Today in Mexico, El Jefe Maximo will come out of the shadows and take direct control of the country again. He will outmaneuver the reformists and church leaders and ally himself with the northern Cacique-General to secure his power in a revanchist revolution.
The Maximo will go onto unify Centro-America under Mexican leadership and domination. But a grander prize awaits. For which Mexico will have to gather up all the resources and support it can get to eliminate it's greatest enemy and take revenge for Montezuma.

Tjockt requested this revisit of this achievement, Decided to have a spin on what I did last time. But that's the beauty of Mexico's tree since it's just so versatile you can pretty much go in any direction and still have a great time. Schedule for future videos: January 19th: - Empty Slot. What I think could be fun is to do something in Asia, haven't been there on this channel for sometime. So if you have any ideas for challenges, guides or anything of the sort that takes place in Asia do comment below.

Battlecry would be great. One of the last achievements I need. Can't seem to figure out the mechanics, especially in NSB.

The reason the portraits of Plutarco Elias Calles are different, is because PDX decided to use an early portrait of him, during his Military Carrer for the Field Marshall. The historical path is to exile him, mostly because by 1936 he became a general pest after his Presidential term, sitting behind the Presidential desk, poking the Presidents until General Lazaro Cardenas came into power, after a short discussion where Calles revealed his plans of the future, Cardenas declined, which caused Calles to plot and publicly protest against him, however Cardenas swiftly got rid of him. Sadly, Cardenas took the same approach and poked presidents after him, as a bigger annoyance than Calles, and once he presented himself to President Diaz Ordaz (1964-1970) with his own plans, Diaz said "Thats good, my General, but there is a slight issue here... I'm in charge here, not you."

Also in recent patch, Salvador Abascal's portrait has been replaced with a generic again.

Just before this I did it by going democratic and join the Allies ironically. That way half of the US divisions will be in Canada. This new mechanics make it a bit harder.

I know this is late but I tried this myself before watching and made a faction with Venezuela, and then the a couple months later I realized the USA stopped guaranteeing me, and I only took Central America. Did they un guarantee me because I was a faction leader?

He looks different because of his age. Calles was one of the generals fighting in the Mexican revolution, around 1917. His army portrait is probably taken from that younger Calles, while his diplomatic portrait is better chronologically fitting for 1936. A bit more about Calles and the focus tree:

The revolution unleashed warlords all over Mexico, originally united to take out a dictator, but then it became a free for all. Fighting went on even long after the dictatorship, with bandits in the north and something resembling syndicalism in the south. When Calles became president in 1924 with the party he founded, his main goal was to stabilize the situation by starting another war. Since 1857, the law in Mexico stated that the church holds no political power and is in no way related to the state. This was in no way the reality since, even in Calles' times, the church held great amounts of lands, money, and political weight. With the enforcement of the constitution as his excuse, he forcefully took the church's money, lands and resources for the federal government (This is why the focus is called Calles law). The cristeros rose up to protect the church, but the resistance wasn't enough to stop the government's power supercharged with newfound resources. Calles became so economically and politically powerful and popular that he's usually seen as the true power behind the next three puppet presidents, this period is known as the 'maximato'. Though his party was revolutionary, he slowly started to represent conservatism and stability, his opposition called him 'Jefe máximo', meaning highest chief, which is actually a stab at him being too powerful and becoming like a familiar dictator. The maximato came to end when the call for change was too great, his opposition rallied behind the up-and-coming progressive candidate Cárdenas(leader in 1936 start). The fact that Cárdenas ran in the same party that Calles founded goes to show how great the urge for reform was, though many in the party and administration remained mostly loyal to Calles. Cárdenas first move was to exile Calles, partly for their rivalry, or politically opposite views, but mainly for the administration's loyalty issues. Cárdenas is actually regarded as a good leader. With the US and Europe involved in the great depression and the looming war, he seized the opportunity to nationalize all Mexican resources, which had previously been given away as cheap concessions. Some would say this was only possible because of the power and stability that Calles brought.

At this point doing the world conquest is really easy. Just defeat the Axis with the Allies and the Soviets, then turn on the Soviets or the Allies, after taking Allies and Comintern defeat Japan. This should be possible when having US navy, industry and manpower.

@@BubblesZest More factories to lower US autonomy quicker + resources. Also the focus to core them takes around 180 days if Im not mistaken and you need to occupy the territories to do it, so by not doing that you’re just limiting your own economic and military buildup.

I think the reason the US backed down is because of your division number, at that point they usually have 50-60ish divisions and so they are intimidated by your bigger army size. I might be wrong as this is based off of my own experiences playing Mexico. Anyway, thanks for the guide, subbed and liked. Looking forward to future vids!
