HISTORIC!! Home Free - Elvira (feat. The Oak Ridge Boys) (REACTION) 

The Oak Ridge Boys are Country Music royalty. It was a big deal and an honor for Home Free to collaborate with them. One of their members recently retired.

The Oak Ridge Boys have been a 4 part harmony gospel and country music group for decades. Their music had instrumentation but this was one of their biggest hits and crossed over into pop too, in the early 80s everyone heard this song and it was played all over the a variety of radio. They are mentors and heroes to the HF guys and that shirt they autographed for Austin, he got as a teen at one of their concerts.

There were never more that 5 members at a time. The current 5 have been together since 2016 when the founder (Chris Rupp) left to go solo. That's when Adam Chance joined. The beatboxer is Adam Rupp, and he has always been so since 2000 when the group formed. The other four have been together since 2012-13: Adam Rupp, Rob Lundquist, Tim Foust and Austin Brown. Over the two decades, they have aged, changed haircuts, and matured -- so they look different in different years. The Oak Ridge Boys are icons of country music and made the original "Elvira". They were not an a cappella band, but joined Home Free for this vocal arrangement. This video is becoming a classic in its own right!

It really does give the sense of "Home Free Past" meeting "Oak Ridge Boys future". The ORB's bass, Richard Sterban, sang bass for Elvis Presley early in his career. Adam Rupp (beatboxer) was in the back left corner wearing the bandanna. He grows out his hair to donate to cancer society. You will see him i. Videos with short hair and long hair. Adam Chance (Chance) replaced Chris Rupp at the end of May 2016. You all should do ,if you seen the movie The Big Lebowski, react to This is How We Roll. There are 5 guys in Home Free. In 2016 Chris Rupp, in the baseball cap at the end, one of the founders, left to pursue a solo career and was replaced by the baritone Adam Chance.

Yes, Adam is there. His hair looks different. They changed one member in 2016 when one of the founders (guy with a hat on in this one) and they got a new member, Adam Chance - known as Chance so as not to infuse with the beatboxer Adam Rupp. Adam Chance starts off the Sea Chanty Medley.😊

Adam Rupp (the beatboxer) grows his hair out till its long enough to donate so sometimes he looks like a different person.

Love Home Free #2 on my list. #1 is VoicePlay and their bass Geoff Castellucci who gets a shout-out at the end from Tim Foust and Home Free for his arrangement of Elvira.

I love this video - the singing, harmonies, beatboxing and the evident affection & respond between the two groups. They have another collaboration with The Oak Ridge Boys of "Beautiful Star of Bethlehem" that's just terrific. They also have collaborations with Alabama, Kenny Rogers, Don McLean, Lee Greenwood & Charlie Daniels. I'd think you'd also like "9-5 beatboxing breakdown" - it'll surprise you.

This is awesome. The Oaks are country royalty and Home Free is amazing. For really cool acapella, look no further than VoicePlay. They've done Dream On (Aerosmith), Nothing Else Matters (Yes, Metallica!), Seven Nation Army, and so many other great songs, including several from video games. And their videos are fabulous, like little movies. Both Tim Foust (Home Free) and Geoff Castellucci (VoicePlay) are incredible basses, with sick ranges and amazing high notes. Both aca groups are among the top tier, world class groups.

ADAM IS THE TOP LEFT

The Oaks have been top stars in the country world for decades. But they did use a band. Home Free is acapella, and uses no instruments. The lead singer of the Oaks has a great, high voice, and is well known for it, as well as their bass singer being known for his low notes. The lead singer was very impressed with Austin's voice (the high note singer in HF), and the whole group impressed them, including one of the lowest bass singers in the world, Tim Foust, from HF. Thus you get this; the two high singers playing off each other, as well as the two basses doing the same. Keep in mind that the beat boxer (Adam Rupp) is a two-time world champion.

Great song! The Oak Ridge Boys were not the first to perform this song. But they made it famous by adding the "Oom papa mow mow". And it catapulted them out of the gospel genre that was most of their repertoire. Gentlemen, do not attempt to sing with your mics on during your reactions! It's so distracting. And also, don't talk through the video - you're missing good stuff, for what? Just to say things that you can say later. We want to see you savor the song, not interrupt it with talk.
