Precise and to the point. Easily the best comparison video I have seen till date 👍. Bought the cb350 seeing ur reviews and thoroughly enjoying every bit of it💥
Planing to buy a new bike, was hesitant between himalayan and CB350. But your comparison points covered my ambivalence. Will definitely go for Honda CB350. Thank you!
Your review is spot on. Excellent coverage. But if some one is just listening the audio, it is irritating to just hear this one this one and we don't know which is this one!
Lovely comparision, all points covered! I've recently purchased a 390 ADV but I constantly keep feeling that a CB350 is needed in my garage because it's one flawless machine...
Probably the best and the most thorough bike comparison video I've ever come across. Thank you, Pradeep, for making such a detailed and informative video. This is the second time I am seeing it. Haven't seen any new videos from you recently. Looking forward to more videos from you.
Really enjoyed watching this comparison, upto the point and no unnecessary talk, I belive honda wins as a do it all carefree machine while Himalayan as a purpose built tourer and off roader.
To the point, I had done similar comparisons with my shortlisted bikes. CB350 is clear winner if you want a single bike to do all duties of City, Highways and little of adventure with reliability of Honda
Pradeep garu - thank you for this timely video. I am in the dilemma of choosing between these two bikes. My head also says CB350, but the heart tugs at the Himalayan. In one of your earlier videos, you mentioned about the concept of "hawa" - attitude. The Himalayan has oodles of it; that, and the confidence that the bike can handle any terrain thrown at it, make me lean ever so slightly toward the Himalayan.
Was in same dilemma while choosing amongst these 2 bikes and rightly said, logically CB seems an answer however heart shouts Himalayan 😁. Finally went ahead with CB. Enjoying this wonderful bike thoroughly
I have experience with both, Cb is the best. Himalayan just attract, but isn't a practical bike. I bought a himalayan just rid at 3000km and a year old for 1lakh. But struggled in selling for the same price. Sold it within a month. Now i own a cb 350.
I too was in dilemma when opting himalayan/xpulse 200. But xpulse 200 did everything what himalayan could do at half the price so bought xpulse 200. It was the best for bangalore pothole roads. Litterely glide over. Excellent mileage. Only con was poor high speed and uncomfortable seat. But after pradeep and vinay bought cb350. I just took a test ride and sold my xpulse 200 and bought cb350 and added Split seat as pradeep suggested in his video and I must say it is the best all rounder bike. Cruises effortlessly with luggage at 110 kmph. Split seat is a boon while riding 500 plus km per day. Traction control is good while riding in slippery. surfaces. Clutch is super soft. Suspension is good after changing it to 1 step/click. It's softer now. Himalayan and xpulse weight you can feel all the time its right near the handle bar or a top heavy but cb 350 weight distribution is just perfect. You won't feel the weight. In cb350 only con is the tyres and lack of low end torque while riding incline. Tyres are good but it could be better. Does not provide adequate grip on gravel or wet roads but traction control keeps the bike in control. While riding uphill you have to keep on toggling between first and second gear due to loss of power (ecu update from Honda will fix it) . Honda team has confirmed it will fix front fender issues by October. So no more water splash when riding in rainy season.
thanks man, you will love yours when you get it. Honestly if today, I had to give up my bikes (CB Himalayan and Versys), and could keep only 1, it would be the CB.
Your reviews is as good and smooth as Honda engine or clutch … butter smooth comparison. Learning’s for others. No Bakwaas ,, to the point .. spot on. Thank you 👍🏻👍🏻
You have done the comparison very well . In fact you have really stood out different when compare to all other people . This is the way people really wanted to know but nobody does it like the way you have provided the details . Kudos to you and your home work on providing the complete comparison . Great !! Looking forward more videos and updates from you .
