Delicious homemade scotch eggs with a side salad #food #delicious #foodie #northeast #homemade #yummy check out my new facebook page and say hi @the.dinner.lady.2024
The scotch eggs look so nice. I’m turning 68 in May and I have never had nor cooked a scotch egg. Now I know that you can cook them in the air fryer I think I’m going to attempt them for the first time in my life lol. I always thought they were too hard to do but you’ve made them look easy. Your food always looks so good and some of it reminds me of my parents. I’m born in Manchester but arrived in Australia when I was 4 year old. I cook a lot like my mum used to cross3d with a lot of Australian meals. My favourites are the plain old English meals that I recall my mum cooking. I used to make so many different foods but don’t bother much these days. I’ve attempted Yorkshire pudding once and also toad in the hole, once lol. Neither turned out but once I started cooking for a job my confidence rose. I think my oil wasn’t hot enough. I’m looking forward to trying them both again. I love toad in the hole. I really appreciate your channel and the lovely food you cook. I really hope your husband knows how lucky he is. I’ve been at my son’s place for a couple of weeks and he works all day and comes home and has to do all the cooking too. I keep my thoughts to myself but it’s pretty hard. He’s a pretty good cook though so his wife is very lucky and he likes cooking. Sorry for the long comment. Looking forward to more of your videos. I’ve binge watched quite a few lately though.
How lovely thank you I fined cooking relaxing and after a hard day mentally making a decent meal makes me feel better and I love all the comments so you say what you want to say no matter how long xx
Recently made a ton of breadcrumbs and been looking for ideas to use em up. These look amazing and not as difficult as I had imagined scotch eggs to be . Thank you DL 😊
Well, I have discovered that my tastebuds are definitely British!! Thank you so much for this, I am loving your channel, good, honest food, made by a good, honest woman. This is what RU-vid is for! The Airfryer is a bit of a game changer too.
Found your Chanel two wks ago and I watched nearly every one so far…. Brilliant home cooked fresh food love it x Also subscribed to yr hubbys chanel 👍 x
Oooh love scotch eggs...never made them though ...ty for sharing lovely Dinner Lady..you need a badge..'Head D L !🎉...Ian is a lucky fella being chief taste tester 😋,you are a wiz in your kitchen🎉
@@thedinnerlady9180 Im 66 Mrs DL, I had a step mum who was a great cook but it never cascaded down to me...i do a great Lasagnè in my slow cooker and still learning 🤔🤣..ive told my dtr in Perth WA 🇦🇨 to sub to you, as her partner does most of their family cooking 👍
Although these look amazing for air fryer, I personally would prefer mine done deep fried for a better look, being as we firstly eat with our eyes.. but of course you mentioned having too many days of heavy food, so fully understand why you wanted to air fry them. I'm sure they still were delicious as all your other food is!!. I am subscribed to hundreds of channels, bit make absolutely sure I tune in to yours for every upload as I love 99.9% of your recipes!! What I'm always amazed about is you always make your own pastry, when it is sp much easier to buy frozen.. but guess that isn't proper cooking, is it 😂? At Christmas, my nan used to make a home made pork pie, using a "hand of pork" with a delicious aspic jelly.. for me, even as a kid, it was the highlight of my Christmas.. a huge slice of this tender moist pork with jelly in a delicious pastry, sprinkle of salt... I can just taste it now! Something else she would make was cream horns, with jam.. would love to see your take on either of these 2 favourites!! Keep up the great content, absolutely love it!! ❤ 👍
Hi, thanks for another great cooking demo. And well done on your channel it's certainly getting some traction now, well deserved. It's nice watching a down-to-earth person and your man enjoying what you make and of course what he makes on his channel.
Lovely looking eggs, can’t remember when I had them last.We have American breakfast sausage, which is nothing like British sausage, and we can get sausages from around the World, but I think that Italian sausage which you can buy either mild,or hot is the most popular. If you would like to try something besides lemon in Avocado, Worcester sauce is delicious with them,my Nan use to cut them in half, remove the seed them put Worcester in the cavity.I mash them with it,and spread on toast for breakfast. We have a spice here called “Everything but the Bagel”it’s what they put on some bagels before baking,a mix of garlic flakes, onion flakes poppy seeds, black, and white sesame seeds, and flaked sea salt,I like to sprinkle this on my Avocado toast.
Loved it, they sounded so crispy which shop bought ones aren't, they're usually just a bit soggy and the sausage meat is always a bit baggy around the egg which yours weren't. Nice one and thanks :)
Did you say peas pudding? Oh my. I have always wanted to make it. The only recipe I found was rubbish compared to my mother’s.would love to try your take on this classic. Have found your channel this morning, it’s now 9.28pm and I’m addicted. Thank you for your recipes, technique, honesty and all round goodness. You are brilliant.
