Yeah, the only reason it's part of the pistol is that johnny had a flamethrower in his silver hand in the flashbacks and I guess they didn't want to take that away when you get to use the pistol again.
@@Saltier actually that's not true, at least for as far as the usage. What the melle actually is is using the fire from the flint as an attack. If you notice, whether you play as V or Johnny, it takes one ammo as if you still fired
Gets even crazier when you look up its background. Johnny wanted a custom piece to flatline cyberpsychos and basically gave the gunsmith a blank check. He liked the result so much he kept commissioning new pieces until he died, each one more powerful. The last of these hit as hard as an elephant gun and needed a cyberarm to fully utilize
@@gumbywithagun4293 Well patch 2.02 fixed the ass recoil and improved the damage So except for this specific great feature, it's good now Tho you can restore the good old one with a mod (which I did)
honestly loved this weapon the moment I saw it. it's reloads the spins and tricks just made this so good that I use it even for my melee stealth characters. add to that what I found in this video and it just keeps getting better
Actually there is a practical use for this. Enemies who can dodge bullets cannot dodge ricochets. So while fighting an enemy like that while low on health. Ricochet bullets at them from behind cover.
Patch 2.0 changed the weapon quite drastically but the mod "Borg Malorian Restored" makes the gun function how it did before patch 2.0 (I think anyways).
maybe not the most powerful gun in the game per-shot, but damn if it isn't silver-handedly the most satisfying and cool gun in the game. always stays equipped when I finally get it because it's just so good and versatile, especially the "shoot through walls" thing.
They nerfed tf outta this pistol after phantom liberty not only does it not allow to shoot through walls anymore it does significantly less damage Kurt hansens bald eagle pistol is the new silverhand gun
You gotta do the job “Chippin’ In” and one of Rogue and Johnny’s enemies is carrying it. Don’t kill him either and you can get johnny’s porsche 911 for free.
Not only nerfed it but totally destroyed it, the damange is average, the melee is useless and now consumes all of your ammo and now no piercing walls....they did dirty to by boy
With some realism, this is a pistol that 10/10 could exist in the real world as a heavily modified Deagle. Reloading could be difficult as there'd probably he a mag latch in front of the trigger guard and not something you could spin in a sexy way and drop mags. But it'd 100% real world viable if you forsake the 360° rotating bolt.
@@o-wolf honestly it does. i’ve been researching the weapon and how it is inspired from the same blaster. just a different take on it.. they can’t copy the same exact pistol for obvious reasons.
@@m1chaelmorton honestly I don't think they would (or could even) sue them for putting an exact replica of deckers pistol.. but aside from the wood finish grip there are zero similarities.. &I've watched blade runner (&2049) an unhealthy number of times.. Silverhands piece is not as rounded as deckers it's not the same length it doesn't have the forward mag chamber.. it doesn't use slide chambering.. it's not chrome lol.. I'm sorry.. but I'm just not seeing it. CDPR may have had it in mind when they were developing his hero weapon but if they did it obviously strayed very far from the inspiration.
@@m1chaelmorton Fallout New Vegas had a 12mm pistol that looked very similar to Decker's pistol. CDPR probably could have done the same but decided to go for something different. The Darra Nova revolver looks closer, probably because Decker's pistol was just a .44 revolver with an extra doodad attached. But the Malorian Arms 3516 is completely different
Do someone really used that ricochet thing? I was using power weapons only because i liked the "coolness" of using revolvers and big caliber handguns, still my main weapon was katana so i used the guns only when i couldnt reach someone with my blade
it's one of the collest looking pistols in the game imo with one of the revolvers right behind it, it's the one where you unload the drum cartridge on the bottom
Bros james bond realistically terrifying stealth weapon would be hard to figure out where someones shooting from through walls while it also richochets
After u complete the main three quests ie panam , vodoo boys / Judy , and takamuras ( basically complete ur missions ) u will end up at a hotel with Johnny and after the hotel thing u get a quest named Chipin in . Do that quest u get Johnny’s gun jacket and car plus unlocks Kerry’s side quests
To add to the other comment here i will say this: The car is completely missable if you make the wrong decisions. I wont spoil how to get it in case you wanna do the mission blind but if you just wanna make sure you get the car, then lemme know and ill let you know how to get it
@@or9422 I did actually wonder if this was the case when i first did the quest but i didn't want to risk it because the car is possibly the coolest in the game. Glad to hear its still possible to get for those who made different decisions. I was also very happy when i first made the choice to get the car, to find out that you can immediately go back on your choice and still get the car
I love the weapon but the dmg is... Lacking, even fully upgraded and with 100 percent crit chance and headshot multiplayer with cold blood I still find normal enemies who need like 4 critical headshots to finally be killed, granted, I also find enemies who get one tapped but how many enemies are just tanking the hits is alarming
With the more recent update it’s actually far stronger than in earlier stages of the game. It got a massive damage buff and higher crit/headshot damage multiplier. Got it around level 40 and was able to cap out the damage at 800 dps, and that’s only cause it has slow fire rate. But in terms of raw damage it can hit like a truck with some modifications and upgrading.
Its because Johnny's memories aren't exactly 100% true/honest. A lot of his memories were based on delusions, and his gun was one of them. You figure that out pretty fast after talking to both Rouge and Alt.
I would love to use it more but sadly on my both playthroughs it was significantly lower in DPS than my other weapons and it was hard for me to chose a worse weapon on purpose. It is really cool since it's a unique pistol, not just an iconic version of a standard one but there is no way to make it really good. I wish they've changed it and allowed you to use 20 technical skill or something like that to upgrade it so it actually can compete with your other guns. It should require high skill in crafting and a lot of money but it should be a possibility, it's sad that the legendary silverhand pistol is worse than some random gun an enemy dropped.
You need to put all your crafting points so when you do the upgrades it has more % damage plus you have to add damage mods to increase damage % - if you leave it as default like when you receive it, there's not much to it tbh
I didn't know about the combo, but I did know about the features. The melee actually doesn't make sense if you think about it. When you play as Johnny himself, it's very clear that the fire is coming from his lighter thumb, and yes he does have a literal lighter thumb, and his alcoholic breath. It just doesn't really make sense to me that fee has the fire attack on the melees. In fact you'll notice if you play both animations that they're quiet different from each other.
Its sooo cool but I like Yorinobu’s gun more. With legendary or highest you can upgrade, a silencer (any grade) and mod slots all damage increase mods it’s godly, and I can trigger finger it.
Before they updated the ricochet skill and the cyberware, ricochet kills were grossly overpowered. You could seriously 100% the entire game and one hit everything in sight without even being that accurate. You wouldnt even have to aim at an enemy and you'd still get the kill.
it's definitely the coolest weapon in the game next to those weapons you get over thousands of times when you play trough the game it is significantly more fun to use and getting the weapon is fun too
The saddest thing is that this isn't even a secret to people who played the game before like patch 1.3 or 1.2, because this used to be able to do this from long range just like Overwatch used to be able to. For some reason both weapons were nerfed significantly, and Johnny's pistol in particular took a massive damage nerf.
Only time it felt op was in the flashback where it one hit headshotted anyone. But when V finally gets it then it hits like a wet napkin for how cool it is. Hate it when devs mess with nerfs I'm a SINGLE PLAYER GAME
Anyway to improve the weapon to match your level? Can’t say how many times I’ve had to ditch my favorite guns because they don’t hit hard anymore or I find one that has a way higher damage output