Superb coverage in absolute layman terms and by layman I mean a simple average bike user and not a bike tech buff. My biking days were almost 20 years back but now my young kids have taken a liking to bike rides and hence I had just today taken a test drive of Himalayan and the CB350. Your comparison is crisp and simple and yes a clear winner for me too, the Honda CB350 for the simple pleasurable rides for my kids. Way to go Motoccino 👍
thanks so much - comments like these, really make my day! 😃🙏 I know fully well how much the kids love being on 2 wheelers. In my case, my two girls need no convincing on outings if we are taking the bike or the activa out, but need a lot of convincing if we have to take the car...lol
Just 1 point. After 2-3 years the smoothness in so compressed engine of 250adv will wear off I guess , Honda will be smooth. Top end performance for adv 250 is just 10kmph more , but you pay 50k more for that. Suggestion: you want an offroader , are young and don't carry pillion too much . Go for adv 250. Else highness. I am in same dilemma as you are , the above statement is my current thought state . Might get more biased towards adv250 too coz that is some bike. As of now , one which is more smoother wins.
I woke up this morning to this video. This video had answered almost all the questions I had in mind. Thanks a bunch. Have you switched on to your stock mirrors on CB350? Any reasons? And... How are you feeling after installing the sahara seat covers? Many thanks for your inputs brother!!!
Sahara seats is very good, initially I had ordered them with added foam, but the foam made the seat look ugly and shapeless, almost like a pillow. Then Sahara took it back, removed the foam and sent it back. Its perfect now. The look is amazing, the comfort also increases slightly. I have Sahara for my Himi too. On the stock mirrors, just changed it, for sometime, only for a change!
Really a relevant and thoughtful way of comparing 2 different bikes carrying almost same price tag. Sir you owe both of them or Himalayan belongs to somebody else in your acquaintance.
Thank you so much for making so much effort to explain all the points in a detailed way!! I am confused between ktm 390 ADV and Honda CB350 (anniv. edition). What are your thoughts, if I can buy only one, out of the two?? Your clarity of thoughts and to-the-point analysis helps immensely in understanding... Thank you once again and hope to see more content from you in the future!!
Thanks for a very detailed comparison of both these bikes. I guess they both have their individual personalities and roles in a biker's life. I would like to know your thoughts on the extension on the handlebar height and where to get it. You have mentioned the split seat is better in Honda and it does look more comfortable. I also hope that Honda will address the ECU issues on high altitudes. I am planning to purchase Honda once the monsoon is over and your inputs have certainly helped immensly. Thank you once again and hope to see some content from you in the future. Bes wishes
Very kind words and thanks for taking the time to comment, really appreciate it and will strive to bring quality creations on the channel, yes, undoubtedly the split seat is much better, for me and the wife! My handlebar raisers are from Carbon Racing!
Very informative video covering all points but i have a question regarding rusting issues faced by hness and cb350rs owners. Have you faced any such issues. I bought a cb350rs but i heard that chrome parts are having a rusting issue in the hness models.
It was fun to watch this comparison video and we were pretty sure about the outcome. Pradeep wakes up in the morning determined to make the CB350 a winner! :). Though a CB350 owner, let me bring out the truth; in terms of popularity, Honda is nowhere closer to RE in India - as you mentioned in one of your earlier videos, RE is in the veins of every Indians and they're ready to accept the shortfalls! :)
thank you for such a wonderfull informative video would definately help me to choose me my bike was confused in choosing between them both ....will go for a cb 350 highness ....!!!
Loved your video. Very thoroughly made. So many parameters. Thanks for this. The background looks like my apartment basement parking lot with leaking water 😂.
Thanks a ton for your effort.. this video is what I was looking for.. I was daam confused between both of them. It's my first bike, and I have no plans for off-roading.. I guess Highness will serve the purpose for ocassional rides, a great value for money and serve longer.. I must say your content is NICHE 👍🏼
thanks for your kind words man! Really appreciate it and these words are the wind beneath my wings! Go for the Honda, I still enjoy mine 9 months into the ownership!
