Hiking Up the Famous Mist Trail!! Yosemite National Park

I wake up in a new campground called Tamarack Flat. Very beautiful place. Then I head out for the day to hike up to Vernal Falls via the Mist Trail. Once at the top, I decided to take a detour back down and take the John Muir Trail, which is a bit longer.
This is such a beautiful area. The John Muir Trail takes me above both Vernal and Nevada Falls and treats me to a breathtaking view. It was a very grueling hike and I was worried I might not make it back to the valley before it got dark but it turned out great.

As Ausia would probably say, “This hike is awesome sauce!” I join the chorus of commenters in saying that you not only teach and share your knowledge with us as we are walking with you; it deepens the experience... So many trolls text disparaging comments about us older folk who live vicariously through videos like this, but it IS true that a lot of us can no longer do such a hike as this one proved to be! Thank you, Bex!

I have commented Bex on how impressed l am with your cinematography. This time l was struck by how gifted you are in selecting the scenes you highlight for us. Yes l know a two dimensional format struggles to truly show the beauty your eyes are seeing. But your narrative, both professional as in your guide & personal, really helps to make up the difference. I really enjoyed the light upbeat music you selected as background for us to listen to. I will never visit these beautiful places, so l too really appreciate the gift you are sharing with us. 😊

I've been to the park at least 30 times and have never seen a bobcat. How nice you encountered it. I've seen deer, bear, coyote, bald eagles, racoons, squirrels, jays, marmots, ravens, etc etc etc... but no bobcat. I'm envious.

Thanks so much! Your videos are like works of art! I especially like when you capture the “ golden hour” shots. The sunlight on those rock formations and the shadows are incredible. Wish I could paint some of that amazing scenery! I’m 70 , so, I don’t think I’ll get there! Thanks for taking us along.

That was a real work out for me , I had to stop video a few times to get my breath back ? LOL ha ha , Bex you do such a good job , ... when I see you smile with pride , having made it to the top , gladden my heart , somehow you add that little extra .. I think it's called star dust .. that brings all the beautiful scenery together into one big extravaganza , ... just love it !!!

I lived in Yosemite for 3 seasons and it was one of my all time favorite jobs and the best memories, ever. If you do go and hike this trail, on the way back down, take the HORSE TRAIL. much easier and way faster. Also another great tip would be to drive to Yosemite Village and park there and just hop on the FREE SHUTTLE, that runs like every 10 minutes. With so many cars on the road, it takes forever to get from one place to another. The shuttle stops at all the major stops and camp grounds. They have their own lane, so it only takes a short ride to the next stop. Do the 2 hour horseback riding thing too. No excuses about being old, etc. I am 70 and if I can do it, you can do it, LOL..Enjoy you trip to Yosemite..Judy

My daughter hiked from there to Mt. Whitney once. She took a wrong turn and did the Mist trail instead of the John Muir. LOL Turned out okay once she figured it out. Great video Bex!
