My name is Taro Iwamoto. I'm a movement coach. I help people go from feeling overwhelmed, confused, and frustrated about not knowing their own body, what their body needs and how they should be moving, to feeling connected with their body, understanding their body and needs, and how to move in the best way possible for their own body from the inside out so that they can move with a sense of ease, comfort, and confidence! I am hoping it might be ok/appropriate to have my hands not on the floor (two permanently damaged thumbs prevent this) but 'grabbing' some sort of support (wadded up towel?) that would, in the end, be raising my arms about 5 inches off the floor. Would this throw everything off? Or is there a different position I can adopt not using my hands to support my body that would also work this awesome movement? Thanks!!

Taro, if I have a lot of difficulty opening my knees outward, even with a folded blanket, what is upstream from that, that I can concentrate on? I have always wanted to be able to sit on the floor cross legged.

once we adapt to chair/couch lifestyle and regular daily routines, we rarely move our bodies like we used to as a child, so our bodies adapt to how we use our bodies. Re-adapting to the floor is a great thing.