Hello sir, First of all, amazingly put video with super keen details. Kudos to that. I am currently confused with these two. As per your video, CB is a clear winner. But I am 6'1" ft tall and personally looking forward to get into long rides and a bit offroading. I'm no sucker for speed though. Although surely looking for a great machine with comfort and reliability. Heart goes for Himalayan, but not an "andha bhakt😅". Also can't ignore all the better aspects of CB. Please guide me as it's going to be my first bike.
The same doubt bro. Heart says Himalayan but due to reliability and quality control issues that himalyan owners are facing. Mind is saying cb 350, that can run for years without any Hassle. It would be great if you could help sir
The fact is ultimately you had to buy a Himalayan to fill the gaps with the CB. Respect to both bikes in their strengths. Excellent review as expected 🤝
Nicely covered all the factors of comparison Pradeep Sir. One more point can be added, seating ergonomics. In my opinion, riding ergonomics are spot on in case of CB350 whereas Himalayan's slightly rear set footpeg will be an issue for taller riders especially those who have more heighted legs. Therefore riding position becomes quite quirky on Himalayan where upper body is perfectly upright, arms relaxed but feet are rear set. Just my thoughts 😊
I actually thought exactly what you did before, but the rear-set pegs, are surprisingly not bothering me as much as I had thought. I don't even notice it.
@@Motoccino Then its a perfect bike for you Sir 👍. I assume that for majority of the population, Himalayan won't be any issue in terms of riding posture, well I am amongst those selected few 😊 who might feel Himalayan uncomfortable
Go for the CB. Your heart and mind are already sure of it! 😃. I personally dont like cruiser styled bikes, although I do prefer the gearing and torque of the REs over the CB, but otherwise the CB is a much more enjoyable bike overall. Of course, bear in mind I have never ridden the Meteor to date.
A strict no to offroad for cb350 due to the wheelbase and showa shocks. Scrapes belly like a dashchund 😂. At crawling speed the showa is very spongy, so while declining a rocky patch u r bound to hit everything down the way. The showas are unsettling btw 15kmph and 40kmph.
Hi sir, an excellent comparison video. Appreciate your effort. Can we install sahara seat ourself if we order? Can you make a short video of it if possible?
hello sir.. i would like to know your initial experience with split seats... i recently moved from stock to split for more pillion comfort... bt m feeling pain in my buttocks even on a 30 km ride....i did a 250 km ride on stock nd felt no pain... although on bumps split seat provide good resistance as u said in one of ur videos... my question is...did u face any discomfort at start nd later got used to it..or were u comfortable moment u sat on in.. prior to this tvs victor 2004 .. commuter bike was my bike... just for reference coz it also has long seat..
Pls do a Ride Review of Benelli Imperiale 400.. and ride comparison with CB350. Im confused between the 2. I'm looking for a mature old charm bike with laid back character. I feel your content is genuine hence I feel you would give ur sincere opinion about the same. Thanks in advance, and keep doing the great work that you do. Love your videos and the meticulous way you cover all the aspects. :)
Also I feel Imperiale is a highly underrated and misunderstood motorcycle in the Indian market. BTW I love both the motorcycles! My purpose: Mainly city with casual highway rides. Again want that old school feel over other things.
@@yskt728 you're right, I will try and ride around a Benelli Imperiale soon. In fact, the guy next to my parking lot has the Imperiale. I will probably involve him as well to get to know his ownership thoughts.
@@Motoccino Yes definatly you compared it objectively! was just thinking what bike should I go for in 2.5 lakhs and here you came with this video. thanks!
@@pavankanagi you might still want to wait till Aug 19th, when Honda is apparently coming up with a 200(?)CC adv-tourer, before you book your money! They will officially show it and release it on 19th.
Bro i was thinking which bike to go RE or CB after watching it videos is clearly for CB and i booked CB thanks for ur clear cut discription on bike videos..
All excellent points. However, now that the Scram has been announced, you might have to redo this comparison again by the year-end. Since your riding is presumably more road-focused, do you think the Scram would have suited you better? I guess it's possible to tell only after a test ride.
I would still have picked the Himi, I genuinely want a proper offroader, reason is roads and highways are getting a bit repetitive and monotonous, whereas the trails and the greens are virtually unexplored!
