@@noel7769 except she's gone on countless interviews to say this movie physically hurt to make and made her sick to say the things she said, but whatever.
It makes sense in the context of her era. She is racist and segregationist but she would probably not call for violence against Black people like the racists she is refering to, she believes in the superiority of her own kind but wouldn't throw away the comfortable status quo of Mississippi at this time.
Some blacks can't even watch this movie because it's heartbreaking and makes them angry. This wasn't too long ago that this was going on, and to think there are still people around that are like this.
I believe it was the wealth that really encouraged these others to think so highly of themselves. Just so happens the south retained the rural industries so they had more money than the factories up north.
This movie hits home to me so much. My grandmother lived this life in Mississippi. She spent her youth raising white children being treated like garbage by the people she worked for and was fired by them. Then went home to realize that her own children were strangers to her. They left Mississippi and moved to Northwest Indiana. My grandfather got a job at the nuclear power plant and they along with my grandmother's brother bought a farm. They got to spend the later years devoted to family.
It’s a part of history and shouldn’t be forgotten. It’s not meant to be a fun lighthearted movie, its point is to educate people so that we learn from it. Not all history is good but it still needs to be told truthfully so that it doesn’t, hopefully, get repeated and we learn from it ❤
You mean how white people are being treated like a lesser human on social media? That we have to be put through „white guilt“ and excuse ourselves for being white? History is repeating itself but the tables are turned. Instead of being slaves, it‘s more like the e modern version of it.
I will never understand why people hate sum one just because of colour of there skin 😭😭 it's just so wrong. This was brilliant movie but very sad that humans we're treated so badly 😭😭😞. We're all the same bleed the same & will all die & hopefully god will forgive those who did soooo wrong. God bless greetings from Belfast Ireland 💚💚💚💚🙏💚🙏
I used to not take Bryce Dallas Howard seriously because she is a nepo baby. Her dad is THE Ron Howard But after this…she made me hate her so much that she MUST be a good actress
She had to really do what she did ! She wasn’t a theft but she did not have any choice back then ! She didn’t want to do it at all ! But she at least wanted her children to both go to college and get out of that racist town and become successful and not have to go through what her family is going through. I would have taken the jewelry as well if I was in her case
The reaction and consequence for taking what was, if you read the book, a garnet ring not a ruby nor of quality and Hilly tossed it when her mother gave it to her because it wasn’t a ruby. She took a shitty birthstone that bitch didn’t even want and she was brutally arrested like a murderer and then was probably in jail for three years before even getting a “speedy” trial. The bastards who murdered Ahmad Arbery sat at home for months before they finally got arrested and it was kid gloves at least they’ll never get out. That’s modern times, people who steal 5 dollars are arrested and tased, people like Bernie Madoff get to turn themselves in
@@hollyeve2465 as a black woman she had no way of making enough money to make her children have a chance in life, the reasons of their racists actions dont matter
