Elkan not only will give an impact on Ipswich Town social media if this club let him play frequently, but this guys also is asset for the club because his popularity increases his value market, Can you imagine if the club is going to be sell him 15 million in 2 years later? What a player asset!
McKenna cannot and will not pick players because they are popular. He should and will pick the best players available for every given game. On that basis, short of major injury issues, I can’t see Ella get much, if any, first team experience this coming season. Best for him is probably a season loan to the right club!
He has promise but in this league, in addition to football ability, defenders need to be very physical …. he urgently needs to add that side to his game or he will be targeted by the opposition. In another game he could have cost us two goals yesterday despite us being so on top!
If anyone ever needs to see why Celina should be coming back, look at where our goals come from. He is always involved up and down the pitch. Best technical player we have had in about 15 years
Nice to end on a high, but you can’t help feeling this was a season of missed opportunities. 8 matches in before we got our first win, and then consistently dropping points against the weakest sides in the league… really held us back in a season where, especially after Christmas, we looked like a team that deserved to go up.
A disappointing season to come 11th in the third tier in our third season with the money and support thrown at the club. The way we fell off the pace in the last six or seven games was particularly disappointing, and throwing away points time and time again. That said, there are clear signs of improvement and McKenna clearly has huge potential and organised the side far far better than did Cook and has better management abilities. We desperately need goal-scorers but if we can get that sorted then I would think that we should challenge for promotion.
