Thanks for stopping by. This blower was put in a garage and allowed to set for several months with gas in it. The end result is a starting problem. Lets see if we can get it back into working condition.

Just bought this at a yard sale. Like $10. Followed your steps. The metering diaphragm is solid as a rock. So I ordered one off eBay. Thanks for your help. I will keep you informed.

Thanks for this, tried to start mine that I got with my house (the last owner left it behind), And it pulls but just wont start. Seeing this could be the issue, I ordered the part on amazon, l'll see if I can get it started.... It was cheap enough to give it a shot..

@@INSIDEHOUSEGARAGE Thanks for the advice. After changing this part, it started right up ! The problem is if i put it flat on the ground, it will stay running sometimes but, as soon as I move it it stalls out. Any idea ?

@@TheCoolDave check the fuel filter in the tank and see if it's in there. Of so make sure it sit at the very bottom of the tank. After that check the spark plug wire and plug itself. Check for breaks in the wire and look at the plug tip.

@@INSIDEHOUSEGARAGE Fuel filter fell off, putting it back on the hose would just split it.. Spark plug looks fine, even replaced from a working weedwacker (same specs). and no signs of any wire issues, looks new. Doing searching people are saying the carb needs adjustment. BUt, I need a $5 tool to do that...

Bought a new homelite blower. and has a trigger throttle unlike older ones with a lever throttle. Unfortunately the new one has the carby mounted upside-down making adjustments to the carby nearly impossible. can I just swap out the carby with the older model lever throttle so the carby adjustment screws are at the top where they should be?

it's possible but you could run into some issues with "orientation" of the controls.

Can you get a hold of a compression tester and see if the compression is good.

Man that's kinda disappointing... I might as well just change the entire carb will cost about the same as a pack of Diaphragm plus comes with a free spark plug and gas lines also take about as long to get to me.. and seems more fool proof.. But I guess maybe I should order a pack of Diaphragms for the future too.. idk.... Man I hate buying parts for these little gas engines.. Makes me wanna switch to battery powered tools...

Hi I opened mine up and found that the diaphragm was still soft I move it about put everything back in but it still won’t start ??

Did you have spark at the plug? if so, I would then do a compression test to make sure the engine isn't worn out.

wow theres so much more to small engines than i know so far ive fixed everyone ive tackled but this leaf blower i cant get to start maybe this is my issue with it ill try spraying the carb cleaner in to see if it start then if it does who'd think a small looking like peice of paper would keep an engine from starting?

I know right. Many years ago, I was racking my brain trying to clean carbs and never realizing that a little diaphragm was the problem .

try removing the spark plug and spraying some wd-40 or some other type of penetrant in the engine, Then let it sit over night.

@@INSIDEHOUSEGARAGE I replaced the entire carb and fuel lines and the coil with brand new spark plug and still nothing. Someone said to replace the crank seal which I ordered and waiting for. Any other suggestions pleas?
