Definitely agree! One of their best. Saw them back in 1982 or 1983 when they opened up for Adam Ant in Long Beach, Ca. Nobody knew who they were but they sure ended up making a name for themselves. One of the best bands ever to come out of Australia if not THE BEST and they kicked ass over here in the states as well. R.I.P. Michael Hutchence. A great talent gone way too soon.

Early 80's too. Their third album - Shabooh Shoobah (1982) had pretty big hits with Don't Change, The One Thing, and Black & White. Their fourth album (1984) had Original Sin & I Send A Message, the their 1985 album had three big hits with What You Need, Listen Like Thieves, and This Time. After that Kick and X came out and they were more in the mainstream at that point.

INXS were one of the biggest bands of the 80s and early 90s. Try Devil Inside, Need You Tonight, Never Tear Us Apart, Suicide Blonde, New Sensation and Don't Change. Lead Singer Michael Hutchence was an 80s heart throb. INXS were an Australian pop rock band. They have sold over 70 million albums world wide. The INXS rabbit hole is big. RIP Michael. He was a rock god.

You must react to INXS "Never Tear Us Apart" which was shot around Christmas 1987 in the beautiful city of Prague during the Cold War when the Czech Republic was still Czechoslovakia and still under Soviet control. The song and the sax solo are simple but memorable. It truly captures the flavor of life behind the Iron Curtain at a time just before the Berlin Wall came down. It's a dark but lovely setting. Kirk Pengilly is the sax player.

If you want some horns there was a band that was ONLY horns and had a number one hit. It shows the kind of diverse music that was acceptable during the 60's and 70's. Herb Albert and the Tijuana Brass had a hit "The Taste of Honey". Only brass. Another horn-heavy band was Blood Sweat and Tears,

@@stevemurrell6167 Sorry, it’s just me: I don’t like the euphemism and never use it. When someone dies, I say “he died.” “Passed away” sounds so minimizing of what is very traumatic to the loved ones left behind. But as I said, it’s just my preference. I didn’t address it this way as I didn’t want to sound critical plus I wanted to make those aware-who might not have been-that Hutchence committed suicide.

Oh you can have so much fun listening to INXS! Most definitely 80's! They were one of my favorite bands back in the day. Michael Hutchence was one of THE most charismatic lead singers, and his passing was such a tragedy. Soooooo many good songs from them. "The One Thing", such a smooth and sexy song, as is "Need You Tonight". "New Sensation", "Never Tear Us Apart", "Suicide Blonde", "Don't Change", "Devil Inside", "Same Direction", and a couple that don't get mentioned a lot but are great songs IMO "One X One", and "Beautiful Girl".

I’m 46 and INXS is one of my favorite bands ever. Sadly I never got to see them live while Michael was still alive but I did see them in 2006 with JD Fortune singing lead and they were still fantastic. It’s probably in the other comments, but if you didn’t know, this really is a Band of Brothers. They’ve been together as a band since they were growing up in school in Sydney, Australia, but three of the six are the Farriss brothers- Tim, Andrew, and John. Michael and middle brother Andrew, who plays guitar, keyboards, harmonica, were/are the main songwriters. I highly recommend watching at least one song from their 1991 Live Baby Live concert at Wembley stadium in London in front of 70,000+ people. They were on top of their game, and as usual put on fantastic show for a hyped up audience. (I would recommend this track or pretty much anything from that show.)

In the 80’s , many Australian bands became popular and had hits on radio & MTV. In addition to INXS check out : Men at Work - “Down Under” Midnight Oil - “Beds are Burning” Crowded House -“Don’t Dream it’s over” Hoodoo Gurus -“Like Wow ,Wipeout!” All pretty unique.

Amber gettin a little Michael Hutchence up in her. An INXSessively nice rabbit hole to go down😉. Yes, they’re an ‘80s band. Part of a mini-wave of Aussie bands that invaded the decade-from Men At Work to INXS to Divinyls to Midnight Oil. Another albeit English band that sounds similar to INXS is The Fixx. Highly recommend you also check out is English Beat, whose music fuses Latin, ska, pop, soul, reggae and punk rock. Keep up the good work! 🤙🔥

Michael Hutchence is the lead singer. In 1997 he was found dead in his hotel room. Cause of death ruled suicide by hanging. INXS is form Australia. Also from down Under, try Midnight Oil's Bed Are Burning. Thumbs Up 👍 for more live streams.

The sax player for INXS is Kirk Pengilly. For Springstein it was Clarence Clemons, but when he passed in 2011 they brought Jake Clemons (Clarence's Nephew) in to play. And the sax player on Gerry Rafferty's "Baker Street" was Raphael Ravenscroft who passed in 2014.

INXS has a bunch of great songs!!! And wait until you really hear the lead singer Michael Hutchence voice...clear, strong and really nice. The girls loved him back then. "Need You Tonight" should be one of the next. But, they have so many. And do it while they are fresh in your mind. Don`t do another INXS song next year when you forget about "What You Need"...it`s easier to compare if you do a few of the same group in a row.

If you want my favorite INXS song, hit up Don't Change. If you want them to get crazy, New Sensation. Oh, and Kirk Penguilly (sp?) is the sax player.
