7:30 just a FYI not all of those are speakers in the ceiling they're actually for thermostats to determine what temp to keep the car at when placed on automatic temp mode. ...I removed one in my Yukon and then all I could do was have the temp at the lowest or highest.
Thanks Danny. I bought my 2018 a few weeks ago and this video saved me a ton of time from not having to read the manual. I just subscribed and will be viewing more of your videos for tips and info.

Buying a new Tahoe tomorrow to replace our 8 year old Tahoe. We will miss the old girl it's been an amazing, awesome vehicle. Love everything about it. Thanks for the videos, keep them coming.
A quick way to disable DOD/AFM is to put the transmission is "L". Then upshift to 5th ( NOT 6th ) on the shift selector . This disables AFM/DOD but the trans will not use 6th gear. Rarely makes any difference around town. This will extend the life of the valve lifters that disable in V4 mode. You can delete the AFM/DOD by spending a few hundred dollars at a tune shop. OR, you can remove all mechanical parts of the system, which requires a new cam, for $3500 to $4500.
with good maintaining, change oil at 3k to 4k miles, with fully synthetic oil reduced or prevents these problems, ppl going 10k on oil changes kiss of death for them

Good video, so many features. I have the 2016. One thing i noticed. When you go to the settings menu and you speak about the speed limit. Don’t think that is looking for the current road speed limit that you are on. It allows you to enter a sped Limit and the Tahoe will not go over the imputed speed limit. Good for younger drivers and rental companies
Im glad you enjoyed it. I’ve made more videos since this. Check out my playlist Yukon / Tahoe / Suburban / Escalade Owner’s manual Bells & whistles ru-vid.com/group/PLIjr-uSYDZi7J7EQ1ErTn1Yzi6ET_3Ssr
Good video. A couple of things I wanted to mention, though. The phone charger is too small but if you angle your phone so that one side sits in the charging area it will still charge. One thing I didn’t see in the video (and maybe I missed it) was talking about how to activate the automatic high beams on the headlights, which is a nice feature.

@@dannyjohnsonsgarage I have heard people like to be able to only open their one door initially for safety reasons. So far I have been fortunate to not need the rest of the doors locked to keep somebody out! 😳✌🏻

