I like it, but but , confused, as at 3.05 as an example, you just absolutely don’t hit that look or position when you swing proper. In all your swings. So confused..
I’m assuming and hoping this will help with early extension which plagues me. I can’t help but stand up as I tilt down and away in the backswing and then the opposite happens (stand up) in the downswing. I’m hoping this drill and the ‘head on the wall’ drill will help me. Out of golf for the moment as early extension has killed my lower back. 😢
Sorry to hear that, Jane. Another video that will help you with your EE is this one - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NL0qmhPWmao.htmlsi=7BpuTKSNEOrRjHsP
Thanks for another great presentation. The drills are helpful and easy to do. I have decided to only watch your programs. And cancel all of my utube programs Saguto and top speed. Thanks so much
Hey Rob. What would u say is the optimal tee hight for this swing? for driver and 5 wood. ofc depends on what shot, but a standard down the fairway shot🙂 thanks!
Your drills are gems for many reasons. For example, your use of training devices to provide immediate feedback, your concise, brief and easy to follow instructions. Keep up the good work, Coach Rob.
YEP, just went out in the rain (had to) in my backyard to shoot balls into the net, focusing on staying 100% on my leftfoot and DONT move ANYWERE and just rotate the hips n shoulders..And im bald enough to claim that this method is actually idiotproof, as far as something in golf even can be called that lol EVERYTIME i thought i figured it out, i use 2 say "ok now i solved golf"...Than next day some other club dont work..And suddenly no club work etc etc..BUT NOW i really think its solved The only thing is that it feels very "static" and i have yet 2 fire a driver irl..But if it goes straight and longer than my snaphook used 2 go, i will never take my weight of my leftie!! I might even start 2 sleep standing on left leg if it leads to consistent sleep LOL Tom Sagutos (shout out) vids is what lead me in to this system and helped me with my irons, But Rob is the one who made me realize the lowpoint of the swing, and that im not heavy and still enough on my left foot, and this solved my driver. I kept flying forward hitting down.. Thanks Rob!!
I’ve been using this method for years now and I can’t tell you how many times my lag putting gets close to the hole. I very rarely three putt I could never go back to putting conventional style and you will never get the yips putting this way good luck
Thanks so much Rob - I watched this video yesterday morning, went to the range for a little warm up before my round and I hit my driver the best I ever have. This video along with your bowler video have changed my game so dramatically . Shot a personal best yesterday by 5 strokes
If you're "stuck" you likely need to move your lower body better. I cover that in this video here - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-whP4FTsts98.html
Spot on. Brain can do distance very well just by looking. I hate to see people stroking for a 25' putt and then stepping into hit a 10 footer. I strive to spend 90% of time looking at the target (putting & full). With putting I practice stroke looking at the target outside the hole (long, short, left, right) to get the feel, but look at the ball when hitting. I trust the alignment line is pointing on the start line. Reason: If I look say 2" right of the hole while hitting, then the brain is so good that the ball rolls over that spot. Arguably the real target for a right to left putt is beyond the hole and to left of it...whereas the start line is to the right. I would never look at the ground tossing a ball 60'...were my stroke sound enough to make center contact I would definitely lag looking at the hole. Argument to be made for side saddle. Currently trying 4 body locks from Axys golf to clean up the stroke and perhaps be able to make long strokes looking at the hole.
Hi mate I'm glad i found you on utube just starting with your videos and trying your techniques thumbs up mate so far 👍 been having problems with driver on leaning back on contact i know i do it just hard to fix will see how you're remedy works cheers .Julian from Perth Australia
Rob. You explain this better than anyone perhaps. But it really does me no good to talk about low point or divots in front of the ball when hitting off a Matt. I can feel the club strike the ground but if I’m a 1/2 in too early (fat) I can’t tell if I’m ahead of or behind the ball. I use foot spray to make a line but again if I’m a little early is that still a functional shot or a chunk. I also can’t tell what a good divot is. It’s the size of a dollar bill, ok, but again if I’m a tad early I can still take a nice divot but can’t tell where it begins or if the divot is too deep or shallow. I’m very frustrated. Not by you but by anyone’s ability to demonstrate divots or impact off a Matt. Any other suggestions? Thank you so much for all you do. I love your style and content. Thanks
I play to a 5. Used the Wrench after seeing this video. My issue has been a little erratic off the tee and a few fat shots. With the Wrench, shot 75 with hitting most fairways and no fat shots. Distance very solid. My small misses were with my irons going a tad right. May be my ball position being too far back so I'll work on that at the range. Thanks Rob!
Are there any tips you can give to tell if the ball is under your lead shoulder? Standing over the ball it’s hard tell if it’s directly under my lead shoulder or to far forward/back.
I have a question. You talk about this is the crush the can and the hip video. Is this the main first move I make in the downswing? And if so are my arms just dropping on their own? Or am I to push my rear arm to a straight position at the same time as this? Thank you!
If it helps I’m 64 been playing since I was 26. 11.6 now been as low as 5. Short game has always been fairly solid 45% up and down. 75% fairways. Only hit driver 225-235 now. Was never long, peak 280
Well done, I have a new app that films me and rates the swing 1-10. My three reoccurring issues are: Forward Lunge follow through Early extension Hip slide Any suggestions
Thanks for making this video, Rob! I’ve gotten lazy with this in my transition and it’s the perfect wake up call. In your original video on this move you mention it works for every club that you hit from the ground. Does the ball position under the lead shoulder and hips being farther forward in the driver set up change this move at all?
HI Rob, Hope all is well., and you are still wordling. I have 2 questions: which position should the club face be in at the end of the first drill, and, can the drill also be used for driver. Cheers, Russ
Honestly the most underrated golf instructor on RU-vid . Rob you deserve a million + subscribers! I’ve taken an online lesson with Rob on skillest and in one lesson he’s taught me more than over a yr with my local pga coach! I’m hitting the driver longer and straighter than I ever have . Listen to everything this man says and forget the rest !! Cheers Keith
This is EXACTLY my problem. I was completely confused about set up. I flush my irons by not doing much and feeling on top of the ball. With the driver I feel that I’m making a bunch of adjustments with my feet, shoulders, ball placement etc and I’m all over the course. I will try this out asap!
Wrist? In your video THIS WILL TRANSFORM YOUR CHIPPING! (link below), you do a great job with the help of Hackmotion. Would also like to see the GRID setup for each shot. In this video I thought It was unclear in the 3 distances of 30y, 50, 80y the movements of the wrist for each. Is there only Radial Deviation(hinging} or Ulnar Deviation(cocking). Is there any Flexion or Extension? Do you hold extension during 30y, 50y or 80y to your finish or do you allow flexion after P7 (impact) to finish? 1:46 8:29 10:17 11:46 (float loading?) 13:04 13:44 19:54 Thank you Rob for all the hard work that you put into these videos. Your contribution to the golfing world is priceless. 🙏 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fJjsTlSD2Wg.html
Rob, I, my instructor and Scottie Sheffler don't agree with you. Certainly there must be "unweighting" from the top of the backswing or slightly earlier and the best pros move about 4-6" towards the target at impact but essentially after unweighting, they're turning onto their lead post. The amount of sway that you are encourgaging would restrict the turn and could lead to back injuries.
