A discussion on ant eaters leads to Alan revealing an interesting titbit on a bartender he knows. Taken from QI A episode 1 - Adam Featuring Hugh Laurie
that probably wasn't the face he made at the time. The cameras are fixed on each member of the panel, and various clips are cut in during editing. sorry.
The trouble with Americans is that they insist on attempting to display to all others what perfect, unsullied. moral beings they are. But moral choices depend on a full education on subjects, also, outside their frontiers.- something they mostly don't even recognise. And what they can't understand they consider best to denigrate, to avoid the humiliation at others laughing at their ignorance. Hahahahahahahahahahahaha.
Terry Kane I didn't. Did you know that a woman's 'clit' has 11x more nerve endings than a man's similar area? The vib was invented 12 yrs before the vacuum cleaner, also. :)
A step removed from the simple "I've got a massive tongue" type line, which brings about a fantastic pause of realisation if delivered right: bar manager I once worked for walked in, wicked grin on her face, and said to the new girl, "If you need me, I'll be over in corner. Licking my eyebrows."
@akaianc Yeah, but keep in mind that it so happens that a lot more American TV programmes air globally than British ones. So, many people outside the UK may know of Hugh Laurie because of that little extra episode on Friends and Dr House.
We also have opinions, and express them openly like you. The damage is done, people have read my comment and disliked it, for all intents and purposes I have completed my mission, made people feel as if I condescended them... unintentionally
@Theninjasarecoming Yeah explanations do ruin jokes. But I did understand the joke before I asked. I just doubted it because I wasn't laughing, yet everyone else was saying "It took me awhile before I got it" So I wasn't sure if that was supposed to be the joke or not. Anyways, yeah.
Lol I just realized that Rich Hall looks a bit like Hugh Laurie. After always seeing Rich Hall in that seat I had to do a double take. But I do realize it is Hugh Laurie in this one. Right? haha.
@lawnmower88 Please tell me you know who that is... That's Hugh Laurie. He used to be in a comedy double-act with Stephen Fry, and they did a number of TV shows together. He's currently in the States starring as Dr. House in "House". He's basically an icon in British television and comedy. In other words, he's quite a lot more than just a random extra in an episode of "Friends".
@Parkerkun tidbit* Lol I just checked, it seems like tidbit is the North American version of titbit, the original English term, therefore I apologize! I actually read "tidbit" in a novel by an English author, hence the assumption that it was correct. Oxford Dictionary has however instructed me otherwise, so... My bad.
you could seemingly hold your breath underwater for ages if you had one ear sticking up. You'd prob get neck ache from the angle you'd have to hold your head at though.
