They need to make one for California. That holds like 16 magazines with there High Capacity laws

Hey Chad, I am glad you mentioned the issues with the tray. I thought maybe you were going to ignore it, but you are very fair and unbias with your review, so thank you. When I have my full-size guns inside the safe and try to remove them, the tray gets in the way and actually damaged my rear sights, which I am not happy about 😡. For a $500+ safe I expected Vaultek should have done more testing with that. So there are a few options: only put compact or subcompact guns inside the safe with the full-size guns on top of the trays, or remove the tray entirely and put any size gun inside the safe, or do as you say and be careful to remove the gun (which I don't think is ideal if you find yourself in a bad situation). As far as mounting the safe, I give it an F rating. The mounting is extremely difficult. The safe is not big enough to get up in there with your power drill and drill, so you end up manually screwing by hand, and even that was difficult--given the placement of the holes. And mounting the safe down? Don't even think about it. I ended up with stripped screws (only 2 are provided) and was disappointed with the lack of thinking put into this safe. The safe overall is a great safe in terms of quality built, but the size should have been at least 3 inches wide and taller to accommodate full-size guns and mounting issues. Given the issues I've encountered I give a score of 7/10.

Make this in a sbr friendly size able to hold extra magazines and at least 2 pistols and it will be a best seller.

Thats a Goods amount of money for a small safe, but it has some good features.

I agree with everyone here as far as your reviews, they are excellent. I have one but it is the VT10i in the camouflage color. I love it. I love the technology, the entry ways, plus I take it to the range with me. Mine has 4 ways to get in. I use biometrics. The keys I keep them inside the safe. Spent $255 on it but peace of mind is worth it, specially when my grand kids love sleeping more in my bed then theirs. I do have to say with the app I also noticed that while the grand kids are in the house I tuck the safe in my night stand drawer and the app does not pick it up in the drawer and when going in the app to check the safe I also had to pair again. Once the app stayed open on my phone also, it always logged off on its own when leaving the app. But over all I do like. Mine fits gun with mag plus 2 additional mags.

The issue I see right now is the duration of the interior light is way too short and that door alarm was weird...Also, if they came out with a safe this style that was a bit smaller, that would be best. This thing is massive, which is great, but a smaller option would be even better. Personally, I would also like to see a cable with it because my needs right now do not allow for bolting it down. The noise the thing makes when it opens is kind of loud, too, which is an issue for opening during a situation when silence is key. It seems the company is very receptive to the opinions of customers and I hope improvements are continually made to these safes by the time I invest in one for myself. Only the best for my guns

I love the fact that it yells at you if you have possibly left the door open... I use the app for checking the battery of mine...

The only problem that I can see is why.."there is no GPS locating system within the APP. Which would be good and also can lead the police to where the Valutek is now lying after being stolen....

Do you have to hold the pistol storage container when removing a firearm?

For the app to work, u have to be in the same WiFi also u have to be hella close to the safe. Like in the same room of it. The fingerprint holds hella fingerprints but it fckin sucks, it can’t read shit. The 5digit pew on the safe is smooth, it glows hella fast and response fast. The keyfob is cool, it’s needs a 4 digit pin than u press the enter key. I would buy it for the brand and the looks but yea it’s hella money. Also the impact is hella sensitive, I have this safe under my table and if I slam something on the table. That shit goes off.

Organization is key which is why the design appeals to me. In my current safe, there is no organization like this one, but I am able to store my ammo in it. I know this safe is not big enough for 4 pistols, 8 mags and 500 rounds, so where do you suggest storing your ammo?

What would one mount it on? Seems like it would have to be on something that is extremely solid, not just a dresser or night stand.

Glad GLS mentioned some vulnerabilities. Five access points equals five vulnerabilities, the worst being Vaultek's use of cheap Chinese key locks, which can be opened in under 10 seconds by a novice with a readily available tool. It will take more time accessing the key lock than picking it, which defeats the purpose of a safe.

I'm sorry but for $100 more I got my liberty safe which holds much more along with long guns. I can't see why anyone would spend that type of money on something so impractical.

Thats alot of money to pay for a safe that you use a keypad to access. My Barska biometric safe is 1/3 of the price and works 100% of the time.

32 lbs is not seriously heavy. Amsec has safes that size that are over 200 lbs...

Eight guns is hardly high capacity. I own several Vaultek products. Love them all, but they re definitely not high capacity.
