have had one in my trx4 for a year and it never skips a beat. i love all the programming options too it teaches you a lot about how settings and car setups work and affect the driving experience
I own 2 Pros and an SE all based on your reviews. I've only been I the Crawler game 9 mon'ths and I'm 6 highly modded rigs in already. Love your channel. Thanks sharing. 👍🏾💯
Awesome review as always Francis. I bought the Pro 1800kv as soon as you did a review and put it into my SCX-10. Absolutely transformed the whole crawler experience from that day forward. Would absolutely recommend them. a few crawler buddies got the SE and you wouldn't tell the difference in the way they drive that are that good. Would love if they would come OEM with new crawlers. Imagine how many more people would get into this hobby!!!
I put the fusion pro in my heavily modded everest 10. This is the absolute best motor I've put in this rig. I've tried max 10's, quicruns of various turns. The fusion pro is amazing. I'm running an 87 tooth spur with a 17t pinion. So i get great trail running speed, and pretty good crawling speed / torque. But the slow speed modulation is absolutely amazing! The only setting I've changed from default, was to turn down reverse from 100 to 50.
I was barely able to find and afford sadly an 1800 KV and have been saving for the pro before seen this.. an absolute world of difference on my 2-year rig I was gifted and it's like my service pet crawler pretty much bone stock besides aluminum rims and rapture tires and was absolutely night and day compared to OG motor with over 100 packs!! Squealed like a banshee.... Maybe one day I can afford some brass but thank you for the channel, great advice products and tips and keep it up everything you recommended has been helpful and especially being disabled with custom controls I used by mouth to radio Master gimbal spliced into SLT3 transmitter haha
I’ve got 3 crawlers with the fusion SE and 2 crawlers with the Pro…..I bought the Pro versions before the SE came out , very happy with the pro but for the money I’m sticking with the SE from now on….the minor differences between the 2 isn’t worth the extra for the Pro with my needs.. Great review as always!
With the cost of these so comparable to the brushed setups included with many RTRs (but with significantly better performance), I hope manufacturers will include these in a lot more of their new RTRs! 👍
I've got a friend who swears by the Fusion SE every time we talk about crawler motors. Still I just bought the Pro version for myself, just for the additional power to run my 7kg TRX-4 (optimized for looks over crawling performance).
I just installed one in my SCX10 II. It did great on the rocks, but on the trail, it was kinda noisy and jerky. I am going to try a different setting the next time out. .
Its a little journey. Otley modelsport (UK) is my nearest shop. They are awesome. Great shop. Nearly bought the pro last weekend. Had an eye on the 1800kv. £135, including card. The 2300kv £134. Card, £10. Adapter lead. £5. This vid made up my mind. Pro it is.
What tires are those on the blazer during the trail run at 7:17? I'm looking for a good trail tire that is decent on all surfaces not just rocks and it looks like they are doing well.
I would like you to compare the se to a ISD 70 or 90. I have the hw pro and both of the ISD esc and they all perform great for a crawler. Just depends on your budget. Love your videos
They look like the same product. One is 70amp max output and the other is 90 amp. Thus they'll work the same for a crawler. the ISDT ESC90, one can use for faster car/basher applications.
My father has the pro 2300kv in his trx4 sport, i have the 1800kv SE in my trx4 sport. The only differences we've found is the drag brake rate. Top speed and start up speed we've found they are the same. Trucks are almost identical apart from motors.
The Fusion SE is most likely the best "bang for the buck" mod you can do to any TRX-4. I bought a Fusion SE Fusion SE 1800kv for my new High Trail 1979 F150at the same time I bought the F150, and I installed the SE within an hour of bringing the F150 home. My older TRX-4 Defender has the original Fusion 1800kv motor in it, and I can't tell the difference between that one and the SE.
how were you able to use the Blazer body on the Sport without using the inner fenders? I tried to do that but the holes didn't line up in the rear. I did eventually get the inner fenders and was able to use it.
I am having issues installing the Hobbywing Fusion SE in my Everest 10 it likes about 3mm and it'll fit. I didn't do enough research to make sure it would fit. Should I send the motor back or is there a way to make it work?
It can handle one no problem but two is tough if both servos are at full load. That being said, I can’t see both servos asking full load at the same time.
Hey brother. Great video as usual. 😊 I have a question. What would be your recommendation on a 1/10 Redcat Racing lightning stk brushless motor and esc combo to achieve 70 mph? I bought the car and enjoy it on 2s but would love to see it do 70 mph.
It will work since that's a 2-speed but there's better motors for the job so it will be way better than stock. Something with a big can and lots of power would be cool. Something like this would be good bit.ly/4593Mw8
Can this setup (Sport with the Fusion SE) be used on walking trails and if so is it whining? I'd like to attend an event like "Beat the Creek" for example as well as take it on walking trails near my house but I don't want it to be so loud that it annoys other walkers.
Is this an old video? This motor came out a while ago now and Im sure you covered it already. Going off the thumbnail I thought there was a new product out quite weird timing to cover this motor again with no new info?
Check for any binding in the drivetrain by taking the motor of and turning the spur gear by hand. Otherwise, electronic issue and should really not get hot at all in a crawler.
