This is a great collaboration between Home Free & The Oak Ridge Boys. "Elvira" was a huge hit for The Oak Ridge Boys in 1981. You can see the great respect these 2 groups have for each other. The Oak Ridge Boys are mentors to Home Free & it is like they are passing the baton to a younger version of themselves. They have performed together on the Grand Ole Opry. Adam Rupp's vocal percussion is the best in the business. He can simulate drums & any other sounds perfectly. Home Free is my favorite a cappella group. They are so talented yet very humble guys.
The Oak Ridge Boys are legends. They are in the Country Music Hall Of Fame. A couple of years ago, HF, Jeffrey East, & ORB did a collab on Beautiful Star of Bethlehem (on HF'S channel).
The Oak Ridge Boys started out as The Oak Ridge Quartet and they sang Southern Gospel. I saw them many times in concert way back when…shows how old I am! Thanks for doing this reaction.

I just wanted to point out something about the Oak Ridge Boys: they still sound soooo good 40 YEARS after this song was originally released. . Ahh crap, I'm feeling old again (I was 14 when the song came out). Time sure does fly.

I was about 9 years old when The Oak Ridge Boys came out with this sone! I was lucky enough to see them live at my local state or county fair ( I forget which now)!

William Golden is the guy with the beard. I've seen the Oak Ridge Boys live several times and I don't remember him ever singing anything other than backup. He was 76 when this was recorded.
The Oak Ridge Boys were HUGE back in their day. I was a teenager at the time. I wasn't necessarily a country music fan but they were FIRE in the 80's! Check 'em. Also, look up Home Free's Alabama tribute! Alabama also a Fire group back in the 80's! A new colab of up and coming stars was done with Texas Hill. Check that out, as well as Texas Hill. Elvira was a mythical woman this song was supposedly written about. However, it is actually a street name in Nashville. There was also a vampy tv host of horror movies called Elvira, Queen of the Dark. She was not the subject of this song.
Home Free actually appreciates reactors and has been known to shout out to specific reactors. With the exception of How Great Thou Art, I’ve never seen anyone dinged for copyright infringement on any of their videos.
