Nick's t-shirts are always a chuckle! Cameron's strength in hauling that plywood to the top floor was eye-opening, and Dan's editing this was well done. It's been an eventful, productive couple of weeks!
Congratulations to you for your huge work together. What à courage you have !!! I am so proud of you !!! I am 74 years old and live in Tours. I hope to see thé end of your renovation... Every Dday
Nick is amazing how he can read the situation, spatial understanding at the best plan of attack, know instinctively the physics of how things will move (like kerplunk and tetris), and takes all the necessary precautions. Excellent.
What a heart warming vid. In about a year Dan has built a fabulous team, a great base of followers and contributors and now has momentum to achieve the dream. Cool or what!!!!
We are all so proud of you Dan!!! You and the rest of the team have achieved so much, even the smallest of changes that you make takes the chateau one step closer to being reborn…….
Nick has a business to run, Cameron is a employee. So pretty sure Dan pays them a well deserved paycheck! But still. They are there to work hard, to help Dan out, First. A beautyful Band Of Brothers appear before our eyes, Love this Channel.
Friends like Calvin (who gives up his holiday to work), Nick and Cameron are worth their weight in gold in helping you to achieve your dream of restoring this forgotten Chateaux. The transformation in this unloved building is astounding. It is as though you have given it it's soul back and it's character is returning.
Nicely put! (Nick has a business to run, Cameron is a employee. So pretty sure Dan pays them a well deserved paycheck! But still. They are there to work hard, to help Dan out, First. A beautyful Band Of Brothers appear before our eyes, who we LOVE to watch!)
I hope that you make that turret room an office once more! With a view like that, it’s be an amazing place to edit RU-vid videos. And the idea of a telescope is perfect!
Dan, I recall when we first became aware of you as the Dan in the green van and the gardener of that other chateau...and what you did for their gardens was so impressive! And you could cook too! And then you turned a dilapidated out building into a family home implementing skills you learned as you went along (and it helps to have a master carpenter for a friend). And now, only a year later, trees and rubble have been removed from the interior and you can stand on the top floor! Because "procrastination" is not in your vocabulary, at the age of 75, I have high hopes of seeing your chateau completed and open for visiting friends/guests. PS: Thanks for adding two new words to my vocabulary: pointing and noggins!
I’m so proud of myself, I now know what noggins are 😂. Unbelievable progress, but so much more to go. Roof and electric and plumbing and so on. By the way Dan’s restraint of not using bad language is admirable, I’m doing it all while watching lol😂
Cameron is like an iron man, his strength is never ending. Nick, is like a Duracell battery, he keeps on going and Dan, the amazing has no fear stunt man . An absolute Stirling job all three of you. What an absolute achievement over the last two weeks. Loving being on the journey with you. Great to watch as per usual.💗🇬🇧
The coolest thing for me about watching people bring these chateaux back to life is to imagine the people who once lived in them, what was their story, what would they say if they could see it now, your effort to restore it, and the thousands watching around the world ❤
Well done Dan, not only do you, and Nick and Cameron, graft hard all day - but then you in the evening spend time editing your social media. and the next day still smiling and enthusiastic...... yeah ❤
Hurray for NOGGGGGGINS!! This is a Big Deal ❤ 😎 Edited: I am absolutely loving Nick's t-shirt collection, he's just the perfect amount of cheeky with them. Can't wait for more as the project continues 😊
I hope you read this before you screw down your floor OSB. Wood shrinks over time, steel doesn't. By making your wooden joists flush with your steel beams by cutting tabs you are creating future humps in your floors. I learned this the hard way and spent a fortune shimming and releveling floors in an old commercial building I converted. You must leave the top of your wood beams proud at least 1.5 cm above the steel to allow for shrinkage...Good luck and I love your channel. Denis in Canada
The top floor is going to be amazing. Not sure if I'd want to climb four flights of stairs and make it the master bedroom though lol , what a quandary I would love to be in
My favorite room now also, including the grand entry hall with its beautiful columns and stunning floor tiles safely stacked away. Will love it even more with a few more floors in beneath Dan's bottom and the bricks above nice and stable. More nerve wracking chores ahead. Be extra safe Dan!
