Dude, I did exactly as you did...the jet was completely blocked. Cleaned it out, put it together and it started on the 2nd pull!!! Thanks

I watched your video, and if you have an issue with what you found after taking apart, you can probably eliminate a lot of steps if not changing anything out and just cleaning. if you can put the machine on its side with gas and oil out of engine, you can clean the carb as you did right from the bottom. I disagree with the blowing of the air into the tank, in that would you not just blow any loose crud right into the gas line itself? Your video did help a great deal with how to clean it. Thanks

Hello Sir: First of all, Thanks for your interesting and educational videos. I'm trying to find an oil drain valve to ease oil changes on a BlackMax 903600 generator and I see the small drain nut in this video @3:40 and is similar to the one in my Gen. Do you know how to find a proper valve for that small drain hole size? Any help is appreciated in advance. Again; ...Thank you!

Awesome video. This was exactly what I needed to get mine running again. After I did all the same checks, cleaning, and inspections, I put it back together and had to use a make shift foam for the filter. Mine had a lot of oil in the carb and all throughout. I added oil according to the manual. I gave it a few pulls and it started; it smokes blue smoke now. Primarily at the exhaust. any tips as to if that is from the oil or the make shift filter? Thanks

If it was ever over filled with oil or tipped over or had gas in the oil from a flooding carburetor or an oil saturated air filter. Make sure it has proper oil level let it run and smoke it will clear up and be fine after it burns off all excess oil in mufffler etc...

Jeff, I have this exact machine, and it won't start and even backfired. I replaced the carburetor. Should I check the valves? Any idea on the specs for that clearance as I can't find it...

Hey man. I am trying to drain the old gas out of mine. Could I remove the float bowl and turn on the gas valve to drain it? The fuel line is being a pain and I don't have the angled needle nose like you. Great video!

Yip my Homelite water blaster started 1st pull of cord all summer, left in garge over winter now spring won't start put in new NGK sparkplu , fuel, oil ,still weak spark yellow and wont start carb next ?

yes must have water or it can damage the pump. My jet removal tool came from Tecumseh I believe

Hey Jeff! I had a helluva time with the spark plug on my new-to-me unit of the same variety. I could not get a plug socket to go on straight enuf to seat on the flats, because of interference from the valve cover. I tried several! Wound up using a combination wrench. (Plug looked great, btw. Rusty as yours but the insides were the best you could hope for.) Also, my manual specs a 6 instead of a 5 on the plug? So any insight or experience with the obstruction issue? Thanks, in advance!

Yeah. I just gotta figure out why I still have these 2 screws! Same size as the one holding the oil level switch. Gonna rewatch the teardown and hope I figure it out.

What if there is no compression or what ever at all. Engine don't attempt to even turn on?

Check for spark, check for fuel delivery and compression

I have same exact machine. Bought a carburetor. Engine starts on RUN but dies soon after. Sometimes I can get 5 minutes of use. Carb is new. What else to check?

I would clean the gas tank and carburetor.

I did all of these clean the carburetor out (mine did not have that long jet ) and when I put the choke to start it dies on me but if I leave it in choke halfway it still runs any suggestions what help please?

You lucked out with the bowl gasket. Mine leaked and now having a fun time trying to find one without having to buy a kit. And they say there is no part number for the gasket so buy a new carb. or buy the over price kit witch i found out the bowl gasket does not come with the kit. Another fine company making junk.
