What an interesting and thought provoking video. Thank you, Kandye for the wonderful history and letting your light shine bright in this sometimes dark world. Be blessed until we meet again! xoxo
Wonderful video as always Kandye, I’ve learned more from you about the history of so many things in our past than I did in school! Your dress is lovely too, I love the print and you look beautiful in it! God bless!
Hello Candye I am so happy to see you. My daughter is due any day now with her first baby. We are due to have a big snow store at the time she is due. I am very nervous. I am going to make this for her. She is a 1st Grade teacher and loves history. I agree with you about what if you died tonight. I know two people who have died this year in their sleep. Jesus is the Truth and the Life! Amen! Thank you for your video. I love that dress on you look very pretty. Happy New Year!!
Thanks for the lesson in our interesting history. And more importantly I like your question on eternal life ❤ All who call on the name of the Lord will be saved.
Love hearing about American history. You also had a timely message regarding where we will spend eternity. My Aunt went home to be with the Lord yesterday afternoon. You never know when you will be leaving this life. Knowing Christ as your Lord and Savior is the single most important thing in everyone's life. it's for eternity. You are an inspiration and I love that you share your faith and perhaps someone who doesn't know Christ or never even thought about where they will spend eternity will think about it because of this video. Bless you, and thank you for the videos.❤
What a wonderful gift! Thank you for the history lesson. When I lay my head down tonight, I know that if I was to die, I would be in heaven with Jesus. Thank you for all you do. God‘s blessings Kandye!
So glad to see you. I enjoyed the video and all the history! Your videos are always so interesting and informative! You look wonderful! God bless you!!!🙏🏻❤️🥰
Thank you Kandye! I enjoyed this video very much! Your dress is beautiful, it suits you right down to the ground! God bless you! Looking forward to your next video!
Learning about the things of our history as a nation is just so fascinating Kandye. You are a wealth of knowledge. Thanks for the share and thank you for your continued dedication to the message of the cross. Keep making a difference and letting your light shine.
So true, but sadly many didn't name their children for almost a year because the mortality rate was so high. It's sad to see tombstones in New England that just say infant daughter or infant son.
Thank you, Kandy, our history teacher. I used safety pins on my daughters diapers, and boy did she howl when we stuck her. Straight pins would have been a nightmare.
Hey Kandye! 😊👋❤ I’m spending eternity with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ 😇 I’ll see you there 😉 what a thoughtful video this evening! It really makes you think about the events of today and what a blessing it was back then just to have your child live past the age of five. It really makes you stop and think. I have been reading my Bible from cover to cover every evening and spending at least a couple of hours every night with the Lords word and praying. I know exactly where you are coming from. Keep the faith, Kandye! Our reward is coming 😇it was wonderful to see you tonight. Take care and God bless.❤😇🇺🇸😇🇺🇸😇🇺🇸❤
I love this kind of information. I do think calling someone a stranger or pilgrim was also in reference to "strangers and pilgrims on earth" Heb 11:13 so in essence a gift from our Lord 😍 I know cloth diapers aren't as common these days, but I still think that would be such a sweet gift.
I agree! I thought that too about the stranger reference, but couldn't find anything that it related to in the colonies Biblically. The pilgrims did call non-puritans strangers. Most commonly because children didn't live very long, I guess people were afraid to name them. I even read where some mother's tried not to get too attached to their little one for the fear of losing them. Very sad!
Oh, I had no idea that's where "pin money" came from! Really interesting video as usual. I think I've somehow missed a couple though, I'll have to check.
Hi Kandye. I enjoyed this video. My Grandma had a pretty glass purse/box that said pin money on it. I never thought much about it and now I know what pin money is! Thank you for everything.
Great video and history info. It’s sad to hear of the mortality back then. What is the difference between pin money and egg money besides years ? Your message for accepting God gift is so timely. Thank you for sharing.
Egg money was when wives sold their eggs for a little of their own spending money. Years ago, the great majority of women stayed home and didn't get a salary. It was the husband's responsibility for the household income. He might give his wife an allowance, but many women did mending or sold their eggs for some spending money. My great great grandmothersold her eggs, butter and cheese to the local grocer, but hers was in exchange for things she couldn't make on the farm like sugar and coffee. This was during the depression.
@@cabincrafts2239 Thank you for explaining the difference. I remember going to the mom n pop store as a child . What an amazing heritage to have and times certainly have changed. Stay safe in the coming winter storm. Linda
Hi Kandye! What would they have used to stuff the pin cushion with? Rice? Cotton? Wool? Something to help keep the pins from rusting? The pin cushions you showed are simply beautiful!
So lovely to see you and your fascinating video, you make history so interesting to think about. What a lovely video, thankyou so much.Shame Justine doesn't pop in to see you ,you are such a good teacher ,in handing on so many beautiful historical crafts. I used to believe, but sadly I feel theres so much sadness happening now to good people ,its too hard to understand why that would be happening. Love and great respect from U.K.
