu cheese, considered the best kind of bleu cheese. Kale - a vegetable.

QA 1Mil was a great fight with a great track to boot. But this fight paired with this song set the tone for the ENTIRE game. I wanna play this fight for the first time again.
What I love about that cutscene in between the chorus, is if you skip it at the start it can make rekka say “not bad!.. JUICE” idk why but it makes me laugh too much
This song sounds like it's being sung by Gandhi from Clone High. Also the clapping I know was not in the original it was added for the beat indication.

I’ve completed my first solo flight roughly a month ago, now just days away from my actual PPL checkride. Since this is a 2 month scholarship program throughout the summer, in anticipation, I’ve been visualizing my first solo flight with this song specifically. And god damn did it feel just as badass as I thought
When you extract the pak, you'll get a handful of unsorted .wem files as well as some .bnk files which should just be archives full of .wems. If I recall correctly, there are a bunch of .bnk files named Music_ST##.bnk where the ## is the number of the stage. You can use foobar2000 with the vgmstream plugin to extract the .wems out of the .bnk archives.
I just can't get into the Captive Normals' version, which is a shame because it _does_ work with the fight. But this is an earworm. You hear it even after the song's ended and don't mind singing along (badly).

Yeah lol. It had all the parts of this that I liked with much stronger lyrics that dont repeat constantly. Altho Free Radicals still has a unique feel, like this surreal chorus cheering you as you *ACTUALLY* are about to kick her ass
I'm happy that I'm not the only who prefers Captive Normals. To me, the song sounds like a good take of The Killers - Dustland Fairytale. Something with the lyrics and delivery, maybe.

@@chomskyhonk2366 Actually, back then, he was moderate. Plus, like I said, his opinions actually didn't change. There's videos of when he tried to run as an Independent in 2004, using all the same talking points as 2016. Technically speaking, the political spectrum is what changed, not him. Or me. I'm considered right wing now, but I haven't changed any view I've had since I registered as an Independent voter out of high school. Everything's just gone so far left field, even pure moderates are considered hard conservatives now.

Yehp the streamer mode plays versions of the songs that are made by the inhouse band at tango studios. Helps people stream the game without worry of getting their channels taken down
Not quite as hype as Captive Normals, but it's got this delightful charm about it that juxtaposes well with Rekka's combat. Especially at the bridge. It works. It's great! It's just not nearly as good as Captive Normals. Captive Normals is one of the best video game OST's I've ever heard. Big shoes to fill. Anything sounds bad in comparison. This got me hyped when I first played the game. I still hum "YOU think your RADICAL, YOUR NOT- SO- RADICAL!" sometimes. I don't think enough people will ever give this version enough credit.
