@@SahanTheMighty Yeah it just seemed to be a couple of families with little kids in that section where I left my bag. I felt like it's not somewhere that thieves are looking to steal from. Not like some big tourist beach which would be easy pickings for them. No idea how I would have gotten back to Colombo with no money and nothing but the wet pair of boxer shorts I was wearing if it did get stolen though..... 🤷♂️
Dale Philip Eeeks. Sri Lanka’s love to help. Most of them are wannabe Red Cross warriors. They would band together and carry you to Colombo on their back if they had to. 😃 I remember walking around Amsterdam for half a day and then realising I had lost my wallet. That was terrifying. I even stopped some cops on bikes for help (Albeit, considering the locality, they probably thought I was high and that’s how I lost my wallet.) After a few minutes of feeling sick to my core, and rushing around to back-track my path, it dawned on me - Earlier that day, I had hidden my wallet in my socks under my trousers 🤦🏽♂️ - Something I sometimes do when I’m in high risk areas. Slightly amusing, and embarrassing at the same time.
@@SahanTheMighty Damn, I also hide money and cards in my socks when I'm in a hotel room that doesn't have a safe. I thought I was a genius but I guess it must be a common hiding place. I'm going to have to think of something different now.... 😂
I love it the way you chat to locals and get to know them. Far better than a lot of vlogs I've seen. In fact better than a lot of tv travel shows. Brilliant. Keep up the good work.

14:30 so true Dale....I live here in the U.K. and look at your vids in Indonesia/Sri Lanka/India etc and especially with Sri Lanka it’s got stunning beaches/great landscape cheap quality food...overall has to be said much better value in terms of lifestyle/scenery etc plus people seem so friendly and not perpetually stressed and frustrated with life like they are over here and west generally!! The Sri Lanka Flag was introduced in 1978 with a Golden Lion holding a sword. The green represents Muslims, while the yellow recognises Hindus. It really is a cool flag #lovesrilanka

Dale I really enjoyed Edinburgh castle and the most warm welcome that the people of Scotland gave us. My two sons have just come back from Sri Lanka. Just a answer about the Sri Lanka's flag. It is one of the oldest flags which indicates the three main minority groups: Green for Muslim,orange for Tamil. The lion has been part of the flag since 487 BC when ,prince Vijaya and his retinue came from India. There were advanced native people who had built irrigation tanks prior to vijaya's arrival to save rain water but the tendency has been to elaborate on the Indian visitors and portray natives as under developed.

The reason why restaurants are called Hotels is because when the British ruled, the places you’d go out to get good cooked meals would be in the hotels (as sit down restaurants didn’t really exist). The name Hotel is now associated with restaurants.
