This was the best video of hoarders yet!! The home owner was not acting out, she was gracious and accommodating. Wanting the best for her husband to come home to a clean house from the hospital!! A huge thank~you to all the volunteers, for making this house a home again, for this loving couple!!🥰

You can't blame the other hoarders though. They are experiencing a lot of anxiety, loss of control, void when they are forced to give up stuff. That's why they're not able to clear out themselves, the stuff serves a purpose. It's a mental illness, not a choice

i think it really helps when they're able to donate the stuff that's not a health hazard or completely busted, then it feels less like a waste. i noticed they didn't actually include what the root of her food hoarding was but it was heartening that she was able to shift her perspective and conscientiously limit her food storage.

@Tamara I agree that she has been selfish and lazy since the day they bought that house. I can't believe her husband stayed with her so long. I am usually pretty mean about hoarders and get comments telling me so. But this time I think that no matter was a loser she has been, she really did pony up and try to make a change. I think she will probably try to keep it clean. If not, I hope her daughter gets her dad out of there. He will die, if it gets filthy again.
@dietotaku
@dietotaku 2 года назад
@Tamara you're just making baseless accusations to justify the hatred you want to feel for hoarders. what do you want them to do, give her a spanking? she didn't throw a tantrum about letting go of her hoard, she was grateful for the help she got, her family loves her and they're all happy with her improvement, that's the best ending you could hope for. i wish every episode could be like this one, instead of the ones who turn away the crew and disown their family so they can bury themselves in their hoard.

Did you see the clip of a guy from San Francisco? He and his brother were about to lose the house which is why the show came in, but just as they started filming the brother passed away. The surviving brother pushed through and got a lot cleaned. Structurally the house was in rough shape which caused them to only be able to do one floor. But in that episode the camera men were hauling out bags *while filming* to help get as much progress done in order to show the city that the home owner was serious. *That* one was crazy to see.

Right there with you Risky9. Nine kids in my family and only about 2 outfits each. But watching Hoarders helps to keep us in check. Just today I bagged and boxed up more stuff to give away. Clothes, shoes, Tupperware. Two weeks ago it was canned goods for the Food Bank. None outdated. Although our facility will take up to a year past the date. Those things are put on a separate table. I guess there are people who make just a little too much money to qualify, but they are allowed to take anything from the expired table, which I think is crazy.

I've always been a "penny pincher" but ever since this whole pandemic happened I realized that I have a shopping addiction. This is a new habit. We've been blessed to move to a new state and living here allowed my husband to have the best job he's ever had plus I've never seen prices so low in my life. I've been born and raised in Hawaii and it's extremely expensive living there so we moved to Las Vegas. We saved a heap of money and we moved to and now reside in beautiful Utah. Back home a gallon of milk is roughly $7., here in Utah it's only $2.50. When all this craziness started I learned how to shop online 🙄😂 I've never done so before but now I'm extremely addicted to Amazon lol. I have packages and boxes in the mail almost everyday. Trauma does something to someone. As blessed as we are, I know I have a problem.

Honestly, when the packages first started coming in it felt great, lately it feels embarrassing. So much going on and I'm spending money on ridiculous things. I had to stop. I started saving and I donated to the food bank for the Holidays and I'm taking 3 of my daughter's to the mall so they can pick an "Angel" (a child name) from the Angel Tree. Each daughter can shop for their "Angel" so that child can have some Christmas presents. I remember when my kids names used to be on that tree and giving back feels so good. Thank you for your comment. I hope you have a safe and happy Holiday season.

Allow me to give you an example: When I was in the Marines, in 1974, we were eating "C-Rations" that were canned in 1943. they were still good. No one ever got sick from them. They were 30 years old.

Wauw, I just love when it turns out this good for these good folks. The woman in this episode has tongas experienced some hunger in her childhood or something, I hope she will get some help to cope with that, so the home can stay this good.

She clearly grew up either in the great depression or during WW2 when food was rationed.

It’s always so frustrating with the food issues....they want to save it because of a fear of not having it but none of it gets eaten, so they contribute to wasting food. A vicious circle that doesn’t make sense to anyone but them. This lady runs a food bank, so of course she sees people struggle every day in relation to food. That can’t be helpful. Extreme couponers have the food issues as well but any that I have seen on other shows are very organized. Still an obsession / mental health issue but I do believe they actually rotate inventory and eat it, at least.

running a food bank, it is surprising she was not using the strategy of "first in first out"
