Hip Turn HACK For Incredible Ball Striking!

This is the EASIEST way to keep your WEIGHT FORWARD in the backswing for ultimate ball striking and unparalleled distance!
The movement of the pelvis throughout the golf swing is a key component to consistent ball striking and power production. Unfortunately, most amateur golfers get the movement of the pelvis wrong, leading to erratic ball striking and a huge loss in power.
If you want to create a powerful backswing, and one that keeps the low-point of the swing in front of the ball, the movement of the trail hip in the backswing should only be TOWARDS the target, never away from it. If you can grasp this move, then you’ll find that compressing the ball and increasing your distance are easier than you had ever thought possible.
There should be zero weight shift AWAY from the target. The right hip moving TOWARDS the midline in the backswing creates the desired combination of a centred pivot, coupled with an increased turn. From here, the pelvis is perfectly positioned to start the downswing continuing to move towards the target and delivery the club consistently to the back of the ball.

Rob, I second Jazzman- I've been focusing on hit hard stop drill (actually incorporating it in my pre-shot routing), arms together drill and your 30-50-80 yard wedge protocol- am 72, and the other day just missed shooting my age by 1 shot. You have really helped me. Stephen

What a great hack Rob, especially the driver element to re-emphasize to me that it works with ALL clubs. And the wrench drill video is also a nothe great aid. You're the best. Stay well-Russ

Excellent video Rob. Would it help to move the hips by dropping your trail foot back a little?
@robcheneygolf1

Absolutely! In fact, if you look closely, I actually do this in the video (almost unconsciously). Great question! 👍🏻

Rob, with weight primary on front foot as the hip goes back to center line are you supposed to feel pressure on trail leg instep as it straightens out, or does all the pressure remain on front foot throughout backswing and downswing
@mfnflyw16
@mfnflyw16 5 дней назад
Is that right hip movement behind and towards target a conscious movement you must initiate or does it happen by starting with turning L shoulder down toward ball
@Graham-bg3ij

The flare ( rotation) of both feet at the address position is a key component to the way the ankles - knees - hips and torso move- amateurs typically start golf swings with their feet far too straight at address - play from the feet - up

Hi Richard. Have you seen this video about how to move the pelvis in the downswing? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-whP4FTsts98.html

Hi, Rob What do you think the problem could be when I hit what I have heard Martin Chuck refer to as a "pro thin" shot--one where the divot is actually too far in front of the ball as opposed to low point too far behind the ball and ascending. Some of my divots start six inches in front of the ball.
@robcheneygolf1
@robcheneygolf1 2 месяца назад
That can be an issue, but not usually something I see very often. It would be interesting to see your swing on video to be able to diagnose more accurately.
@gerx18

Do you think you would need to recheck the loft and lie on your clubs with this new setup, Rob?
@robcheneygolf1

I would't say so... but you could do that it you were concerned that things had changed that much.

It appears the takeaway moves more to the inside when the hip turn is initiated in the immediate start of the backswing, no?!
@robcheneygolf1
@robcheneygolf1 3 месяца назад
Yes, it’s easier to move the hands/club more inside if the hips turn more degrees.

Is a visual illusion, if you do that you will reverse pivot, this are tips, pros don’t do that, I,m taking lessons from a touring pro, he says no one does any of this, everything is a reaction to something else

Grant shifts right minimal from 1-1.5 before moving forwards/recentering and beyond into left side. I cannot stand the fact S and T doesn't verbalize and/or recognize this important mini move with the driver. If you'd measure the spots of his cochones you'd see a tiny shift an AMM, GEARS. 100 percent.
@robcheneygolf1
@robcheneygolf1 3 месяца назад
“Important mini move”? If you think you need to make a “mini move” from 1-1.5 before “re-centering” to be a good driver of the ball then we’ll agree to disagree.
