Tip to peeling fresh peaches. Bring water in a pot to boil and drop in peach for 30 seconds to a minute. Remove from water and peach peeling should come right off with little effort if not drop back in water for a few more seconds.
Ingredients: 4 cups of Fresh Sliced Peaches 1/3 cup of Granulated Sugar ½ tsp of Ground Cinnamon 2 tsp of lemon juice For the Batter: 1/2 cup of Unsalted Butter, melted 1 cup of Flour 2 tsp of Baking Powder ¼ tsp of Salt 1 cup of Sugar 1 Egg ¾ cup of Milk Preparation: 1) Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. 2) Pour the butter in the bottom of a 9x13 baking dish and set aside. 3) In a saucepan, add the peaches, sugar, cinnamon and lemon juice and bring to a boil. Turn off the heat and set aside. 4) In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Add the egg and milk and stir to combine. 5) Pour the batter over the butter but do not sit the two together. 6) Scatter the peach mixture evenly over the top and don’t stir them in just leave them as is. 7) Bake for about 40 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with ice cream if desired.
Just had to let you know this was really good!! I had canned some peaches from last year (homemade canned peaches taste so much better than the store bought stuff). I made 2 pans of this cobbler and took it to my Bible study and there wasn't anything left!!
made this today for thanksgiving, I used canned peaches but I drained them before I cooked, and self rising flour because that was what I had on hand, and it came out delicious!
Turned out perfect!!! I didn't cook the fresh peaches but just coated them with sugar, cinnamon and lemon and kept aside for a while. Made this numerous times with peaches, apples and a combination. Always turns out great. I just double the fruit quantity with the batter.
Laura, I'd just like to thank you for all of your GREAT EASY recipes. I made your version of the peach cobbler...needles to say, WE LOVED IT! 👍🏽 The cake batter is WAY BETTER than the thin crust, homemade or store bought, this is the BEST way. Thank you from my family... They actually have come to the conclusion that I can cook. 😉
Omg. You should have seen my face when I saw how it all baked in a perfect layer. I was imagining peaches on top from the way you poured, I must try this
My mother made the absolute best peach cobbler. She used canned peaches and pillsbury refrigerated pie crust. It was buttery and rich with nutmeg, ginger and a hint of cinnamon. The best, ever!
If you want cobbler with a dense, rich, and crispy crust put some canned peaches in a small casserole dish. Get a box of white cake mix and sprinkle it evenly over the top. Then put 9, 1/8 inch butter pats in rows on the top and throw in the oven at 350 for 2-2.5 hours. Makes for a very rich, dense and delicious dessert. Also known as camp cobbler, cause its so simple you can make it in a Dutch oven over a campfire. I've done it. It was amazing.
Sounds awesome!! I just bought some fresh peaches from my local farmers market today and can't wait to make this!! Could you add a little nutmeg in with the peach mixture?
+Laura in the kitchen....Today i made this for the first time! !! its amazing! !!! and easy, I don't bake at all but for sure i will keep doing this Peach 🍑Cobbler! !! Thanks for sharing the recipe 😘
So, I was watching this recipe like 10 mins ago.. I checked the ingredients and I had all of them. 10mins later, my peach cobbler is in the oven, baking :D.. Thanks Laura
I made this for dessert tonight since I have some overripe peaches and it was so crispy and good. My advice is to half the sugar in the batter because it was too sweet for my liking.
I made this recipe yesterday and let me tell you I love love it. I found a new way to make peach cobbler and it so easy. Thank you for sharing,I will never make peach cobbler any other way.
Just tried this recipe and it's so good! My family likes it. I put canned peach instead because it's winter here and i added half of the canned water peaches n put less batter n sugar. It still turns out really good. I also added vanilla extract to the batter :)
it was yummy!! perfectly easy and came out great! Only thing next time I'd like to put less sugar in the dough as the "filling" is sweet enough on it's own :) but as always great - thank you Laura :)
I first made your peach cobbler end of 2014 and I haven't stopped!! Today (Good Friday), I've been told to make enough for 2 serves per person for our family dinner!! Such a great recipe Laura! xx
I always want to use your recipes but I never do. Its hard getting the measurements. I Dont know how you guys bake without it. still I love your baking. thanks
I made it and it tasted very good, but maybe I was converting cups into grams wrong or it's just my taste: it was extremly sweet and buttery (nothing wrong in general :D) I will alter it to my prefernces and make it again soon
Mmm, delish. I haven’t actually made it with peaches yet, we get more pears in Ireland, which I prefer so I use them. And also, who doesn’t want to watch a beautiful girl showing you how to make something?.
