Good boy Leo! Every dog is different, but when I would get in towns to do resupply last year, I'd always buy a pound or 2 of ground beef and feed Luna a pound at night and another pound the next day to get her some extra calories! You'll figure it all out! keep it up!

Typical AT fashion, fire that you can climb=clouds moving in to cover the view. 😄That's one tough hiker to do the trail barefoot. I kick my shoes off as soon as I get home but not sure about trying to hike that way.

The video of the mist moving in were amazing! You got a glimpse of a view. We just returned from Ireland and completing the Kerry Way which was awesomely fun, hard at times, but Leo the hiking dog shirt was there the entire way! My daughter carried him in her pack every day. We had beautiful sunny weather for the most part. Magnificent views and majestic mountains.

Great to see you finally got into a shelter. Unfortunately, it's enclosed when apparently the weather was decent. Hopefully, you'll catch a break soon in the shelter situation. Different type of trees and greenery are pretty and yep it is muddy not only from the rain but from the tree coverage that keeps it muddy. No sun to dry everything up. Poor Leo get blames for a lot. Beauty in views are in the eyes of the person seeing them. Just a hike in the woods many people don't do let alone see because they live, work and play in a cement jungle.

We are way out of order still with viewing, but don't want to miss a mile! Barefootin' the AT is kinda off the sensibility charts in my book. Hope your knee is fine soon. I am curious about Leo's feet. Hikers go through multiple pairs of shoes - is there anything you do to protect Leo's feet. Have ticks been a problem for him in those grassy miles?

I’m guessing you had Leo on leash when you stepped over the log. We’re there too much activity to let him freely walk ahead? I for one like well behaved dogs to be off leash. Is he tiring of the trail a bit? Maybe he could visit w/ mom some. And, you too. There’s no pushing the finish time so remember to enjoy the suck for both of you. Stay safe & love on Leo.
