Stories and legends of the Wavertree district of Liverpool, recalled by Mike Chitty of the Wavertree Society on 19 October 1999. The interviewer is Helen Jacklin and the film was part of the Channel One Liverpool (cable TV) series 'Secret Liverpool'.

i grew up in waterloo street, they where magic days for me, i loved the history of wavertree, the monkswell was said to have a entrance or some way to get to childwall abbey.

there is a house on one o the drive's, not sure if north or south drive that has an ancient urn above the front door .

I used to live in Mossley Hill and that play ground was a regular stop on the way to Old Swan on the 99 bus.