Hi Laura! I really adore all your recipes, but in an attempt to keep the family on a more healthy diet, I have been trying to cut out butter and granulated sugar in my baking! What could be some substitutes for those ingredients? I know for a fact that you used Earth butter in one of your Kitchen Rehab recipes, and sugar substitutes, but will the final product still taste and look similar?
Love your show Laura!!! Every time i tune in both of my kittens have to stop what they're doing and watch your show with me they will not do this with anyone else's youtube channel just yours it's adorable!!!! BTW i made the Penne Vodka and everyone loved it! Thank you for making cooking easy!! Laura H.
Hi Laura! I made this peach cobbler last night and I have to say... It was amazing! My husband and I almost ate whole cobbler. This is the second dessert I have made that came out perfectly! Thank you!
I just made this but with half the sugar and it still tastes delicious!! Super easy to make even the worst baker can do this(me lol) will definitely do it again
Don't have any peaches at the moment, but l've got blueberries. l think l'm gonna try to do a blueberry cobbler with this recipe, and just leave out the cinnamon. lt's good with the peaches, but l don't know if it would go as well with the berries. Fingers crossed....
I made my first peach cobbler today, and I was just telling my auntie I don't like canned peaches, but I do like fresh peaches. She didn't get it lol. There is a difference.
No, she said Bisquick, a Betty Crocker product, commonly used in baked desserts like cobblers, pies, crisps, etc. Bisquick mix was very popular in the 1960s-'80s and commonly used in pancakes, waffles and desserts. Laura said she prefers cobblers with cake -y texture rather than Bisquick which would have a biscuit-type texture. Either way is very tasty, but Bisquick would be less sweet and somewhat drier.
You can skip the first part of cooking the peaches and just add the fresh sliced peaches on top of batter. They cook perfectly in oven and no added sugar needed.
i honestly am starting to hate peaches. they have no taste. they are so bland around my areas even if you get them from the farmer's markets. :( and when i do buy the canned ones, they are coated in so much sugar syrup, that's all i taste!! i think i should grow all my own food... it gets worse & worse every day with everything... >:(
usually she shows it in the vid if she does sift anything Flower- plant, considered with reference to its blossom or cultivated for its floral beauty. Flour- a fine, soft powder used for baking Swift-Coming, happening, or performed quickly or without delay Sift-to separate and retain the coarse parts of flour Find these dictionary, com
now I feel bad!!! I did not say it in a bad or angry way!!! I am just saying!!! besides....93 people agree with you!! :) i am just saying that it is not worth it! :) oh!!!now that i remembered she has an episode on mini baklava!!! why don't you check it out!!! again I am very sad if my reply sounded rude or angry or anything!!! :)
Umm it wasn't a complaint. It was actually a comment. Did I say "OMG LAURA, YOU DON'T UPLOAD IT RIGHT AWAY. LIKE OMG, I'M DYING HERE. BLA BLA BLA. WHY DO YOU ALWAYS MAKE ME WAIT?!" No. So stfu. I actually REALLY love her recipes so if I'm a tad bit sad that I can't make this yummy goodness right away, that's not a complaint. So go be a troll somewhere else.
there are TONS of recipies online, all the same. Just take a cooked cake-any cake, and mix with a dab or homemade-or storebought frosting. mix untill it looks like a dough, and form into balls. put onto a stick and coat with melted chocolate or candy melting wafers, let set. Laura is not the only cook in the world..just use google
I made it. It was good but way too buttery!! I made a few changes and I've never been dissatisfied since. A little vanilla to the batter, less milk and sugar just until the whisk leaves tracks in batter, half the butter. Also you can use apples instead of peahes. Yum!!
