I love the attention to detail with the oboists and bassoonists doing steps with Pom Poms instead of playing their instruments. Double reed players cannot march with their instruments because the reed is both sharp enough to cut their lips and extremely fragile. It’s also extremely difficult to blow into the reed when moving around because the air flows into a small hole between the reeds causing them to vibrate. In American High School marching bands (like the one I was in), those students either try out for the color guard or play a percussion instrument in the pit.
I started in the clarinet in 3rd grade. In 6th I switched to tenor sax after listening my uncles 's Bossa Nova records and in 8th I made the move to bassoon. When I marched I played tenor or bari sax. In jazz band I played the bassoon. I sort of copied Illinois Jacquet's arrangement and that became our closing number during my time. You can catch Jacquet here on RU-vid.
try to watch kyoto tachibana sneior highs school band you will see how they dance and jump while playing the instrument and 90% of the member is girl..
@@krugz_ SPOILERS WARNING . . . . . It's not a waste as long as there's development, and I think Kanade needed a bit more depth to hers. 2 movies would have been okay, like the recap movies for the first year. One movie just feels rushed. I loved every second of it but it doesn't really work imo.
