I understand her struggles, I've been homeless before too, I'm proud to say I am 8 years sober, got a job and a place. my brother is still out there struggling with addiction, I don't even know where he is...if I can do it they can too. I pray that God will help them be a better person. Thanks for the interview, I will like to hear more.

I understand you have good intentions and have the desire to help the homeless, but I think the issues are deeper than what we see. Donating isn't the solution, but a mear stepping stone. They have to WANT the help and sustain it. They need the tools to get through whatever challenges they are facing. If our parents are survived by living in the jungles of Laos and Thailand, they can do the same.

@VOAN
@VOAN 24 дня назад
It's too bad that won't apply to America either. Over here you need a license just to fish as well. Without one you can't fish or you'll get arrested especially if you got caught catching too much. My comments simply refer to "how the interview was conducted." As all viewers can see, it never addressed the underlying issues of how she got to where she is. I'm sure we are all interested in why she ended up in this situation. While I might not be able to help her directly, understanding her story might help others avoid similar circumstances. Perhaps someone here can offer her assistance. Aside from the interview, I wanted to say that I understand life can be hard and unfair. No one wants to be in this situation, but sometimes being in it is better than dying, as it may bring some relief. We are often quick to judge without realizing what they are going through, and there are many factors at play.

Just like most, if not all of the viewers. I would like to hear their back story. 1. How did they become homeless? 2. Did they try to get help, or did they choose to be that way ( some people are too lazy to help themselves)? 3. What about their family? Did none of their families help, or were they the black sheep of the family?

They had no resources and no food, but they receive funds from the government! I was told they would help with housing, when I got there I asked one of the Hmong staff and she chuckled and said we don’t help with housing and you have to find housing yourself because this is only 2-3 days support housing. 😮 I immediately left and went to go live with my cousin! I was almost homeless with my two kids! It’s tough!! Almost went back to someone who tried to kill me in front of my children. Hammer to the head and got multiple stitches! I’m blind in my left eye! Glad I left, but Hmong support system is the last that want to help Hmong.

I remember my days of being homeless in MN. I was a little lucky cause I had the shelter to fall back to, then I got a car cause I was able to work again but still homeless while working. Lived in my car for 3 years. I was homeless since 2013 to Now. Had to junk my car. So, found me a room to rent. I feel like an inmate everyday. My crime, disabled on benefits. I preferred living in my car than being coupe in a room sharing house with roommates. Got ones that smokes in the house that is torture. No clean air to breathe. After I got my surgery. I couldn't get back on the working horse. So, I'm trapped in this never ending NIGHTMARE. It's true the say " You Own Nothing and You Shall be happy." Life is not happy at all on this side of life. For the disabled, elderly and low-income. Unless, you had a good paying job and have put a lot of time into working. Less you work. Less benefit you'll get for when you become disabled or retired.

@ashton8878 NO, single. Couldn't find the right one. Was about marry when I was younger. I had 2 girls I wanted to marry. Family said I was too young. Now they still giving me grief about not getting married. Because want I been through. I'm damaged in that part of life. I can no longer trust or believe what she will say. If I did have one. I only have a few remaining lady friends.

@@vajtsab8826that's a sad story. Maybe get a part time job, start saving $$ little by little and then go to Laos and maybe you will be more happy. You might not want to come back to the U.S because there's not an American dream for everyone. 😅

Tell her next time to go to hmong funeral homes near there, she can get free food on the weekends since there is always a funeral going on. Also she can stock up on food since leftovers get thrown out anyways.

Just wondering how they live in the camp. How do they bathe or cook food daily? So people will know what type of food to donate to help.

They lived near downtown, there are many hotels, public bathrooms, churches, shelters, a stadium, a flea market, a laundry place, a few grocery stores, about 2-3 Subway and McDonalds restaurants, multiple hospitals including Regions Hospital, and a lot of Pizzarias, 3 job temp agencies, and the River Centre nearby. I'm sure they got all they need just walking distance from them. Remember this is not the jungle, this is a slum within the city. If they need help, help are right around the corner.

You need to learn how to ask questions. Ask them what did they do to get to where they are at? Do they plan to turn their life around? Your question about how they got to the US is lame.

You are wasting time asking alot of questions thats really necessary. You need to ask questions as to why they became homeless then move on to the next person. You should have a basic list of questions to ask when interviewing these people such as : What's your name and Last name? Do you have a spouse and children? Why or how did you end up homeless? Do you want to get out of the homeless camp and back to a normal life? What kind of help do you need and are you willing to do what it takes to get out of the situation you're in?

Instead of interviewing drug addicts interview people who are really down on their luck. I dont feel sorry for the drug addicts they did it to themselves! Their families try to pick them up, but they choose this life. There's people out there who are more deserving of help, sorry, but not sorry
