I decided to move from Wilson D7's and got fitted for P790's as reward for dropping 11 shots off my handicap last year! 27 down to 16... absolutely delighted but have only hit them in into a net. Waiting for Golf to get back in Ireland ⛳🏌

P770 is clearly the winner, best #’s, highest Smash Factor. Will be my go too next year at my custom fit to compare to my X-14 Pro Series.

Surely a p790 8 iron would go as far as the rest of the 7 irons on test increasing spin and decent angle in the process... Great video, love my p790s...

One thing about this line is that they are great looking irons. Hit the 770s and they felt pretty good. Expensive though.

Great comparison and just proves I am with the correct setup for me. I'll hit my p790 9i where you hit the MB 7i. I also very much doubt I would be able to have 3/4 solid strikes with an MB :)

Great video. Exactly my scenario, moving out of the M2 game improvement irons into a mid-low handicap. Went through Taylormade fitting session hitting Stealth and some P series. Stealth are basically just game improvement again, so looking at a combo set of P790 for long irons and P770 to close the gap!

P7MC 3-5 P7MB 6-P Absolutely phenomenal irons, incredible feel!

Excellent review of the "P" line, and very helpful in pointing one in the right direction for your particular game.

Great video. I’ve got a mixed bag...P790 in 6-8, P770 in 9-GW. I’m a 15 HCP. I like the distance and forgiveness of the speed foam/pocket for the mid-irons and forged feel/slightly better workability for the short iron and wedges. I don’t carry irons below 6.

I go original P790 6/7 iron and original P770 8-PW.

i'm using the p770s now, used to play p790s for 3yrs... all these irons are stunning, maybe one day i'll be able to hit the MBs!! great review!

Hey man I’m looking at getting a set of irons stumped on the blades or the p-770 I started with blades the old Nike ones from early 2000s so would like to stick with it

Very informative. Love looking at the numbers. I’m going for a fitting in a couple weeks. Changing out of my Ping G2’s. Will be trying the P790 and P770’s. I regularly play anywhere from 80-85 with the odd round in the high 70’s (in my mind if I’m over 85, that’s a bad round 🤷‍♂️). So I think the 770’s might be out of my league. Either way, it should be a massive improvement over my old Ping’s.

The only one of these I have not tested is the P7MB, although with my ability maybe this is a good thing. I play i210s so allegedly I am a decent ball striker. Prior to that I played the TM M1s so not against TM clubs, although in my very limited experience their manufacturing quality control is a long way behind Ping. The TM range are all very good looking irons. For me the P770 are the pick of the bunch, they were every bit as good as my i210s although I felt the i210s felt a little softer. P790s are now just a bit too big for my eye and I prefer the less strong lofts of the P770s. The P7MC were the surprise to me. I just did not get the feel Michael did, it just felt hard and I struggled to find any consistent rhythm with it - however I think that was more me than the club. May try again later this month. Looking at Michael's numbers, the P770 looked to be the best, more consistency in spin, better descent angle and peak height than the P7MC

So if you would have to cary 165 yards you could hit a 9 iron with the p790? Wouldnt it spin more and land steeper than the 7 iron mb? Think that is a more realistic test

In my experience, the P7MB are NOTABLY easier to hit than the P7MC. I've heard a few other folks say that as well.
