Just stopping in to thank Heather and Joe for editing and uploading stuff to RU-vid. It's hard to make actual streaming time proper for me, and I really enjoy being able to sift through what I can watch on the well organized channels. Also, Mail Time is so amazing content-wise. Beej, if two notes are tied across the measure line and one of them has a sharp, flat, or natural sign before it (accidental), it carries over the measure line. Otherwise, the measure line would reset that accidental back to what the key signature says. So in the example you showed, it would be eight beats of A Flat (Ab).

I grew up near the Bristol Caves, but never went until I was an adult. It was a really amazing cave system, and the guy who took us on the tour was very knowledgeable about the recent history of the caves, as well as some young-earth creationism stuff that really had me smiling and nodding.

Graham, half the fun of reusing boxes when giving gifts IS making people think it's what the box said, then everyone being pleasantly surprised it's not. My daughter did this to her cousin, who was all excited that he would be getting some spool of PLA material for his dad's 3D printer. (Don't remember what the actual gift was. Think it was a gift card.) For his birthday the following month, I pleasantly surprised him with a box that my RTX 3050 graphics card came in, knowing he was collecting parts to build a new PC. Don't worry, I wasn't that cruel to give him another gift card. It was a Samsun SSD (still computer parts, and probably about the same price) and a starting set of Fate RPG books and dice. One of these years, I'm going to fulfill the threat of the "Nesting Dolls: Gift Box Edition".

I gave those very dried, flavored crickets to my uncle, who is a university professor, for Christmas. His plan was to put them into a bowl on his desk, and when students come in, to just gesture to them and say "Feel free to help yourself." I should really get an update on that.

As a Pennsylvania native who grew up crossing Lancaster to visit my grandparents, I can tell you it's pronounced "Lan-kiss-ter"! Also, if you ever get the chance, see if you can try root beer from an Amish farm; it's absolutely delicious and ruined normal root beer for me forever!