Spot on with nice crunchy bread crumb on scotch egg .Look gorgeous and I’m always making them for my hubby .I will definitely be using my air fryer more from now on .Thank you for another great video .Happy Tuesday x
Long time since I've made scotch eggs, hmmm... going to try them in my new dual zone Hysapientia air fryer oven 😊 Be interesting to see how they turn out 😋

Hi would you like a recipe my wife cooked it wow you will love it, slice 3 big potatoes, plus slice 2 big tomotoes, slice 1 red onion, and slice a tin of cornbeef, use a oven prove casserole dish, place a layer of potatoes on the bottom, then a layer of the cornbeef then a layer of tomotoes, sprinkle the onion between each layer, continue this but finish with a layer of potatoes on the top, place to beef stock cubes in 300mls of hot water then add to the dish you can add beef gravy if you wish, we do. Place in a pre heated oven on gas mark 6, or elec 200. A just if got a fan assisted oven and cook near the top for 1 hour 30 mins. It's so nice we both originate from brough near hull now we on the coast I promise the hubby will love it I can't get enough. Hope you have a loverly evening
Always liked the look of these but never ever had one. Not something we see allot of in Australia but we have so many other culinary links with the UK here so I can't complain. Now I need to go and find what's in Lancashire style sausage. Cheers and thanks so much for sharing this with us.
My hubby and I love your channel and beddy eats food. Thanks for getting us away from processed and eating better. I made the kebabs yesterday and my husband loved them he said better than from a takeaway and miles better for us. Keep it up xx
Wow our dinner lady does it again, wow (woman of wonderfulness) your recipes show how easy our cooking is and how even with basic equipment you can turn out great grub. Lovely Jubilee. Both of your cooking is showing the best of British, and what comes in a multicultural society like ours
What's so enjoyable about your channel is that it's all no-nonsense stuff that you can do in your own kitchen, Sod what the fancy TV chefs ( bar Jamie Oliver and Gordon Ramsey) tell us this the way our mums did it when they didn't have the fancy gadgets and ingredients we have today. My mum never had a recipe book in her life - it was all done by the experience gained from her own mother. You don't get that sort of thing today and I scream to myself in the supermarket checkout when I see the young mothers loaded up with ready meals and pizzas. We need more of what you're doing - you are showing them that cooking is not a chore - it's enjoyable. Bet your husband loves you - think about that you pizza lovers.
How lovely thank you so I agree about this generation if only they knew how much cheaper it is to and the satisfaction when people enjoy your food its praise enough xx
Hi the Dinner Lady. Greetings from South Wales I like watching you and your husband cook. You’re a lovely lady and excellent cook. Can you do something with cheese sometime soon, maybe a cheese pie? Or maybe something with chocolate, my two favourite things! All the best, and best wishes to your husband Ian. It is hard work these days being a Man U fan 😩. Brian
I make scotch eggs a lot in the summer when we’re eating out in the garden also do them at Christmas.thanks mand the seal n stretch underneath the sausage meat to put around the egg is a very good tip.I’ve never known anyone make cooking look easy as you do Love Marilyn x❤️
And I made the scotch egg recipe too. My first attempt. Two changes 1. I had some of my own sausage meat and I used that. 2. I had some dry bread crumbs that I had made earlier and I used those. They came out lovely and put the supermarket ones to shame.
Perfectly cooked scotch egg, Why on earth is there this thing for runny Scotch eggs? I don't understand it as Scotch eggs are the perfect finger food and the eggs were/are always meant to be hard boiled not runny. I think there is a tendency in modern cookery to just barely cook food for just being trendy. Great tasty food as always DL You're hitting all the right buttons here and I wish all parents could teach their kids these things nowadays though i know so few have the time and have to compromise so often.
Lovely thank you I’m going to make these for my hubby they are his favourites but I find the bought ones are like eating cardboard the driest things on earth , I will aim for a runny egg but yours looked fantastic and I always find you can’t get sausage meat unless from a butchers but sausages always taste better less fat and gristle , looking forward to these already 👏Amanda xx
Never had a Scotch Egg but it sure looks good. Wow your subs have really increased. 😂😂😂 wondered how long before you just got your hands into the sausage. Much easier to do.
Those scotch eggs look so good. I do like putting advacados in a salad especially with balsamic vinegar, lolive oil, lettuce, advacado and spring onions lovely
Have you tried adding a Raw egg into a whole and baking it to your liking of egg yolk sprinkle a few chilli flakes on the top of desired . It’s such a delicious healthy breakfast
Oh those looked beautiful and the right accompaniment too. How do you manage to peel the eggs so neatly, I always end up with the white coming away with the shells despite cooling them in cold water to prevent the grey ring around the yolk.
Another quick way to peal boiled eggs is to put some cold water in a little jar add a boiled egg. Shake the jar with the egg inside and the shell comes of without with fuss.
Well done Dinner Lady, congratulations on 12 thousand. I subscribed when you were on 6 thousand and that was just a month ago! Keep doing what you are doing. Think you deserve a holiday :)
