There is no hope for the people of West Virginia to know their own history with men like this carrying the title “Professor of West Virginia History.” Anyone who calls Dyke Garrett a Primitive Baptist knows nothing about the religious history of our area. Anyone who says Preacher Anse was JP in 1878 knows nothing about Tug Valley history. Anyone who says there was a 12-man jury in a JP court knows nothing about Kentucky law. In fact, there is nothing in the presentation that indicates this professor knows anything at all about the actual history he is paid to teach.
