@molly5292 WhAt??? How can you not like Lucy??? Lucille Ball made the show. Ethel was a little annoying in the show. She had no backbone and she was rude to her husband.
@@LolaGrace03 liking Lucy has NOTHING to do with it....l e been in the theatre all my life..had leads in over fifty musicals and plays.... and your SUPPORTING cast is VERY IMPORTANT..w/o.good cast members it doesn't matter how good ur STAR IS...AND as Lucy got older and divorced.she was HORRIBLE to work with...Richard Burton wanted to kill her...she was bossy .overbearing and at times very unkind to VIVIAN VANCE...read about it!!!...Ethel was wonderful and it was her character to be ticked off.at Fred..IT WAS WRITTEN THAT WAY......I can tell ur very UNFAMILIAR how comedy and ACTORS work...l worked in summer stock with some Wonderful actors coming from Hollywood......ETHEL RULES
@sweetbean9218 It's my understanding that Lucy actually was indeed choking on the Grape in that scene, but still finished filming. Loved that episode.
There's also that Vegamita... (can't spell it even today) episode where Lucy got a bit snockered on taking too many doses while doing the commercial. 😂
Very possible even if Fred was portrayed to be in his 60s in the show his mother could’ve been 80 years old. They had kids young back then. Even if Fred were 70 in the show his mother may have been alive. What a lucky guy to have a mom for 70 years of his life.
Vivian Vance and William Frawley despised each other irl. And yet they played husband and wife on the show so successfully and were a great supporting cast.
One of my all-time faves. Watched it from '50s on into the '80s. When I watched it as a kid, then an adult, I used to fall off the couch from laughing so hard. 😂😅❤
I still watch this show all the time! It just makes me feel good! The four of them played off each other so well! Imo, this is the best tv show of all time! ❤
One episode I will never forget: when the guys go hunting and Lucy insists on coming with them. It was hilarious when she shoots and a cooked duck lands on the ground I laughed so hard. My other favorite is when Lucy hires a tutor so Ricky speaks "perfect English" to the baby. The scenes with him and that professor are pure gold. He was so funny and those 2 had me laughing in tears
I don’t think my parents were even born when this show came out but all these years later I can see these clips and laugh. It’s such good banter and zingers
I will always love, I Love Lucy!! As many times that I've seen thi's show I still can laugh. This show is one of the best show that came on TV. I still will watch the reruns♥️🥰🙂😂😊❤️
Ya Lucy was not the funny, happy silly lady u see on her shows. She really was a drill sergeant for rehearsals and a controlling mother when she WAS with them I read she was expecting perfection. Ya, I agree with ur desi drinking remark. He was a man who fooled around alot that's why they finally divorced. She still loved him but couldn't stand his unfaithfulness anymore. Sorry for my rattling on. Read alot on them Chris from Michigan
This show is still funny now. After all these year's all 4 of them together were great team. It's just funny when you think about the fact that Lucy and Eatho did not like each life. Yet they were able to make great comedy. 😊❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Would you believe... Lucille Ball's first choices for Fred and Ethel were Gale Gordon (later "Mr. Mooney) and Bea Benaderet ("Kate Bradley," PETTICOAT JUNCTION).
