Part of one of the reasons Homelander doesn’t straight up kill Butcher isn’t because he likes him, but because he thinks the world is more interesting with him around. The moment you fear HL, your life is doomed. But people like Butcher or Stan Edgar look at HL like a disappointed dad, HL doesn’t kill them because he wants them to be around so he can prove something to them.

Butcher and Homelander are so similar and Butcher is ashamed to admit it. Abusive childhoods, terrible fathers, and being forced to become monsters when they didn't want it. Even when fighting each other, they both have that crazy smile. Homelander hates all non-supes, and Butcher hates all supes.

Lowkey kinda don’t like the direction they’re taking with the other characters of the boys like Starlight and Mothers Milk and like everyone else except Hughie and Butcher. They just seem to be getting way more screen time but are definitely not as interesting or entertaining as butcher. I love em, but I can’t help but hate how they utterly disregard everything butcher has done. He literally makes all of them. Without butcher, none of them would be where they are, for better or for worse. The boys are nothing without butcher.

Back in the day when Injustice was all the rage, I always felt like the whole Superman versus Batman shtick was just about ruined when they gave Batman powers. Kind of goes against the whole thing of their rivalry. I kind of like the rivalry between homelander and butcher and for that, the boys and superheroes when there is that inbalance of physical power.

Butcher is one of the few people that doesn't fear Homelander, and I'm pretty sure Homelander realized that early on. I wouldn't say they respect each other, but I think they realize that they're more alike than they would care to admit. That's why their interactions are casual for the most part. It's their similarities that draw them together. It's as if they're challenging each other to see how far they will go to win and which one will eventually accept defeat. Like a very fucked up game of chess.

Butcher's and Homelander's flaw arent the same. One hurts ppl cos they think it's the only way to get justice while the other hurts ppl cos they think it's the only way to feel superior to ppl. They're both going on separate arcs with one learning to accept love and empathy while the other is learning not to chase after love to suit their lack of empathy.

Butcher gives Homelander actual entertainment while everyone else just cowers to him. The whole "fight to the death" promise last season was Homelander wanting their conflict to cause widespread chaos and damage, simply because it alleviated his boredom.

Homelander - Utterly disrespectful towards the rest of the 7. Nearly kills A- Train for saying F-U under his breath. Sees normal humans are weakling and toys. Homelander with Butcher - Asks permission to get inside his apartment. Doesn't get angry when Butcher calls him a c**t for 100th time but instead laughs it off like they ate buddies. Respects Butcher and treats him as equal, even challenging and aknowleging him as a threat. Doesn't kill despite the fact that he is creating a rift between him and Ryan.. I guess being unchallanged in a world where no one stands up to you on your face is boring. Funny enough Homelander gets pissed when you say things behind his back or lie. But he is amsued by geniune bravery like from Butcher or even Hughie.

I still don't understand why stupid people think it's idiotic for this Channel or whatever you want to call it to show the graphic violence from the show but not any of the, by today's standards, super big cussing. Newsflash you preschool dropouts: Those do not inherently go together, you can have one without the other and when you focus just on one; it packs a bigger punch.
