I imagine the simplest version of his thoughts would be: "This kid could be a big threat to my city... But he's also _part_ of my city." The instant Pete proved he had any capacity for change and improvement, Kingston's Populi nature automatically kicked in to give the kid anything he needed to make those changes and improvements stick. Of course, what Pete needed more than anything was a genuine Dad.

@Shaun O'Brien The deli's more than 60 feet from the house, so that fire is a no-go with the Rules As Written, too. I wouldn't allow these in a longer-lasting campaign because of the likelihood of repeated abuse, but in a campaign as accelerated as this one it's not as big a deal.

I'm absolutely in love with all this personal philosophy and belief system each character has. Just being around Brennan and the rest would bring such insight and wisdom I think. Also, that moment where Esther's mom tries to see darkness in Ricky but he's just walking closer to give a better look was perfect. I wish he raised his shirt to let them see better lol
