Thanks to the full size window, it’s considered a legit bedroom - good for resale. So, don’t hate on it too much.

5.1.2 can still sound amazing. I did a used budget build for a 5.1.2 and was shocked at the sound quality. Destroys a soundbar for sure 😉. Thanks for watching!

Nice Home theater! I’m still working on mine but I’m nearing completion in terms of major upgrades. I’ll always have things I want to add and tweak but for the most part I’ve gotten it close to finished… my last major upgrade was going from a Sony 75” 900e TV to a Epson LS12000 projector, it’s an incredible experience.

I notice a slight buzzing sound from my Rear channels. Fortunately it’s only audible when I put my ear right up in the speaker. If I could hear it from my chair that amp would be gone yesterday! 😁 Thanks for watching!!

Instead of in belling down firing front heights you should have gotten cSVS Elevation speakers to go down and into the room facing you. Iyes hey are on wall but better for ATMOS DTSX and Auro3D IMO (7.2.4 n my home theater)

If this was my setup, I would paint the raceways the same colour as the background walls. So they disappear. I was going to ask how's your noise floor, but the fact that you haven't mentioned your cables probably answers that. It's always nice to see the MLP away from walls, especially away from the awful sounding room modes from rear walls. Good job.

I took your advice and painted the raceways. After your comment I couldn’t get it outta my head lol. Thanks for the great suggestion! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CuzfVKhPrIw.html

The reason that adding the crown amps sounded better is they are capable of driving the 4 ohm speakers that you have. The Yamaha is not rated for 4 ohm speakers only 6 ohms or 8 ohms. It can't supply enough current for a 4 ohm speaker and you were asking it to drive 11 of them.
@GeorgeTheaterAtHome
@GeorgeTheaterAtHome 2 месяца назад
According to crutchfield they are 8 ohm speakers. But there may be something to your point. It could have be the speakers require more to adequately drive them? www.crutchfield.com/p_317INVSSPS/GoldenEar-Invisa-Signature-Point-Source-SPS.html

Have you considered going 7.2.6 instead of 9.2.4? That's what I'm eyeballing now, as wides are very rarely used in mixes as far as I've learnt (only in "real" dynamic object based Atmos, IF the mixer mixes object passing through there at all), but mixes done in 5.1.2 or 7.1.4 "static" Atmos can make great use of the x.y.2 and x.y.4 virtual layouts of the x.y.6 physical layout. Also Denon/Marantz can use x.y.6 setups even for full Auro 3D (I mainly use Auro for AuroMatic upmixing of music for which I find it superior to any upmixers I've tried so far), where the top middle speakers together can act as a phantom Voice of God Chanell. In x.y.6 ideally your top fronts and top rears are anyways no longer at 45 degrees like in an x.y.4 setup, but somewhere around 30 degrees to provide ample separation between top fronts, middles and rears - degrees that perfectly match with Auro 3D as well.
@GeorgeTheaterAtHome
@GeorgeTheaterAtHome 3 месяца назад
I considered doing this. The issue is the short distance from the 2nd row of seating to the back wall. Meaning, the 3rd row of height speakers would be physically located so close to the rear surrounds as to be indistinguishable from each other.
@kovacsgergely83
@kovacsgergely83 3 месяца назад
@@GeorgeTheaterAtHome Ah, I see, got you. And I assume the 2nd row cannot be move much further to the front. BTW I have a 5.2.4 in our living room,with Q150s fronts, surrounds & Q250c center, and now that I've seen your top fronts, I'm really tempted to switch from my current Polk OWM3 tops I have to Q150s there as well. ;)

how effective are the wide surrounds?
@GeorgeTheaterAtHome
@GeorgeTheaterAtHome 3 месяца назад
That is a great question. I haven’t yet listened to or watching anything that has fully taken advantage of the Wides. Where I’ve seen the most improvement is by moving my Sides back to be straight to the side of the main listening position, instead of forward. I love hearing Side channels coming directly from the side.

@@GeorgeTheaterAtHome my living room measuring 11.5 by 16.5 feet. I am wondering whether to go for 7.2.4 or 9.2.6 with one row of seats. any advice?
@GeorgeTheaterAtHome
@GeorgeTheaterAtHome 3 месяца назад
I think you would be fine with 7.2.4 in your space. Putting more speakers than that in a room of those dimensions would likely cause the speakers to be so close to each other, physically, as to make them indistinguishable from each other. You want some physical separation between speakers so that when sound moves from one speaker to another you can pick up in the change in location. Hopefully that makes sense.
