In this video I show you how I built this very functional folding pontoon fishing boat. The legs fold in for transport and fold out for stability in the water. Thank you for watching, subscribing, and sharing.

I don't even know how I came here from SNL and crochet videos. I don't fish and live faraway from any body of water, and honestly I kinda hope that something silly would happen (and it didn't)...but I'm glad I watch this. It's quite interesting and impressive. 👍👍

Greetings Brother! I’m 47 years old and being born and raised here at Lake of the Ozarks, I’ve been fishing primarily for Crappie and Catfish my whole life. . Two years ago my son, who is now 12, discovered fishing as well, and we haven’t gone more than 48 hours without fishing, every Summer Vacation since that time!! We love fishing. Crappie are easily taken here right off of boat docks. But in my neck of the woods, catfish, especially “Trophy Size” Blues and Flatheads, won’t be taken often, if at all, without owning a small boat to go out at night when they hunt. To that end, I’ve been researching the available options for building one or two small craft for specifically for that purpose, and in all my hours and hours of looking ( days is more like it!). your design, is exceptional in its simplicity and portability, and is one of my favorites, by far. I see many short “Great Job” , and “Cool!” type of generic, quickie comments on your project, but I also see a few , that I feel are a bit condescending. No, your boat won’t last two seconds on my lake on a Saturday , during tourist season, or anyplace that has a name ending with, “Ocean”.. But that’s because you obviously don’t live on, nor plan to use your craft ON any of those waters. It looks to me like a private lake, obviously restricted in its use, and you have no need to fear the Towel Sharks swamping you with their 40’ Sea Ray , monstrosity , that they paid half a million dollars for, to drive 3 months a year. Your design is lightweight, cheap (comparatively) , super easy to build, and in my opinion, your boat is PERFECT for someone with specific needs. Many people become professionals once they get behind a keyboard. They make suggestions about how you should have done this, and why didn’t you do that...How come you didn’t? Blah, blah... You designed it they way you did for a reason YOUR REASONS, for YOUR location and needs. This ain’t your 1st Rodeo either . You’ve arrived at this design based on previous attempts. I wonder how many guys picking apart your efforts have even had the Sack to Man-Up and build their own boat from scratch.? No kit, no blueprints, but from scratch? So, in closing, I’ll only offer these two thoughts for your consideration. 1). The Internet and especially social media , has inadvertently caused most of us to forget our manners. Many of us have become conditioned to see everything through only our own lens, making us very intolerant of anything we identify as not perfect in our conception of the world. Along with now having the ability to be cruel and/or judgmental of others...anonymously.... Don’t let those voices discourage you or your future ideas. Most people can’t see past themselves anymore . Don’t let them discourage you. 2). Keep up the good work!

Every since I was a boy, I always wanted to build something like this. A slight different design is what I've had pictured in my head all these years but many things shown in your video, just might piece together some of things I would need to do to accomplish my childhood dream. I'll be retiring in 2 or 3 years so this might make a very good retirement project for me. Thanks for the video! Have a great day!!!

I think this will work pretty good just to make bigger pontoons and front ones more pointed for aerodynamics. These are just getting by. If you made them bigger and filled the tubes, almost all of them with expanding foam Not only would it be more buoyant but it wouldn't ever sink because no water can get in those tubes. The phone takes up all the space for water. I think if you do those two things that thing will work awesome!! Just giving you some tips from the one I built.

@@supergokue1 no problem. I used to live in an amusement park growing up. Yep an amusement parks! Luckiest kids in the world let me tell you! See my Dad was a VIP employee and the owner liked him in the back 🏠 house in the woods behind the camping section. So there was a lake with pontoon boats that were 2 person and had a big paddle in the middle that you peddled/ paddled. They were a similar bigger version of what you built. Justbig aluminum pontoons filled with foam and 8' angle iron that hooked the 3 pontoons together. Anyways the park closed and we took a paddle boat and pontoons that sat for years. As a kid I said I was going to built that pontoon damn boat. Well.... It took 20 years till I had enough 💰 money to pay for all the parts. IT WORKED!! I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT!! ONLY issue it still filled with water. Not nearly enough to sink it but that Son-Bitch weighed hundreds of pounds.See although it got water in it, it wasn't enough to sink it. That's what I meant.

My 6 year old grandson enjoyed watching this with me and discussing how you were building it and why you did it this way or that. Thanks for that experience my friend. Now I want to see a 10lb + bass tow you around the pond lol.

Pretty nice design! One recommendation I would make is to use A-line X coating on the pontoons this way you don't have major problems if you run into any hard objects while in the water. It would be pretty easy for a hard piece of debris to make a bad day because the pontoons are made out of high density foam. Align X coding would make it a lot more stout and in the incidents were you did hit a hard piece of debris it would keep it all held together if the foam did break even within the line X coding.

Much better but, anyway, what I would like to say is that you don't need to use the cleaning (purple) colored solution, the clear PVC glue in itself will cement the PVC fittings to the pipe, and it will be water tightly; once cemented you won't be able to separate the fittings from the pipe.

Ingenious and clever, paint the nose of the pontoons red and you've got a classic Star Trek Enterprise fishing boat.

Of all the designs of yours, that I've seen so far... and that's several, but probably not all... I like this one the best... simple and easily fast enough for its purpose... I might increase the circumference of the pontoons adding just enough length to their support arms to accommodate the added size... to increase buoyancy and lift your deck maybe 2 more inches out of the water... I'm not sure it is entirely necessary but if I were to make any changes that would probably be it... other than possibly adding a small cooler under the chair...

Nice. Only change I would make would be; design a cone shape front & back for each of your pontoons. It would allow the pontoons to slice/glide through the water, thus reducing drag, and which in turn would reduce the energy consumption of the electric motor.

You are correct, these pontoons had a ton of drag. A redo of the shape would help out a lot. Thanks for the suggestion.

Great innovation! I think you need a folding umbrella to complete the design. We are going after the fishes and not sunburn. :)

supergokue1 my orasure. Nice and cute design anyway. Besides adding an umbrella, maybe a cup holder at the side of the chair will be a nice addition too. :):
