Some patient after having a hip replacement get confused about which is the best direction to turn while you're moving around with the walker. To be honest it's a matter of comfort. Some physical therapists recommend you turning "away" from the operated side but sometimes that isn't an option.
In actuality, if you avoid pivoting with the operated side planted, you should be able to turn in either direction as you're walking through your home
