I never used abyssal shriek during the radiance on my first time beating her. Absolute Radiance though, I'm trying to use them but end up dying before I get to.
he has infinite Iframes turn on. That’s why he doesn’t take damage twice when he should have during the HK fight. Not even shadow dashing, just face tanking and not being hit
@@GavinBeach-mx1gc Its sad, like think of the logic. Why would I care about cheating in Hollow Knight on a non-monetized video? You just don't know the frame data as well as you think you do.
2:55 THIS IS FOR SLY THIS IS FOR THE 3 NAILSAGES THIS IS FOR THE NAILSMITH THIS IS FOR THE STAGS THIS IS FOR HORNET THIS IS FOR THE SIBILINGS THIS IS FOR HOLLOW AND THIS IS FOR MYLAAAAAAAA
radiance hurt the sibilings, hollow, and corrupted myla we fought sly and the 3 nailsages in the pantheons, which are not likely canon, we fought hornet yes. and killing the nailsmith is optional.
@@UmbraMG apparently hollow knight will never kill nailsmith but forgive him. He is not really a threat at that time but more like helping hollow knight sword get sharp and stronger to complete his journey.
@@pacifistminigun3987 The hollow knight is easy and since you get healed back to full when the radiance fight starts you can totally just tank all of HK's hits and just breeze through his first phase. Even at that, it's still a super irritating thing to have to go through an entire boss before being able to fight the actual final boss
Adnonnymous “It’s still a super irritating thing to go through an entire boss before being able to fight the actual final boss” Lmao I’ll assume you didn’t like the Godmaster content?
My one tip for the radiance is that if your shade cloth hasn’t regenerated and that beam is coming for you, go into the spikes. They only do one damage, as opposed to two
this is "no damage" tho, and if you can react fast enough to go into the spikes you can instead just evade the beam long enough to be able to use shade cloak again
People talk about the bossfight and music, but damn I love the sound effects in this battle. It’s scream, it’s appearing noise, the light beams, just so good
The Radiance is absolutely, easily my favorite final boss out of any game ever. She is, in my opinion, the _perfect_ template for what a final boss should be designed as. She’s extremely difficult - the hardest boss of the entire base game (not counting any new bosses added by the DLCs) - but without having to resort to some cheap design choice or unfair tactic in order to be challenging. She has an _incredible_ presentation: from her introduction with the Knight and the sun in the background, to the ascent upwards by the player in pursuit of her, and the dramatic conclusion with her being pulled down by the Void, with one final, fierce roar before becoming totally consumed - every moment of the fight truly feels like the peak, the grand finale. And of course, what all great final bosses ought to have: a memorable and fitting music track to compliment the battle. I’ve played games with some good final bosses, and some with final bosses that I did not like. The Radiance is at the very top of my ranking list, within a league of her own. I don’t know when I am going to find a final boss as amazing as her, but I do hope that I come across them soon. (Who knows, maybe Team Cherry will out-do themselves with whatever Silksong’s final boss will be?)
Me: i want a true god *Radiance* Me: i mean TRUE god *small vessel who beat the Radiance without damage* Me: WHAT PART OF TRUE GOD DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND *Cornifer* Me: *finally, you've done something right.*
Who will win: The Hollow Knight, the second last boss or last boss, the pure vessel selected to contain the infection and the Radiance, Or.... One quicc empty boi
I find it funny because basically all the siblings are still "babies", Knight could be just a regular kid, BV being a small preteen and HK being an adult. Basically, Radiance was dragged down by toddlers and infants. What a nightmare (as Grimm smiles with glee).
The Knight is the same age as THK. You can see the Knight climbing the abyss at the same time as THK when you get the void heart. The Knight falls, but obviously makes it back out at a later date. For whatever reason, THK's body changed after the king's training If you look at the end of this scene, the Kight's horns are larger once it sheds its form. Similar to THK's horn
These all sound familiar except steady body. I need to do another video of Hollow Knight and try to do something similar with the Grimm Troupe. I liked that fight
Just want to chime in that it isn't really so much reflexes or physical ability of any kind but moreso pattern recognition and then internalizing the patterns to muscle memory. You are looking at gameplay that probably followed many many many repetitions of the fight.
This was the first time I saw this bossfight anywhere, and the music lines up so perfectly at 2:24 that I legitimately though that was scripted for the game, and was surprised when it turned out to not be.
This helped me so much, thank you!! I copied most of your build with Quick Slash, Unbreakable Strength, and Mark of Pride. For final slot, I played around with a few things but ultimately won with Unbreakable Heart (because I'm not as good as you and needed the safety net). For those struggling -- note that with Unbreakable Strength / Quick Slash combo, you can spam Hollow Knight until he's dead and pretty much ignore his attacks! Just take the damage, you'll be fine. Save your Soul for Radiance, and you'll get auto-healed when you go into the Radiance fight! Also, if you step to the side a bit at the start of Radiance fight, you can jump and get two hits in per jump instead of just one, so you start the fight with 4-6 hits on Radiance before they've even attacked. I had no idea there was a safe space between all the downward arrows (I thought you had to go to the big gap every time). That's super useful! When she does the eight lasers, once you're safe from the third hit you can usually heal. Or heal while sage from the eight needles. In the early parts of the fight, there's enough time between attacks that you can often get a heal in, sometimes two. Just be careful, especially if you're close to the edge where you're likely to get surprised.
How do people breeze through her second phase like that? Even with abyss shriek and a pure nail, it took me like 5 minutes to get through that part, and i've seen people just absolutley demolish it in seconds
Thanks, you are probably right. I just can’t remember the setup I had. Also one of the skills I had got nerfed shortly after, I remember reading in a patch note at the time. Perhaps quick nail
I would also like to know what your charm setup is, from what I can tell you have Nailmaster's Glory, Quickslash, probably Mark of Pride, and maybe Fragile Strength. Is this correct?
@@yanchukcha9748 wha?? Your not blind it just really looks quick. I was a little suprised when it was that quick but I did it just as fast last night and I won the same way he did.
i still think this is one of the most insane boss fight starts. you see the literal sun grow wings and then you feel the unstoppable wind thrown around by only its wings. ALL OF THIS TAKES PLACE IN FUCKING HEAVEN
jesus his game runs so much smoother i did pretty much the exact same thing but im swinigng at the fraction of the speed, and yes i also have all the speed charms as well
When the boss name "The Radiance" appears on the screen, I get fucking goosebumps. I love how they play with the boss name introductions. The Hollow Knight already got a special boss name introduction, but then for The Radiance the whole screen turns white and it says "The Radiance" big in the middle of the screen and with that music in the background. This game is just so unbelievably inspired in every single moment.
Y’know, when I was fighting radiance, I was singing Traitor’s Requiem to boost me up for some reason (seriously tough, that last part fits with the song’s final part)
I was so close to beating the radiance like 5 more hits and done but of course I can’t have any fun in this game. I am so close to tears it has been over 30 hours of grinding for this
So from what I can tell, the charm set you're using is Nailmaster's Glory, Sharp Shadow, Quickslash... maybe Strength? What am I missing? Incredible btw.
@@ICE-ing Yeah. There's an entire new expansion after Grimm that's essentially multiple boss rushes called Pantheons. And the final one is every boss in the game, including a stronger Radiance. It was absolute hell, but a huge accomplishment for me. But after seeing Absolute, vanilla Radiance looks so much slower, lmao.