Lovely Video. Cb350 is the bike for me. Instead of saying this bike is good, you can just say CB is good. Because while walking in the park I had to take my phone out again and again to confirm which bike u r referring to. U can just listen to the audio. It will help that's all.
Hi, I own a RE Thunderbird TBTS, been riding it for 10 years now, felt a need to change my bike as needed better tech and a bit more power. Just took the test ride of the Honda CB350 today. It’s a good bike with all the modern features and speed. The only issue I felt with the bike is that it was very easy to ride, I mean it did not give me a big bike feel, it was like am riding a powerful Honda Unicorn. So am very confused now. Shifting from Thunderbird is becoming a bit of a challenge as I love the stance on my bike and the road presence is also nice, it has a big bike feel and I feel one with it. The handle bar of the CB350 was also a little heavy while taking u-turns, don’t know whether it was an issue with the test unit I rode today. Want to go for a Honda for the reliability but don’t know whether I would enjoy riding it in the long run. Never been so confused before!!
I fully agree with you and know what you mean. I always describe the CB as a "commuter on steroids" which is the best description and it doesnt give you a big bike feel in the long run - I know from experience, after more than a year. But I like it exactly because of that reason. However, in your case, I would strongly advise you to try the Meteor and the new Classic 350. I feel those are more to your taste. I especially loved the new classic.
@@Motoccino Thanks for your revert, I took the test ride of Meteor as well with my wife as the pillion, it’s an amazing bike but the seat length is not that great. My wife was not very comfortable as the rear seat is too short as compared to my current TBTS. She preferred the comfort of the Himalayan though. Am confused between the Himalayan and the Interceptor. Both of them have their fair share of quality issues. I just wished Honda would have launched the Honda Highness in a 500cc parallel twin engine!! Will take the test ride if the Classic as well and see if that works. Will keep you posted…
May be you missed one thing. Warranty and road side assistance, and if you needed any during your ownership. In foreign markets, RE gives a longer warranty than here.
@@Motoccino Thank you for your response to my comment. Kudos to you for taking the efforts to make this comparison. IMO only way to beat the problem of choosing between the two is to own both.
I have never ridden the 250ADV, however its supposed to be a bit more user friendly within city compared to 390 Adv, is what I hear, however, on the highway, its shortage of power compared to 390 Adv is apparently really noticeable. But, having owned the 390 Adv and sold it and now owning the Himalayan, I do prefer the styling and design of Himalayan more, as also its better city usability and more offroad ability.
7:20 As I would want my mother to go on a short ride with me and it seems Himalayan pillion seat will be a problem so cancelled my Himalayan booking and will go for Honda CB350 RS, which also has amazing road presence ,so not worry about this16:38 😎
Absolutely, Himalayan pillion is not for a easy usage, and especially if its mothers and such, its out of question. Wont be impossible, but will be quite a task.
I have never ridden the RS, but maybe I should very soon. If you're fit and love a bit of a committed position, you may like the RS better I feel. However, I know many younger friends in your age group who really love their Hness too.
Hi bro..I stay at new BOmbay confused weather to buy Himalayan..due to so many issues highlighted by utubers.e.g stalling issues, cone set issues, relay problem..my next aprtment guy holds Himalayan 2018 an he doesn't suggest me to buy at all 1.What's ur call on same 2..how much mileage u get in city an highway 3. Is it worth buying? 4. After sales service experience?
I can only talk about my experience. There are people who have had issues on it. There are people who have not had issues on it. Personally I haven't had any so far, but in all fairness mine is a new bike and I may be around the 3000 km mark. Its a remarkable bike for all that you can do with it. In spite of the so called issues, the capabilities of the bike are enormous. I would recommend you to buy this basis my experience. There is also the Yezdi adventure about to release shortly, so you might want to wait for that as well to see how it does. Mileage is around 30 kmpl.
