Home Free is gaining not just popularity, but also respect because of the respect they show to those who have paved the way. They were honored to make the re-make of American Pie with Don McClean for the 50th anniversary of the song. They recorded with Kenny Rodgers shortly before he passed, and have done a couple of songs with the country music group of the century, Alabama! These boys are aa class act in every sense of the word. Love your reactions!

This is one of my favourites. I adore the friendly competition between the two high tenors and the two bases. And all the fan-boying on both sides is simply hilarious. Both groups seem to be completely enamored of each other. Like Home Free considers The Oak Ridge Boys their mentors/models, and The Oak Ridge Boys are kind of passing the baton. And the way Home Free can completely fill in for any instrumentals you might have expected is just so wonderful. There's never a feeling that something is missing.

This is a great collaboration between Home Free & The Oakridge Boys. "Elvira" was a huge hit for The Oakridge Boys in 1981. You can see the great respect these 2 groups have for each other. The Oakridge Boys are mentors to Home Free & it is like they are passing the baton to a younger version of themselves. They have performed together on the Grand Ole Opry. Adam Rupp's vocal percussion is the best in the business. He can simulate drums & any other sounds perfectly. Home Free is my favorite a cappella group. They are so talented yet very humble guys

In this, The Oak Ridge Boys were helping and mentoring Home Free. They also had greats like Kenny Rogers work with them too. And, Home Free has been paying it forward to newer groups helping to use some of their popularity to help them. For one of these, one of my favorites to listen to as been Dreamer featuring Texas Hill live at the Ryman. Texas Hill has 3 singers that have done well in the reality singing shows. Casey James was 3rd in season 9 of American Idol, Adam Wakefield was runner-up on Season 10 of The Voice, and Craig Wayne Boyd won season 7 of The Voice.

Great reaction, Jen. I have never been sure how eight men plus a beatboxer can make so much sound. This and the associated BTS just express a joy, not just in singing but in singing well and singing with others. I have no idea what's going to be in the new season tour programme, but this was always a great hit with audiences and probably won't be abandoned. Austin had the shirt with the ORB autographs framed and it hangs in his house to this day. He does look very young indeed in this one but was in fact about 28 or 29 at the time. There must be something in the water in Georgia to keep someone looking so young. We are anxiously awaiting the the release of his "Two Tenors" project with Rob. They won't even tell us what they're singing, but i'm sure you won't want to miss it! About the Eurobash: still no dates at all but it will probably be in summer '23. My wife and i just saw Home Free in Anaheim CA. on the 13th to kick off their Road Sweet Road Tour and they did this song first. We were lucky enough to be front row center stage (about 8-10 feet from the guys) and their sound is nearly as good live as it is on a studio mix (some parts were even better than studio). Im not sure which was my favorite part of this song, either Tim dropping the bass on the "mow mow" which actually shook the floor, or Adams percussion which also shook the floor and our bodies. The entire show was incredible and they actually ran a bit over on time because it was supposed to be a 90 minute show which turned into just over 2 hours. Side note for the Adam lovers out there, he has changed up his "drum solo" to include looping, along with the other stuff in the video on YT.

Sorry I did not react to your reaction yesterday, arthritis raised its ugly head, and the meds would have made my words crazy. As always you did great and I loved your exuberant reaction. FUN FACT: Richard Sterban , was one of the backup singers for ELVIS. I still sing along on this song in the car.

The Oak Ridge Boys was the most popular version of this song, but it was originally written and performed by Dallas Frazier in 1966.

OMG, your reaction (as always) was absolutely entertaining. You get so excited and start hitting the piano and stuttering and singing, it fabulous. And you facial reactions and big beautiful eyes just make me enjoy watching. But most of all, the knowledge you give explaining what they're doing and how they do their magik, gives me the ability to truly understand what I'm hearing, and and takes the enjoyment to a higher level. 💕 from a non musically educated FAN!

Oakridge Boys have a special place in my heart. They dedicated their time to Michigan Special Olympics 1 year. Very special to me. The bass line literally vibrated the metal bleachers!! So amazing! And, my buddy Austin (he doesn't know he's my buddy...lol) started his career on cruise ships, where Home Free found him...thankfully! That's where I saw him & knew he would be somebody!

This song was huge back in 81. I remember it well back in the day. I think it's great that HF honored them with making sure they got the lead parts and hung back a bit to highlight their song.

Two of their covers that I feels are criminally underrated are there covers of 'Think A Little Less' and 'Die A Happy Man.' Both feature Chance pretty heavily which you haven't seem a ton of.

Love your passion for Home Free! I love them, Home Free has saved me from depression! Here is a few songs to check out. (Brothers in Arms, Colder Weather, Bless the broken road, End of the Road by Boys to Men, how great thou art. And Tim and Peter Hollens did Bridge Over Trouble Waters) All great songs. God bless.

Jen great reaction as always! Looked like you were having as much fun as the boys were in the video. I’d love to see you check out some of Home Free’s original songs. You will not be disappointed. Anything off the “Dive Bar Saints” album would be a great place to start.

Delightful analysis. This has been in my personal top 5 since I heard. This song can lift a mood like no other. So much fun to see someone who understands the nuances enjoy this collaboration as much as a casual listener! 😊