They are factory take off AT4 wheels 2019 AT4 Wheels Yukon Review: Goodyear Wrangler Tires on a GMC DENALI ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Jngnmm-wXnw.html
On my 2015 suburban when I turn on 4 wheel drive all the tires light up as green. When it is in 2 wheel drive the front tires are Gray and the rear tires are green on the display.
I LOVE my 2015 Denali XL!! Best car ever!! Hey, how would you reattach the silver trim piece running horizontally along the middle of the passenger front door? Mine is starting to lift toward the front of the door.
One thing people need to know is change the air inside filter. Open the glove box if it doesn't have a pull tag unscrew all screw's then drop down look in back it might have a cover pop sides and pull off look a filter this will keep your inside air clean and new. Dirt, fire, dirty city change it so buy many. Mine also comes with a air pump in the back it's great but can run battery down.
I need more instruction on using the Bluetooth headphones when watching movies. I can only get it to work with the sound coming through all the speakers. I want headphones only.
They are the AT4 wheels. More cushion with the bigger side wall. 22s look better, but these ride a little better ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Jngnmm-wXnw.html
@@dannyjohnsonsgarage I don’t doubt a better ride! My ‘08 has 20” wheels w/ 55 series tires so way better than a 22” with 45 series. Now you’re ready for a zombie apocalypse in pure luxury!
My mom has a 2016 Yukon Xl Denali she got brand new and it now has about 140,000 miles and it hasn’t had one single issue except for the a/c condenser thing that pretty much all of them have. I drive it all the time and the only thing that annoys me is the 8 speed auto transmission. It isn’t near as good as the 10 speeds in the 17’s and up so obviously that’s why the changed it. Has your transmission ever done anything annoying like most of them do? They are known to do some weird shit without actually having anything wrong with them. Ours will slip a little bit going from 1st to 2nd gear when it’s cold and after that it works fine. It’s done it since it was new but every dealership says it’s normal for the 8 speeds to do that.
It probably needs the updated fluid and maybe a transmission temp sensor as mine did. It would also slip on shifts not knowing the correct temp. It’s better now and I like the 8l90 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PxAeX6dZbCA.html
Hey Danny✌️😊 I want to first say thanks for doing the do it yourself fix it videos. Okay so now I want to see if you can help me out with my problem Danny. So I bought me a used 2015 Tahoe LTZ and from day one my sunroof wouldn’t never open during the day but once the sun went down and the temperature also cooled my sunroof would work so I just thought that maybe the sunroof gasket needed to be greased well this week it decided to stop working all together so I’m wondering if it’s the fuse or the control. I haven’t checked the fuses yet because I don’t know where the specific fuse is located. So here I am Danny asking for your advice HELP!!!
Hey Danny .. thank you for the informative video .. I wonder what is the size of the rims and tires as will .. I'm planning to change my 22 rims but I don't know the size that doesn't affect the speedometer or the car performance in general ? Can please tell me the size of both tires & rims on your beautiful Denali ?
If it feels like its not clicking all the way up could be the mechanism is jammed with something, especially if it never auto rolls up. Otherwise if sometimes it rolls up and sometimes it doesnt, I was told to clean the windows and dirt between the rubber seals since excess friction can cause the window to sense to much force required to auto roll up and so it doesnt.
@@Leghar Do you feel or hear it click when the lever is pulled beyond the initial resistance? I'm not a mechanic but Id guess the switch or sensor that allows it to roll all the way up is bad.
I just had to replace the lifters and did the cylinder deactivation delete as well since it ruined the camshaft ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cWayyZGNYRI.htmlsi=hSYoy88LozTC-_yv
It’s a 2015 and will be the same until 2020. The only difference would be if you get the XL that’s longer. The 2021 is the new bodystyle with the rear independent rear suspension and different floor
Ahh Nevermind, didn’t realize yours was the standard size, I’m picking up an xl. Thank you for the reply. Did you do anything with the cylinder deactivation or no?
What Sierra/Silveradoo you know does have most of these features. Let me know and I will be sure to buy one lol. This is more on the SUV side of the house. I have a 15 Sierra denali and it has its cool features but the SUV's have more.
If you plan on keeping your truck for awhile, have your v4 (afm, dod) tuned out. Trust me its a ticking time bomb. Eventually your lifters will stick in the closed position. With a missfire. Not worth the gas savings. A hp tuner can tune it out. Usually $200
You can electronically, but it won't keep the failure from happening, so the best way is the physical delete, which requires removing the cylinder heads. I'm deciding if I am going to do it or not.
@@dannyjohnsonsgarage good to know. I just bought a 2016 Tahoe ltz 70000 miles and it has the 5.3 that drops cylinders. I’m sure you’ll post a video of you decide to do it.
Help? I have a 2019 Denali. The touch screen is quasi-defunk. While attempting to get speakers to play more so on driver’s side, the screen froze and locked speakers (while listening to music only) to the front passenger’s dash speaker only. I now have mono-stereo, even after a dealership visit 3 months ago (“You need a whole new system, but unfortunately there is no estimate of when one will be available.”). This does not occur if on speaker phone/incoming calls however. I asked dealership if stereo wires could be spliced or re-routed (? It’s driving me bat shit crazy not being able to use the stereo :o(. ) I have tried EVERYTHING I can think of: Restored to factory settings, reconfigured touch screen (it freezes on the very last config before restoring), disconnected battery, use an apple Ipad pen -thingy, all to no avail. Wed I have an appointment to see if I can find an after market component. Thank you!
It’s probably the screen system itself if it’s freezing, and under warranty they should replace it before the bumper to bumper is up. I’d demand it’s fixed and if they won’t try another dealership or someone higher up
@@dannyjohnsonsgarage Thank you so much for your quick reply! They claim the warranty for it is up, and that the new 1 will cost me $1400 & change. 😭🤯👎💩
@@acl5685 there a suppose software update to fix the radio with the freezing. My 18 is way out warranty when if fs up I just disconnect the negative battery do the window reprogram shit it tells you and off I go. Another know issue is where the cabin filter is the connectors for part of the radio are right above it and can get dislogged so it may exhibit similar problems. There guys thst say smack the glove box if the radio starts working check the connectors. In my case it's been over a year since my radio repeated acted up and froze. Interesting the only thing I changed was I replaced the battery on a then 2 year old truck. Knock on wood it has not come back. I'd check the connectors first. Then inquire if there is a dealer software update. Good luck.
You've probably answered this but I didn't find it. How do you turn off the damn horn honking when you step out of the vehicle and shut the door with it running? I'm quite aware the engine is running. What a stupid option.
It should auto dim with the rest of the gauges. There is a dial for gauge brightness near the head light knob, but If that won’t change it there isn’t anything else I know of
Great comment. Very helpful. Good job. Well thought out and to the point. Hilarious. Inaccurate, but thanks for trying. Some are 80k, some are more, many are much less...
If it’s a new battery and won’t stop giving the message, you can disconnect the negative (black) ground cable on the battery of the truck itself. Wait a few minutes and put it back on to reset the system. You don’t have to remove the battery, but this video shows how to disconnect the ground cable. Don’t do the red cable ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QIvi453fstI.html
My windshield leaks when we get a heavy rain It was replaced after a cracked windshield That’s when it started leaking So they replaced the windshield again, still leaks Any ideas if the issue?
The heat is an electrical heater in the seat, not air conditioning, and the ventilated seats are just an electric fan, not using the cars air conditioning either…