You use the unsalted butter so you can control how much sugar you put in your food. So if you are using it in desserts you should use unsalted butter obviously. But if you use it in other recipe I guess you should use less salt if you are using salted butter. I hope this helps. :)
I went to your website and got the recipe but like the person i am i alwas read the reicpe first before i make it and in the ingerdiets and it said baking POWDER and when i read down it says baking SODA but your video says baking POWDER so im going with that
r u kidding????do u know how darn time consuming baklava is???and it tastes exactly like the ones they sell (here in greece at least)! it is ridiculously easy indeed (you just assemble in the correct order) but it is also way too time consuming. trust me...I have made my share of baklava!!! :)
I don't know if Laura reads this, but if she does I want her to try this. Set the oven up to 400. Instead of milk use twice that amount of water and sugar. It will look like a sloppy mess, but when it's done the results are juicy and even more delicious.
Yeah. She likes eating them and all, but she said something along the lines of she'd rather go out and eat that stuff, made by someone who knows what they are doing. I'm sure she'd delicious Japanese food, but she sticks to the things she really knows.
sounds good... except i would be using canned peaches.. the fresh peaches in florida AND pennsylvania, suck. they are always bruised and bad and when they look partially edible, they are bland with no flavor whatsoever.. :'(
Glad you used fresh peaches. I love canned peaches, but just to eat them straight up. For cobblers and things, fresh is the way to go. Frozen would be OK in a pinch.
i made the cobbler long ago it was delicious but the only thing is i kinda wanted the peachers to sink and for the crust to cover them and it only did i halfway....idk how hers came out perfect?
hmm im not sure, but im jealous of you though ;p peaches used to be good, but since the last 5 years or so, a lot of fruit and vegetables have no taste :( apples sound good too, thank you :D
i just made em with apricots instead of peaches...sooo scrumptious and the cake is so soft n moist. the cake corners have a slight crunch due to the butter...tastes like caramel..!! yum yum yum.
i made this and it was great the only tip i have when making this is DO NOT add that much sugar to the batter, mine came out very sugary for next time i am just going to put 1/2 a cup of sugar.
Hi Laura! I notice in your recipe you are using unsalted butter. Well, is it okay to use regular butter instead of unsalted butter? If so, how much regular butter should use to substitute unsalted butter?
For the benefit of everyone, perhaps you should say that the recipe will be on the site in a few days, thus cutting down on the inevitable "LAURAAAAAA! THE RECIPE ISN'T ON YOUR WEBSIIIIITE!" comments.
i would think so, even with berries added - like strawberries or blackberries, for added flavor, or other such fruits like kiwi and so on, even apple would be good made this way.
this is interesting. most peach cobblers we eat in the south have a cripsy pie like topping instead of cake. this looks good, but we call this a peach dump cake in the south :)
Laura, you said that your have a restaurant ( your family ) what is the name of the restaurant and the adress? I would like to eat the whole menu. :)) Pleasssssse answer! Thanks!
She does, but you have to understand she's getting hundreds of them. Sometimes all at once. and sometimes at different times of the day. she can only answer so many. (:
ur so pretty in this video... what am i talking about you look pretty in all your videos! i meant the food.... of course the food looks pretty! wat am i talking about.
Hi Laura , can i use can peaches ?because last time i bought peaches and the flash is white colour and its totally not sweet compared with the orange one .
In England, cobbbler is made with suet pastry FYI and usually is a savoury dish. I am liking this dessert though. I am more of a dessert fan than savoury dishes.
Who doesn't love her recipes :) Was just saying it will go on the website, so what's the point in *sighing* here. No need to make everyone puke rainbows
Just found this and it seemed the easiest recipe of all i saw in 1h today so i tried it, because u didnt need a lot of incredients. It was incredible how they all came into one. i put less butter and a little more milk, and as i didnt have peaches, i used some(4average sized) apples cut into little pieces that heated with the sugar and cinnamon and it is a great flavour for winter. to that i added a sliced guava after taking it off the heat. I regret i didnt put the lemonjuice in the apple mixture otherwise it was perfect. Keep on bringing us easy recipes like this:* love your vids. I also tried the nuttella soufflee , but i used melted chocolate with little milk instead and it was awesome, it has become one of my favs now. Thanku