One of a kind channel, the best so far of an amazing unbelievable restoration project by a courageous Englishman with great vision; a family man, a builder, a carpenter, a videographer, among so many other talents that easily brings him so close to our hearts. Ok, all that goodness , my humble prediction, close to a million subscribers by mid 2024!
This is the coolest project on all of RU-vid right now, and for the last couple of months if we are being objective. Thanks for the entertainment and consistency, Dan!
Congratulations Dan on making it to the top level! The basement cleanup might not be sexy but is absolutely necessary. Thank you for sharing the great views from the office. I can see you having a desk and a telescope there too. Cheers!
Wow amazing progress Dan. Nick and Camron have done so so much with those machines. Not to mention the way Camron man handled those plywood sheets! 😮 You have quiet the team there. Tell Nick I’m loving all his shirts. Very funny. Loved the video. See ya tomorrow. 👋🏻👋🏻
@ 4:00, THAT was a sphincter clencher, for sure!!! Glad everyone is ok! Wow. 😮 Then, when you were pushing the particle boards up onto the joists, and saying “this could go one of two ways”, I’ll bet I wasn’t the only one telling you that it needed to go the easiest way possible for you; just like us older folks brought Tinker Bell back to life in Peter Pan.😂😂😂
We play the ol' 'this could go one way or another' game all the time. Mostly, it works out the easy way, often when it is least expected! I imagine lots of other viewers play that same game too. LOL
The sound of work going on down stairs while you are measuring and cutting boards. Thats sounds pleasing. Also having a team you can trust is reassuring. Have a beautiful weekend.
BALCONY TO BALCONY................now that is what you call INCREDIBLE ✅✅✅✅✅✅✅ Apart from the massive progress you’ve made structurally to the chateau, we congratulate you on your editing and videography day afterBest viewing on RU-vid 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Wow there are no words!!! Felt choked up when you sat on that turret floor .. King of your castle!!! Amazing team work you guys worked so hard on that monumental clean up. Huge respect to you all absolutely amazing viewing thank you so much. ❤❤❤❤❤😊
Love what you are doing. If I was younger I would have loved doing something like this. I like seeing young people go out and do something amazing, living their life as an adventure instead of falling into the normal grind of a job. I'm excited to see when the roof goes on. That's what I'm really really waiting to see. Then it will be basically dried in from the weather. Well, except for the windows. The doors. And little bits here and there. But yeah!!
Cameron is an absolute machine, I especially liked it when Nick tried to get him to calm down when hoisting one of the boards and it kept hitting the scaffolding. A perfect example of an old hand trying to tame down a young enthusiastic buck😅
Wow, you and Nick and Cameron are tough acts to follow! What a great set of mates you have! I am so happy for you to see this page turning! Great job Everyone!
The remnants of the wooden windows and doors are quite fascinating to see. It will be a fun stage to eventually rebuild them one day, as they really add to the character and architecture. of the build.
What a great accomplishment clearing all that debris. Well done! Nice t-shirt Nick. Keep letting us seeing them. Also, the dogs seem to enjoy roaming free among the construction area.
Great channel ! Great project ! Great help ! You do more work, less talk ! And that''s the reason your viewer numbers are increasing ! Fantastic camera shots too !
Cameron is a true Viking, worth ten men and so strong. Nick is a master on that digger another Viking warrior. I wish they were with you permanently. Dan you are brave working at that height, when it comes to heights and balconies I am a wall hugger. I will come and cook for you but I would need a room no higher than the second floor. Maybe one day when you have the Chateau almost finished, you can have volunteers like LeLande does.
Safety hint screw a small block of wood onto the floor sheets for the sling to grab and prevent slipping. Love the progress. When does the flag get unfurled?
Amazing Dan and the team too. Al lot of work in two weeks. It’s just looking brilliant. I have had a tough time this year and watching you progress with the chateau has lifted my spirits. What an amazing project And an inspiration.
Just wonderful! The debris is out, a floor in the turret and lets not forget...noggins. I even feel a sense of accomplishment and all I have done is watch in my roofed home. Congratulations all!
