Things I really like: 1) magnetic masking screen 2) no Kaleidescape (It’s easier to buy 4K discs and use the money to upgrade the projector) 3) acoustic treatments are amazing Looking forward to another video when you add the subs and bass shakers.

I've watched many Home theater videos here on youtube and hope to have my own one day. Theres something about this one I really like. It looks like a real legit movie theater but comfier. Theres tons of awesome theaters out there but this one I really like because it's not over the top and very clean.

Well, I don't know how much money you did spend. But it seems pretty cost effective. I love to see a hometheater that is thought out from start to finish. Where everything just fits together. Where you don't have to overspend money to fix simple but crutial mistakes like speaker positioning or thinking about how much space you need for bass absorbtion BEFORE you build the room. I also love to see new desing Ideas I have never seen before. The bass Trap wall/ room divider. Whatever you wanna call it. Very big thumbs up from me 👍👍👍☺️

Thanks Dan! I'm a dealer/designer so I wanted to show them off. When I can't hide speaker like I could in my room i use the 9 sat often. They're fantastic and honestly with the 45 degree baffle and aimable laser there's no compromises. They also match the bed layer as they have the same woofer and very similar tweeter.

Question for you... why not go Triad gold all the way around? Also any interest in Trinnov for the future? Congrats man!

Thanks Twista! I would have loved Golds all around but even at dealer pricing i can only afford so much..:). Same with Trinov. The design is going to be a much bigger influence on the sound that a Trinov vs Anthem change anyways. In other words I can design my way out of Trinov being a large performance value.

For gaming you need to get the new xbox or ps5. If you play them on a tv its not the biggest difference in picture quality but on a projector it is a massive improvement.

Looks great. Comfortable and inviting. I have only 7 foot ceiling height in my cave. Some times the top sound field has great motion and solid impact. Other times it gets washed out and overpowered. Watching the new Apple+ series "Slow Horses" I was surprised by a scene where the boss pounds on the floor from upstairs! It was extremely tangible and detectable. I honestly thought someone was pounding on my floor upstairs just to the right of the screen and 5 feet in from the front wall. I had to play it again. I suppose it comes down to my imperfect setup but also the engineering of the soundtrack? Are there any tricks or quick fixes that I might use concerning a low ceiling for my height speakers?

Thanks Finn, And yes the video before this one may help. Getting the atmos into amore studio like setup really ensures you'll hear what you should. The home version of the atmos tolerances are so wide you can have great atmos or poor atmos.

Thanks Travis! Covid and time happened. We were going to do the Medieval room but sonotube (for columns) jumped up to a ridiculous price and also we decided it would take too long and I had the rest of the house to finish as well. Also the new design just fit the house style better. As for Auro no I don't mess with it. Honestly if you watch the video before this one I really think those issues are most peoples problem with Atmos.

@@hometheatergurus Steve, I'd be interested in hearing your opinion on the auro upmixer if you ever get a chance to review a processor that has it. I've played with it on my denon avr-x4400h and compared it to the DSU. I've found for stereo sources there is too much vocals in the left and right channels when using auro creating too large of a front sound stage and dsu does better. However for any 5.1 (or greater) source material, I prefer the auro.

Love the room and equipment used. I have a question I’m currently running Martin Logan xti60 for front with an xti50 center and motion 40 for the sides and some def tech speakers for rears but the question is my Denon x3600h is acting up and am looking at either a different receiver or processor what do you recommend. I’m also running a marantz 5 channel amp I think 7708 but I could be wrong. Don’t really want to go over the 4000 dollar mark though.

Nice video. Inspiring. I am home shopping and may have a chance to build my own room or free stander, depending on how things work out. Question about your dimensions: why did you go so tall with the ceilings? Seem relatively high given room width.

Thanks! It's an ideal size and ideal height. There are some basic room ratio guidelines which were part of the decision. I was able to basically make the room any dimension I could within reason of course. When you're doing an atmos setup it's always best to have a tall ceiling. 12' is a perfect height.

This is just amazing. Currently building a house and building a dedicated theater space. I’m pretty sure I’ve got the speaker layout correct. Surprised to see you advocating for insulation that fills every nook and cranny and appears to be fairly tight in there. Conventional wisdom is to weave batt insulation through a staggered stud wall and those resulting "air gaps" are a good thing as far as sound absorption. Thoughts?

