Hi everyone! Welcome back to EPISODE 5 of the Home Refurb Series!! Woweee time is flying and so much progress is being made. I’m sharing a little loft update here at the start of this video but next week’s video is our one month progress so I’m saving most of the updates for that. This video is my Moodboard vid!! Sharing kitchen, bedroom and bathroom mood boards I made on Canva and linked below all items for the rooms. Taking you through the house room by room to share the kind of style we’re going for. We currently sleep in the loft conversion and it does get very hot in summer but that's totally fine. If you're planning little people in the near future I would seriously consider staying on the first floor - we moved to this place where we're in the attic and our toddler on the first floor - let's just say there's a lot of coming and going up and down stairs in the night, not every single night but kids sleep is unpredictable for quite a number of years. Loving your content and super helpful for a Reno we have coming up x

haha ahhh thats such a good point. yes we are absolutely moving back down once / if the little ones arrive. I already feel the burden of climbing two flights of stairs every time I get a glass of water my lazy won't be able to handle this for much longer haha

Beautiful mood boards and choices! I think I would keep the appliance in the laundry room modern to match the rest of your more contemporary house. But that´s just me. Excited to follow along!

Great idea!! I think we probably will because it's such a small space we definitely want consistency and a nice flow in there without it feeling overcrowded

Hi Jess, loving watching this reno series - I think it's going to look so great when finished. One thing it might be worth bearing in mind is that the black shower head is likely to be more prone to showing up limescale than a normal chrome or brass head, especially in London which is notorious for its hard water... I've heard it's very difficult to keep looking fresh. Looking forward to seeing these mood boards come to life anyway!

Loved seeing your mood boards!! Such a good eye for putting things together. I am currently trying to do up our flat but it's not our forever home so need to keep costs low but still make a good impact for selling.

oh my gosh that is so sweet thank you!!! I am obsessed with making mood boards and looking through all interiors and pairing stuff. Also feel you here thats exactly what we did with our last place. I sooo badly wanted to go wild but always had to keep in mind it was our profit property and not to get too carried away hehe. it's still a fun process though! and so worth it for when you get your forever home xxx

Beautiful mood boards! Watch out with the sofa and the cushions, we had a corner sofa with cushions that tapered and you just fall through them if you sit in-between them. Structured sofa cushions don't seem to do that :)

If its possible. try to not do front loading washer! Unless you've had them before and love them. They tend to stink and get full of mildew and mold easily and then your clothes smell like that! Just a thought! xoxo

oh my word my dream DREAAAAMMM is to have a top loading washer we had one when I was a child, but space in our utility just doesn't allow for side by side without compromising space for other things. Also as an adult it's all ive known is a front loader so maybe for the next home I'll get a top load :D

@@VictoriaRU-vid12 - In the UK everyone has front loading washi g machines and dryers. Top loading ones are really hard to get as they are not standard like the front loading ones

Hi. I would just like to ask, why do you not just add a little bit of room to the head height in the attic/ master bedroom. It is not horrendously difficult to do and it would make a massive difference for your comfort.

we would loveeeee to but it's at the legal height limit for getting planning permission approved. We actually looked at lowering the ceiling on the first floor which would create more height in loft without going above the legal height limit but it was sooooo costly and intrusive we had to make the decision it wasn't for us. Hopefully it won't feel too cramped when its done x

Does it get very hot currently upstairs in the summer? Something to think about if you have an attic room, or if will need some of air conditioning

we don't know yet in the attic. the windows we're ordering are those solar reflect ones to keep the room cool but the windows will be north facing, but the vellux in the forward loft space will be south facing so that may get a little toasty!

Word of warning if you have super hard water the black taps and shower heads are a nightmare to clean they turn kind of grey and white

@@Jessroseparr yes definitely! We’ve kind of given up keeping our black shower features clean now because its so bad where we live, although filter seems like a good idea rather than just replacing them now
