Join me for 3 days of hiking & hammock camping on a backpacking trip in Tennessee's Big South Fork Nat'l Rec Area. www.sintax77.com
For this backpacking adventure, I'll be breaking the hiking trip into two parts. Part 1 is mostly in the woods and at camp and is more of a hanging in the woods, conversational type video. In Part 2 we will traverse into the higher regions of Big South Fork, hitting the ridges for views of the Cumberland Plateau's sandstone bluffs and Big South Fork River.
(GPS Data will be released with Pt 2)

The gear list used for this trip along with discussion on each item can be found in my accompanying 2017 Ultralight Backpacking Gear List Blog Post and Video.

Sintax, I noticed you were sans trek poles. Down here in the south in warm weather, just cut you a skinny little 3' stick. I call them "web wands". :)

I camped at that first site last year - excellent spot and close to the water.

Just adding a square of aluminum foil to your cook kit would add next to nothing in weight. But gives you a clean surface to place on a rock for cooking. Just an idea. I'm sure you have thought of it. I by far have less experiences than you do.

Awesome hiking adventure from Tennessee 👍🏻, also when I’m walking a trail during the months of August through October I always carry a stick now due to running into spider webs while on my way to the deer stand in the dark before the sunrise. I’m looking forward to seeing more hiking adventures. Thanks for sharing, enjoy and have a Great week !!! Danny

It's almost time for yours and whiterook hunting cabin can't wait. I'm from Philly and your videos have completely got me pumped to start hiking and camping. All ready doing hikes through Philly on the streets and pennypack just trying to build my stamina up to try a through hike on the A T trail next March 1st. Hopefully can accomplish it in less then 5 months. I'm looking forward to documenting all my success and failures on my newly created you tube channel. Thank you for all the blue collar content you put out. Keep them coming

Great to see you in Tennessee! You didn't get to see much of the awesome features of Big South Fork on your first day, but I'm sure that's coming up in Part 2 ...