It's not tight but loosy filled and is far far superior in every way. They don't pack it in, it's pumped in. Air molecules allow sound to move they do not attack it. Air gaps are not something we want. If that was the case we'd leave the cavity hollow.

It looks like those rear Silver Sats are toed-in towards MLP, yes? Did you do that via a baffle wall and will end up covering up with a fabric wall? Is this possible with mounting into drywall? I'll have my rears about 30-35 degrees off the straight back from MLP axis.

Yep they're toed in. As explained in the video the rear wall acts as a bass trap wall. The inwalls used are very versatile.

It's on the list. I have a temp single sub running right now. I really want to get the dual subs done and have them in before I do the ARC video. Right now the cabs are built, amp is the rack, I just need the drivers to arrive. Eminence is pretty backed up.

not sure if you watched the whole video but right now the Devs are waiting on drivers. Im using one hammer which is crazy as the bass sounds so good. AS of now I'm just using arc. Once i get the devs I'll implement the minidsp Flex. I likely will need no delay to align them but willl need a HPF and the Dev needs boosting. So that is to be determined. I have used the new version of ARC. It's time alignment works very well and it sets the phase of the subs now too.

Do you ever recommend the Anthem MRX over the AVM? It seems like a good idea to spend the same amount and get some amplification that can be used at least on the height channels or rears.

Sure. I do plans all the time using receivers. The processors aren't in everyone's budget and the AVR route can sound amazing. My old theater used an AVR with outboard amps for the bed layer and the AVR ran the atmos. Anthem's room correction, ARC is so great and is so flexible . MRX is a very good option.

There's no really good option in the lineup other than silver sat 9. It's the only one that allows toe in and adjustments. The other options are aimed forward so only the seat inline is on axis as the other seats have less energy as you move off axis. I use them rarely but I'll explain this to the client and position them with those issues in mind. If you want the absolute best performance you need toe in. Any one says other wise is either lying to make a sale or they just don't know better. If they claim wide dispersion makes toe in not needed they don' t understand what wide dispersion is and and how toe in opens the sound stage and gives better sound to more seats, much like toe in of mains does. Now as far as open or enclosed if you don't care about more sound containment the open is fine. You'll use bass management to deal with not having an enclosure to control the low end. If you need help I am a dealer and assist with placement of everything I sale and bedlayer orders come with a full blown layout/acoustic plan.

Ha.. man I need to get my butt back in shape. I'm down 15 lbs from my norm which you can see when I first started the channel. I'm in my mid 40s now so my goal is how not to hurt myself...😆. The hardest part is eating enough. I've always eaten 6x a day but it takes a lot of the right calories to gain and maintain.

They are competitively priced even having better drivers than similar priced options and their inwalls have better cabinets than most mass produced floor standers. Probably not as much as you think depending on your goals. Shoot me an email. It's in the description.

A shame you don't use a quality camera to show off your masterpiece. Can't say i'm a fan of those Triads as they look a bit wimpy. For home theater I prefer something horn/compression driver type of speaker for effortless dynamics and "live" sound. That is of course preference. I don't doubt the Triads will easily hit reference in your theater. Awesome job.

Don't judge a book by a video :). I've had several cinema speakers from JBL 3677s , QSC 2150s to DIY. This is hands down the best sounding room I've had. I have a client that just finished a room with Gold LCR. He's had 3677, 4722 with Be mod, JTR, JBL 708 and just came from HDI3800. Of course his big concern was dynamics. He and his calibrator who's done all his rooms both said this is without a doubt the best sounding room he's had. The Gold LCRs dynamics are incredible. I used to be all caught up in horns too so I understand why you think the way you do.

Me showing a video playing on the screen isn't a demo. It's kinda wasted video space with no useful content. But maybe I'm out of touch.. Maybe next time.

Actually this is one of the better videos I've seen because of the informative discussion and time is not wasted on a demo which would convey nothing through youtube and my speakers. Only thing I'd ask OP to change is use less stock video and photography, as its a bit distracting.
