These brats were easy to make and I had most of the ingredients on hand. They're much cleaner than pre-packaged brats and taste better too.
Brat Ingredients:
2939g pork butt and spare rib trimmings
56g kosher salt
9g white pepper
9g ground mustard
9g caraway seed
6g ground ginger
6g ground nutmeg
3g mace
117g dried milk powder
294g heavy cream
2 eggs

I love using some of the onions from the braising liquid to put on top of my brats and that's good enough for me! Great video, and thanks for giving me today's brat craving

Beautiful video. Gotta love the homemade brats. What brand is the carbon steel pan you are using? You are sparking some inspiration to dive into the homemade sausage world!

I came across your channel from Chud's bbq. Glad I did. You have some good videos. Take some of that bratwurst meat and make patties out of them like you do for burgers. I do 2 Johnsonville links to a patty. Toasted brioche buns, mustard, pickles, onions, sauerkraut and a slice of American cheese. I've been doing this for years and my family loves them. Great video!

What makes this a bratwurst? Been watching many videos on sausage making. Where are the details? Why does everything have to be an affiliate link from Amazon? Can I just use my Knife I already have? My cutting board? Do I have to buy the exact same things you have?

Pork, the seasonings and heavy cream make it a brat. No need to get anything I use, use what you have. I include the links in case people see something in my videos that they want. They don’t have to search for it and I get a small kickback for sending them to Amazon.

@swinebovinebarbecue
@swinebovinebarbecue 3 месяца назад
@@sandersjones1577 the exact amounts are listed in the description of the video. I list them in grams as it makes it easy to get precise amounts. You’ll want to use a food scale

@sandersjones1577 3 месяца назад
@@swinebovinebarbecue your video is on key for that amount of meat. My concern is more or less meat. I got rave reviews on your recipe thank you again
@swinebovinebarbecue
@swinebovinebarbecue 3 месяца назад
@@sandersjones1577 ahh, I see what you mean now. The best way to figure it out is to divide the ingredient grams by the meat grams, then multiply that by the amount of meat you have. Let’s say you have 2400 grams of meat. To find the white pepper conversion, divide 9 by 2939 to get the percentage I used (in this case it’s .0030…..). Multiply the weight of your meat (2400) by that number to get the converted weight of 7.35 grams. Hope that makes sense.