Excellent video brother. Well explained. Even powerdrift guys don't provide so much detailed information. 👍👌 Please let me know the top box details that you have fitted on himalayan. Will install it on my cb 350
Yes sir, its the Studds Vault. It costs around 700-800. I already have fitted it on my CB350 on the side. Looks very good and adds a lot to practicality.
Bro please reply. Can I ride cb350 in second gear only throughout the city?I saw a random ytb video where a guy did just like this. And he barely shifted to 3rd gear in that video
yes in terms of a busy city, its a bad gearing! Even to cross a simple speedbreaker, most often I have to come down to first gear. Yes, a bad gearing for sure.
@@Motoccino Thanks so much for the reply. Will I have this gearing issue on Himalayan? Which gears will I be in most times in city traffic in Himalayan?Couldn't give a test ride because of covid situation.Hope you will help
@@BruceLee-go2vy No, Himalayan is like most RE gearing and torque, you can comfortably use in City, but its heat is a bit more than CB350 and of course in refinement CB wins like anything and also in terms of lightness, CB is far more lighter, and of course in pillion also CB wins. So yes gearing wise Himalayan is better in city, but in other factors CB is better. Hope you saw my whole video comparing all the points.
Very well explained sir …appreciated your effort on each and every points….Sir one request kindly remove the saree guard from Himalayan as it is spoiling the look of a adventure bike.
So far it has been amazing, however bear in mind the bike is mostly indoors and in covered basement parking and doesnt see much sun when I ride and its been lockdown as well, so maybe not a fair assessment, if it was regular office and I was riding it everyday for 1 hour+ in the noon/afternoon sun then I would have been able to comment on this much better, hope that makes sense!
Very nice video sir. Seeing your green, it is tempting me to take the same color. and the new updated diamond cut seats are looking elegant with green color. very classy looking bike ranges you have. both are looking good. nice choices you have. I think it would have been good if you had added horn factor with all your 30 plus comparison. when you are tapping your honda tank, looks like it has less fuel as it was making that pong noise which again means you are not riding more in honda. Please take a video on Honda as well sir. Also once you go out please take a walkaround of your bike in all angles by parking somewhere in the sun light just to see how your honda looks after adding all required accessories. It always feels very nice to see your raw videos. thanks for sharing such nice blogs. Have a great week ahead.
haha, thanks Sudhee, I always enjoy reading your feedback. 1. The tank sounds hollow because I generally fill fuel 5 liters at a time (these days being WFH, not much usage, so I dont want the bike unnecessarily sitting with full tank) 2. The green color is indeed very classy - you will love it. 3. I did miss out on the horn factor, will add it to my list for future such videos, thanks 4. Yes, a full Honda CB long term review will land soon.
@@harshalnavghare I have heard accounts that it keeps sliding backwards. I like the new Zana one actually - I have been asking them whether this is compatible with the split seat, and also how much it weighs, but havent got an answer! zanainternational.com/product/toprack-without-plate-cb350-hness
scram is very good no doubt, the only thing with cb350 is the gearing and power behaviour - where it has too many gear changes in city... so bear that in mind!
Hmmm I am 6 ft tall, for some reason I hated the riding posture and flickabilty in cb350, rs for some reason felt better Then I test drove himalayan , that just won my heart but practicality is where I am still inking towards cb350rs Himalayan handle bar on cb350rs , would that help?
This are from two different classes of bike….. Comparing them is too difficult…… CB350 is roadster with touring and off-roading potential….. While Himalayan is touring one….. I have heard from friends having Himalayan that it is not comfortable for city ride….. while for touring its great….. Both are for specific targeted customers…. Very well compared here. No doubt in that…. Most of the points are very well explained……
yes fully agree, these are not comparable bikes in the true sense, and I do make that clear in the beginning, its just that for someone who is trying to compare, since I have both of these, I have trying to present my perspective, thats all. 😀
@@Motoccino Yes, Thank You…. Initially i was in confusion about which to buy. Latter, i realised that this are two different class. And goal was supposed to be in my mind from the start itself….. And then it was clear that CB350 serves my purpose. Therefore the comment…….
