i can keep replaying this video and i am amazed as much everytime. to make these kills with his movement consistently??? wtf.

@@ClausSamp I guess back when games had higher skill ceilings, people pushed themselves harder and further. You can see the thousands of hours of practice in the way they have every inch of the map mastered, the frame-perfect charge time on gauss gun to go exactly where you want to, every time. Making pixel-perfect gauss shots through walls at a respawning enemy to maintain your map advantage. Circling back to a pick-up at the exact moment it re-pops. With the "casualisation" of FPS, the incentive - and capability - to reach this pinnacle is just gone. It really makes you think, when a div 2 AG player who is already better than 99% of players can get 50-0'd by the 0.1% of players. We won't see this level of play ever again until devs start making games that actually allow for it.

@@graysaltine6035 dont forget combining the gauss shots to allow himself to do a crazy crossbow kill. yeah games now a days are too baby. i dont think devs ever want anyone to become this good in any game

@@graysaltine6035 The reason people dont make games like that anymore, is because its usually at the cost of the new players, who are in the end essentially the lifeblood to any game. You need new players to play the game, othereise it just dies out. And while yes, you can have a high skill ceiling and still be appealing to new players, but that comes at a lot of sacrifices and some very tricky balancing.

fortunately im beeing remembered of this every some days when I play it. I dont see a reason to play new games, just because they are hyped and have good looks :/ Since this game still kicks a lot more ass than any other game out there :P

@@unr34L- Nah.. He used to play on a joystick IIRC. He played with a mouse as well though. You can see the movement of the gauss when he does a 180 to fire behind him isint that of a mouses movement.

Insane aiming

When you play enough, you learn things. Like depending on where you are on the map, and you don't see or hear them, then you know where they didn't spawn. If you know where they didn't spawn then you know where they did spawn, and you know how far they moved since you killed them. You know which items they are going for so you know which direction they moved from spawn. Basically you know where they are before they are there, without any kind of wallhack or radar or map. You aim, you shoot - and if you're Garpy, you kill. Out of Alex, Worldspawn and all the AGHL greats, Garpy will forever be my number one. He's just a straight legend.

Sure. Modern 144 Hz monitors have *comparable* latency. The problem is then that your GPU has multiple-frame buffering, and John Carmack has an entire video dedicated to reducing input->photon latency.

Quake is conisdered the fastest FPS because AG mod was a niche that only very few people knew about. Imo AG will always be the best and by far most complete fast paced FPS ever made.

Half Life multiplayer mode

This was a modded version of the base half-life death match called Adrenaline gamer. It took out the speed cap. It's what all the good players played. Valve added a speed cap to hldm and tfc to try and prevent bunny hopping/strafe jumping(the left/right movement used to maintain that speed when shooting off a wall). Bunnyhopping was hard to learn and the skill difference was so massive between players it was literally killing the game lol.

Entirely true! (But the gamepad was purely for movement and weapon switching, mouse for aiming - you couldn't even begin to aim at that speed with a joypad!)
