We had 17+ kt winds in Seattle, so I used the Nisqually flats area to find calmer water and track down a new life species.
Here are the videos I mentioned. Big thank you to these channels for showing the techniques and locations so I could catch a new life first!

What are your opinions on the Revolution 13, especially its stability? I'm debating between it and the Compass. Thanks.

Good question! You probably noticed I own both. The revo is about 1-1.5 mph faster in my experience. So, you can get around/troll faster and easier. I, of course, cant find the video but there is a good description about primary and secondary stability. Essentially, wider more stable feeling kayaks are harder to manually tip. While narrower, tippier kayaks are less prone to being flipped by large waves coming at you from the side. You would just lean into the wave and get a good splash but stay upright. If you plan to do trips closer to shore and carefully monitor weather, a wider kayak might be great. If you need to get to places really quickly or troll for miles and miles and might take on really rough water you might like the revo style kayaks. I’m more the latter. If you want to add any gear (e.g. a fish finder) you would have to install the L track or h rails yourself on the revo. That said, L track isn’t that durable. I used it for years and caught a lot of salmon but it did eventually wear out. If you’re going on the sound, I definitely recommend orange either way. That’s the most visible to my eye. So you’re less likely to get hit by a boat. I can tell by the way boats react to me that I’m visible for about 2 miles, which is a huge safety asset.

Wanting to catch some flounder in area 10 Edmonds on a small boat. Any pointers about the areas and depth to target them. Thank you!

Good question. I’m far from an expert myself, but starries are typically by areas where rivers meet salt water. The two main areas I know about are Bremerton and nisqually. That said there are two areas that meet that profile somewhat close to there. Due east of gedney island is an area with a massive, shallow flat area with a drop off right by it and it appears to be fed by a river. I would be a little surprised if there weren’t starries there. Livingston bay has about the same profile as well. I’m half tempted to give it a shot myself now. Let me know how you do!

Just reread. If you are just looking for any flounder I’d go to any sandy point and drop down in 85’ water. The rig I described in this video should be just fine.
